  1. Why are slayer and hunter missing? I mean I understand hunter missing, since it's such a fail skill. But I thought Jagex themselves thought hunter was amazing.
  2. Why will the edibles crash?
  3. They only announced to update in about an hour. Only the last ten minutes will count to zero onscreen.
  4. Finally decided to vote. After thinking it through, I voted yes.
  5. I wasn't known personally by any Jagex worker, I had only chatted with them in-game, and still I was asked to be a player moderator on the day they were introduced. :?:
  6. I actually like the new gravestone. Also, the quest was awesome. A bit on the short side, though.
  7. Some pictures of the new gravestone:
  8. Finished it too. I really loved it, one of the best events ever!
  9. Thanks to all of your support and votes, Jagex was once again named as the Golden Joystick UK Developer of the Year. In commemoration of this, and as a thank you to the entire RuneScape community, weve created a new in-game item thats available to all players: the golden hammer. The golden hammer is a wieldable Smithing hammer, and can be used anywhere a normal hammer can be used on anvils, on a POH workbench, during quests, etc. This will free up one more inventory space for Smithing enthusiasts, making room for an extra metal bar per anvil trip. When wielded, you can also right-click on the hammer to perform two new emotes (one for each year weve won the Golden Joystick award). To claim your golden hammer, youll need to first get a golden cracker and use it with another player. If theres room in your bank, you should find your golden cracker there. Otherwise, you can head to Draynor Village and get one from Diango. For more information about the Golden Joystick awards, read here: The Golden Joysticks is an annual awards ceremony for all games developers in the UK, and it's the one every developer most wants to win because it's voted for by players. Developers nominate their games in a wide range of categories - such as best graphics, best in genre and game of the year - and some are then shortlisted to take part in the voting stage. For the last two years, Jagex has been shortlisted for the coveted UK Developer of the Year award and, thanks to votes from our community, has won the award both times! In 2009, when we first announced our being shortlisted, the RuneScape community managed to temporarily break the Golden Joystick website's servers, such was the rush of players heading there to vote. In 2010, we instead broke two records - the most number of votes for a single entry in Golden Joystick history (1.4 million!), and being the first developer ever to win this award two years running. Being that the Golden Joysticks are voted for by players, we of course could not have done it without you and your support. While we always try to do our best for RuneScape and its players, it's things like this make us want to try even harder, and to work with our community to continue to make RuneScape better and more successful. As a small token of our appreciation, just in time for Christmas 2010, we gave all of our players a new in-game item - the golden hammer - in commemoration.
  10. They can't even fill levels 1-99 with content, why should they go for 120?
  11. One-of-a-kind account, perhaps?
  12. I just thought that I would kill one before leaving, it was way too crowded for me. Well, the one cyclops I killed dropped the defender. 8)
  13. I hope the people who got all statues and better guards will be somehow rewarded later on.
  14. 5 mins 40 seconds with unlimited running from Oo'glog when flying with hot air balloon from crafting guild. Then slayer ring tele back to Polnivneach, fly from south to colony and repeat. Going to get the better guards now.
  15. I'm going to take time on how long it takes with the crafting guild balloon when I get out from work. I got more death runes than I spent on the ice spell, so if the king gives 30 death runes it's like under 15 casts. Naturally the tenth choc took a bit more deaths.
  16. I just tried the Ape colony - Shantay - Port Sarim Jail - Crafting Guild balloon -way, and man, was it way faster than using eagles! Went through 5 tasks faster than I probably did 2 routes before. I'm sure I'll be doing my 25 trips like this.
  17. My last workday of the week, and now they bring out the update I've been waiting for the whole week. Bleh! Well, at least I had time to finish Epic Mickey before this. And I'll get to play the new quest after 11 hours anyway. 8)
  18. The old Achievement Diary interface has been replaced this week with something newer, shinier and more flexible, and with that comes a new name: Tasks! Wherever you are in the world, the Tasks side interface will show you the six most suitable endeavours for your location and skill levels. From the side interface, you can also open up the Task List to view all Tasks in the game, sorted by area set (e.g. Lumbridge/Draynor) and difficulty. There are options here to filter out all completed Tasks or those that are not part of a set. We've also added some additional Tasks into Lumbridge that are not part of the Lumbridge/Draynor set, which are aimed at players new to RuneScape. They wont pose a challenge to an experienced player, but they do pave the way for more non-set Tasks in the future. Completing these or any other Tasks is worth a bounty in cold, hard cash, and there's a music track and an emote waiting to be unlocked by those who complete enough of them. Please note that the rewards for completing all of the Tasks in a set of the same difficulty level will still earn you the same items and XP lamps as the old Achievement Diaries did. Weve also removed Objectives (and its tab from the side panel); Objectives only let you set a level target in one skill or track one quest. In its place weve added Skill Targets, which you can set by right-clicking on the icon of any skill in the side panels Stats tab. Although this means you can no longer set a quest as a target, it does mean that you can set individual targets for each and every skill, and that target can be either a level (anything up to 99; or 120 for Dungeoneering) or a specific amount of XP (anything up to 200,000,000)!
