I think it was worth it. I had some trouble when I did a upgrade (such that the Finder was reading my Time Capsule as being located in two different places on the same drive). This was later fixed with a clean install, which I think anyone who frequents T&C will tell you to do. There aren't any die-hard necessities but I find most of them enjoyable.

Erm, what? The user has given us hardly any details about what he/she is experiencing. While it may become necessary to reformat and reinstall, there is no reason to reach that conclusion so hastily; Hex offered a legitimate (albeit simplistic with lack of details) fix. What exactly does the dialog box say before your system shuts down?

Not really much to go on, so it's difficult to tell, but I would be wary of accepting or receiving advice about colleges from Off-Topic (online forums in general, really). Don't be scared about your last statement. If two applicants are equal in distinguishable characteristics a place of employment might base their decision off of your place of education but plenty of other things are more important.

Hard reset your device by holding the Home and Sleep button at the same time until the device powers off. Turn the device on. Go into Settings>General>Reset and reset the Network Settings. It will ask you for your passcode and then wipe your network configuration, allowing it to rebuild. When it comes back on, go back into Settings>Wi-Fi and select your network.

I was speaking on the fact that all routers I have come across require you to plug directly into it to reach that address, unless your router uses a proprietary setup. A lot of routers require that. The default username on linksys routers is "admin" (it could also be left blank) where the password is also "admin."

You'll have to plug directly in to your router unless you have an Apple router, in which case that address wouldn't work either anyway.

Those are the amount of networks you are able to connect to. The Twyfolks network has weak signal, so that explains why you can only sometimes see it. From this information, it is impossible to know if anyone is using your network. Do you keep a phone (wireless, cellphone, or other) near your desk or speakers? The frequencies phones give off disrupt the speakers, where the end result is static.
