Tempests Monster Hunting Blog: COMPLETIONIST CAPE ACHIEVED
Hi there, I'm Alex, 19, currently in my first year of University and living in Melbourne, Australia. I've been Scaping on and off since about May '05. Got serious about it in late '08 and have been accomplishing a fair bit since then. Mainly on Rs I like to PvM, and have since 2008. I used to be quite active on Tip It until the end of 2010 when I went on a seriously extended absence from Scape altogether. Obviously now PvM is a lot different due to the Evolution of Combat, but as a serious fan of PvM back in the day I honestly think that this was a really good update. I will of course miss the OldScape, but I like change so I am taking this in my stride. That's how I've made up most of my cash over the past couple of years, so I'm fairly decent at it now. This blog was originally made for my 99 Summoning progress back in 2009, then evolved into my general PvM blog, and now I guess it becomes my Blog to attaining the Completionist Cape. ~ ~ ~ . ~ ~ ~ Stats Stats 26th August 2010 (Last time I actively updated blog before restarting) Current Stats ~ ~ ~ . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ . ~ ~ ~ Completionist Cape (Achieved October 3rd 2013) - Achieve level 99 in all skills (Divination & Cooking) - Achieve level 120 Dungeoneering - All quests completed - All tasks completed - All spells unlocked from Livid Farm - Bones to Peaches unlocked from Mage Training Arena - Unlock Tune Bane Ore spell - Unlock Rapid Renewal Prayer - All Varrock museum Kudos earned - Unlock use of The Abyss - All music tracks unlocked - Laid the Goblin High Priests to rest - Completed the Fight Kiln - Obtain Tarn's Diary - Returned Clarence the Mage to rest - Completed the Stronghold of Security - Completed the Stronghold of Player safety - Completed all unabridged Fremennik Sagas - Hunted the Thalassus 10 times - Killed the Queen Black Dragon for the first Dragonkin Journal - Claim a reward from Claus the Chef - Score 1,111 in one session of the Giant Chincompa game - Complete all of Doric & Boric's tasks - Complete the Player-owned Ports tutorial - Unlock the enhanced Yaktwee stick ~ ~ ~ . ~ ~ ~ Pvm Drops So seeing as this is indeed a PVM Blog, I figured it might be sorta wise to have an archive of the drops I get over the course of this blog. Thats the first function this archive will fulfill. The second function will be to chronicle my progress towards a goal which is becoming more and more common; obtain all PVM drops. This is something I've always wanted to do, and after I finish up Comping this will become my primary objective. Its such a great goal in my opinion as it provides a lot of versatility, and you rarely find yourself bored. As part of this goal the bosses I will be including drops from are: i. Vorago ii. - Kalphite King iii. - Nex iv. - Corporeal Beast v. - Queen Black Dragon vi. - Commander Zilyana vii. - General Graardor viii. - K'ril Tsutsaroth ix. - Kree'arra x. - The Dagannoth Kings You might notice that there are a few bosses missing on that list, primarily: Chaos Elemental, Kalphite Queen, Glacors & Tormented Demons. The reason I've left off the Elemental and Queen are that I can't really see it being worth my time, and I don't really enjoy them. Glacors, TDs and to a lesser extent, Automatons, I've left off for now because they're each more of a Pseudo-Boss. I'll be spending time at them over the course of this goal I'm sure, but they aren't a part of my primary goal. As far as items that will count for this, I'll stick to the normal 'rules'. That means that only drops that are FFA (splitting or keeping), and Lootshared will count. The only place I'll make the exception is Corp because doing anything other than CS Corp can be a 100m difference. As a side not on the archive side of this; the first time I get the drop to tick it off the 'goal list' that particular drops text in green will be linked to the picture of me receiving the drop. The numbers underneath will serve to show any duplicate drops of that item. This log will span over the main post of my blog and the proceeding one, the 'Big 3' will be on this post, with the rest on the latter. Red denotes a drop I have yet to received, and bosses I have not yet received any drops from. Orange denotes a boss I have received some drops from, but not yet all. Green denotes a drop I have received, and bosses I have received all drops from. 2k GWD bosses soloed, with drop log.
Every once in a while you click on a post and it makes you smile. This post did that. This is an amazing achievement that i'm sure you found very rewarding lol. Question, what was the total prfote from that, when you subtract the cost of supplies and that.