  19. Way down in the Kharazi Jungle, a witchdoctor going by the name of Papa Mambo has been combining his strange magical powers with a spot of gardening. His unique brand of 'juju magic' has infused a jade vine offshoot with an abundance of life, causing it to sprout new strains of flowers, bushes and herbs, and he's inviting players to try their hand at farming these new plants. If this weren't enough, the flora is attracting strange, plant-like creatures called jadinkos to the area. You will need to experiment with various combinations of flowers, bushes and herbs native to this habitat to find out what attracts the many different breeds of jadinkos to the area. Papa Mambo has discovered that plant trapping and tracking these jadinkos can earn you secondary ingredients to be mixed with the vine herbs, in order to create special juju potions. These juju potions are untradeable, and offer a variety of benefits, including increased herb yields, attracting spirits to transport logs and ores to your bank, and the ability to fish the elusive baron shark. Finally, if you hunt all of the basic jadinko breeds in any given week, Papa Mambo will give you an experience reward (in Farming, Herblore or Hunter) as well as garments from the ever-fashionable witchdoctor collection. There are also three special jadinko breeds the enigmatic Saradomin, Guthix and Zamorak jadinkos. Catching these will prove difficult, as the habitat they are drawn to changes on a weekly basis. If you manage to find the right combination of flora, though, you will not only get a further experience boost, you'll also receive the much sought after witchdoctor mask AND a 30-minute XP boost to all your Farming, Herblore and Hunter activities within the habitat area. Mod Raven RuneScape Content Developer Summary: Where to start using the Herblore Habitat: Speak to Papa Mambo in the south-east of the Kharazi Jungle (you can teleport there with a juju spiritbag, purchased from Bettamax in north Taverley for 2,000 coins) Requirements to use the Herblore Habitat: 54 Farming is essential to start using the Herblore Habitat and farm juju plants 70 Hunter is required if you wish to start hunting jadinkos 54 Herblore is required is you wish to start mixing juju potions 56 Construction would also be useful, but is not required In other news... The Thanksgiving turkeys have made a reappearance in Lumbridge! Pay a visit to the cook's brother in Lumbridge and help to prepare his Thanksgiving feast. The ogre chefs of the Feldip Hills have branched out a little. You will now be able to access spit-roasting spots in a number of new locations around the area. Weve upgraded the Software graphics mode to allow use by players with Macs and Linux. Weve also made changes to our other graphics modes, allowing them to all look the same as Safe mode, should you want your game to look that way. As such, theres no longer any need for anyone to use Safe mode - unless there is a problem with the game client - as every other mode performs significantly better! We have, therefore, removed the option to enter Safe mode from the options screen; it will instead only be activated when a problem with the other modes has been detected. Players currently in Safe mode will be asked to re-run the automatic setup when they load their client. Weve added a new system to allow us to message every single online player with update warnings and other information. We will be trialling this with the next game update. The right-click menu can now handle a situation where there are more options than can fit on your screen. It will now try to bunch options into categories to conserve space. The Dungeoneering coal bag now has a handy fill option for use within the bank screen. The XP counter is now comma-separated for ease of reading.
  20. The time when banks only accepted cash. Those were the days!
  21. They can't hit the hammer on nailhead perfectly every time mate. But surely a regurarly updated game would be fairly easy to improve on the already added content? Jagex keeps track of the loaves of breat that's stolen every day, surely they also have statistics of the usage of their other updates, for example the number of charm monsters caught every day? All in all, wouldn't fixing existing content be easier and faster than creating new content? They could for example increase the amount of charm pieces the charm creatures give when caught. But this rarely happens. Normally, Jagex just crams more updates into the game, part of it useless to practically everyone.
  22. I would like to start by saying that Jagex gets a lot of stuff done right. I don't agree with the "The golden age of RuneScape is past us"-opinion. But every now and then Jagex seems to implement some seemingly pointless or straight out stupid updates. The latest example that comes to mind is the charm hunting update. Sure, it's fun for a moment, but no one seriously does it for getting charms, which seems to have been Jagex's intention. Also with street trading and botting, it seems Jagex doesn't know it's own game. What do you guys think? Does Jagex really know what its audience is thinking, or are they partially blind to their own community?
