  1. Chavs are a chiefly British phenomena, considered by some a backronym meaning 'council housed and violent'. While this is not believed to be the real etymology, it is certainly an apt description. Chavs hang around outside shops in their council estate because they have nothing better to do. They drink lager and smoke cheap cigarettes, frequently cannabis, too. They find some sort of pleasure in beating the crap out of innocent passers by, or rival 'gang' members, as they consider their little group to be on par with American gangsters; a sad, deluded view. They hang around in groups for safety, and all they like to do is play football, make themselves as muscular as possible, avoid school and it is '4 gais nd queers'. The sad thing is they think they can maintain this lifestyle for ever, but when they reach their early twenties, the majority of them will realise how mistaken they were, and wish they had at least one qualification to get a job that earns at least £5000 a year. So that's a short introduction to chavs. For more information please visit Southampton, Portsmouth, London, Machester or Liverpool, to name a few English cities plagued with this problem. The scourge of the South, I like to call them, as the south of England is where they prominently breed.

'Emo', in my mind, is someone who acts depressed, wears black, etc, for no good reason. They're usually middle class, their parents are still together, live in a nice house and all that stuff, they do it because it's supposedly trendy. People from broken homes, rife with drugs, abuse etc, I don't feel that way about, their life actually does suck.
  3. There's nothing stopping me blacklisting people... Besides, even if I did I'd still like to have the option to see their posts in case they say something important or relevant to the discussion. Pretty embarrassing if you try to make a point or mention something that they've already covered.
  4. PNG-8 only recognises 256 colours, so it shouldn't be used for photos.
  5. People get this idea that you must never ever save anything in jpg because Paint automatically saves its jpg's on a very low quality, leaving loads of very visible artifacts. Truth is, jpg is fine for pixels if you save it via something like Photoshop, where you can choose 100% quality. It's no different from png, and it's a much lower filesize, due to how the algorithms work. You can save it at 100% and it will still be lower than a png. The png format handles filesize by adding/removing colours, not compression, so it works differently, and its algorithms are different to jpg.
  6. Jasc is a programme you pay for, right? Then it's illegal to download it for free via torrents, please do not post the link nor pm people with it.
  7. I don't really see the point, the only people you would need to blacklist are spam bots, but we ban them and remove their posts from public forums anyway. If a regular user ends up on your blacklist, I'd still like the option to see their posts regardless, they won't always post things that you deem worthless spam/flaming.
  8. I don't believe in the supernatural. I hate when people group aliens in with ghosts and stuff as well, I personally think it's plausible that aliens exist.
  9. This choppiness is caused by aliasing, it doesn't 'smooth' the text out, so it appears pixelated. Anti-aliasing is the 'smoothing' of the text. I'm not sure how cleartype works, but look for an anti-aliasing option, it should fix it.
  10. Why was the pc on without a heatsink over the cpu? :|
  11. Another kid who wanted to go down in a blaze of infamy?
  12. No depth, no detail, generally inaccurate. Did you actually look at a picture of an eye/look in a mirror at your own eyes, or just draw how you thought an eye would look? The eye lashes on the top are the wrong way round, the tear looks flat and has no reflection/refaction, the iris (like Soa stated) is also wrong, add highlights and shadows like Soa did. Just rework the whole thing, I think it just looks amateurish, the key is detail and depth, which this lacks. Take a picture of an eye and work the features you see into your drawing.

The dark, the cold, my computer.
  14. No point going with Alienware, I would definitely go with the build it yourself option. Even if you don't know how, you can always go into a pc store, dump all the stuff on their desk and ask them to do it for a fee. With 6k, expect a beast of a machine.
  15. A 250w psu is underpowered for the current market, if you can, get around a 400-500w one.
  16. I'm definitely middle class, I live in the south of England, in a detatched 4 bedroom house, my dad has a BMW and a Vespa scooter as a hobby. We have a large driveway, 3 computers in our house, a garage, 2 spare rooms, 3 toilets ( :) ) and a multi-leveled back garden. /showoff
  17. You can open up the side and just look on the label on the side of it. It's a big box, usually at the top left of your case, where you plug the thick power cable in to. Look for a the wattage number, if you can't find it take a picture and upload it here.

It is a vector if he made it with a vector programme. The image he posted is a png, it had to be converted to a raster filetype so it could be posted on the internet, as image hosts don't upload .ai (Illustrator) files, or the inkscape equivalent, as far as I know. So yes that image is bitmap, but the file is vector, as he could rescale it and post it again, and there wouldn't be any artefacts or loss of quality.
  19. It's not a law but a while back a policeman actually arrested a cow for causing a car accident.