SC - Morphic tool
I have a question. Does anybody know how long a morphic tool (hammer) lasts? If it is level based and not experience based could somebody please tell me the formula, thanks very much :)

Runecrafting Vs. Slayer [The Harder 99]
Slayer, is in my opinion easier. Sure you can get more Runecraft exp per hour, however the repedativness of it can become a real challenge. With Slayer you are constantly doing different things. Many, many people say that Slayer is their favourite skill, how many people say that Runecrafting is? Not as many, this probably means something wouldn't you agree? Summing up Slayer is easier to train, although getting 99 will take longer.

d claws vs. godswords
Very easy answer, Godswords. They hit higher and are generally more accurate. A better question would have been what is better in terms of special attack. In terms of special attacks out of all weapons Dragon claws are probably the most commonly used for just their special attack. With Godswords you can use their special, but that isn't the primary reason for using them. With claws you use them for their special and thats about it. Claws have a better special then Bandos godswords, and probably Zamorak godswords to. Saradomin and Armadyl godswords still have overall better specials in my opinion.

Should the Grand Exchange update at a set time?
Short answer, hell no. Think about it, if your going on a boss hunting trip or something, you don't want to have to wait around 8 hours for your potions and food to buy. It would make so many people annoyed that having this sort of update would be stupid. Interesting thought though.

Magic vs Melee
Personal choice. A lot of people prefer melee because you only need the one weapon that unless it's Barrows, you only need to pay for once. Sure Godswords can hit ridiculously high, but most common weapons can with high attack and strength. With magic you can generally hit a spells maximum without 99 Magic or a similar level. Basically when your at the lower levels of that combat type magic hits better, but once you get to the final elite stages melee can do more damage.

Dragon KiteShield vs DFS - Do we need it at all?
Going back to when the Dragon plate was released, what happened? It's price was ridiculously high, it's stats weren't that good, and really it was just to late. I remember reading something on the RSOF about if the plate had been released a year or two earlier how popular it would have been, I reckon that if a Dragon kite is introduced a similar scenario will occur. I don't think that if released it should be as strong as the Dragonfire shield. Dragonfire shield's while being seen as common are still technically a rare item, it's not every day you get a visage. I think that if a Dragon kite was released it would help to end another debate about Dragonfire shields not being the Godsword of shields. All i all I think that JaGex missed the boat for this one, bringing it out would cause a spark for a few weeks, a month at max. But eventually the buzz would die down and then you have another junk Dragon item.

71-80 range.
You should get some iron throwing knives and void and kill Yak's. It works great and a lot of people still train there past 80. Like someone else said slayer is another good way to train.
-
Dragon scimitar + rune defender or SS?
SS no doubt about it, you can always try a set of Dharoks, which is cheaper then an SS
-
"fake combat level"
Your right, its not as common now, but when summoning first came out so many people were complaining about "fake combat levels". I'm pretty sure to get these "fake combat levels" we had to spend time and money. They are real skills and if they level your combat level they should be acknowledged for it. I support this ;)
-
Cheap way to get summoning. 72 > 88
Well there isn't really any cheap way to train summoning. If you want a cheap way to get charms then a few things you could do are: Soul wars, Slayer, Waterfiends. With slayer and waterfiends you will actually make money, unless you die a lot.
-
Which is better at Waterfiends- Zammy Spear or Whip and DFS?
Waterfiends are weak against crush attacks. Zam spears have great crush attack making them really good for Waterfiends. Whips can only attack with Slash therefore go the spear.
-
Mystic Mud Staff or Mud Battlestaff?
Go the battlestaff. The mystic staff gives a higher mage bonus and while being cheaper if your planning to train through curse, you want as little mage bonus as possible.

If You Found 250 Million Coins. What Would You Buy? 20k views

???DRAGON'S BLOG??? Are you ready for this? 3rd solo claws
So yeah, i am the most pro TD'er in world, under 80 solo kills, 3 claws, no D plate pieces, doesn't get much better ;)

Tormented Demons Solo and Duo Guide
With your Duo section you say that both of you should never Hybrid, i disagree. From my experience unless you are both very used to TD's and the range has 99 range while the warrior has 99 attack and defence, it is not always going to be faster. Maybe you should mention that.

???DRAGON'S BLOG??? Are you ready for this? 3rd solo claws
SO yeah, TD's ftw, 24 kills, 2 claws, pretty good record imo ;)
