IMO it is. Range can hit from a distance, and most of the time take absolutely 0 damage. With melee you have a chance to die and lose your stuff every time. Also, melee has more high-level weapons, such as dragon scimitars, etc, while range's dragon bolts and bow is still going to come out. Range still has its risks...ask anyone who goes to fight dragons with range. i hunt blues all the time with my msb, and you have to be incredibly careful i always use safespots, but a few times ive gotten suprised running to pick up arrows, once got hit a 50...that really stank... I never died myself while i got 76-99 ranged at blues, but the nearest i had was when i switched windows and forgot about having somehow left myself available to attack... well i change back and see both myself and the dragon redbarred (1 health for both, checked mine after) but luckily i was last to hit and killed it :P i of course had rhh and ranger boots and some amount of ada arrows, at least that was a fair fight against poor draggy ;)

First 3 to complete heroes quest isn't accurate... i was one of them, at least tks completed it after me (or was it blue? either of em said in forums they had to postpone completing of heroes because they wanted to train, whoever it was again, and i was number 4 in herblaw)

drawing maps sounds boring, it was alot funnier to just figure it out without, just bit more vague that way

i started to wonder how far from bank cw and edge teles are... first time i tried both gave 9 spaces, but obviously that was nearly the furthest point from bank emerald ring teles you to, average is obviously better for cw bank but still

on those low level monster damages... i must say i was pretty shocked when i randomly killed a rat while going down to varrock sewers in rs2 with 126 combat, i missed my first hit (using whip too) and damn rat actually hit me by 1...

Wow, you just told us that it will either die quickly, die slowly, or not die. What else could possibly happen? XD And you managed to contradict yourself as well. I personally think Jagex will sell it. After that, the future of RS depends on what the buyers will be like. There is no contradiction, just read it again, anyhow i'd guess on the second choice, why would there exactly be this "bang"? if it still were profitable it should hardly be suddenly stopped, unless it really was withered, which already means the second option

Nope... but i had 2 2 2 12 something combat stats in begin if i remember right, could be wrong though, also combat level formula was somewhat different, but i don't think my combat could have been that low as 3, even though it was different then, combat level has been updated since at least twice (if we don't count a bugfix)

yeah see, thats what most people from the old school will tell you. andrew used to post up on the LAVA island in full black armor, where natures respawn in the wilderness and SHOOT people with range!!!!! jagex back in rsc wasnt anything compared to jagex now. u can ask most people that actually were there on the day of the dupe. it wasnt just 1 person, it was a scary sinister side to jagex trying to lower the desire for party hats by doing somthing about it. glad they did it, cuz i banked :mrgreen: btw- i actually found a pic of andrew doing that. http://www.runescaperealm.com/special_r ... pe_History alotta old school info for you gunshafted. off topic. tks was the man, this was like the first #1 player but he was unlike any of the #1s. he talked to anyone who talked to him, very friendly as of now in the current version of runescape, i dont think were in for any other plots/extreme bugs/dupes/ or any other natural disasters (jagex or player created) after the durial thing. tks is a "he" now ehh? anyway, funny site that is, calling tks a pioneer, even that she wasn't too early leader of the highscores skill total, and what the heck is about l6vi getting number 1 skill total AFTER tks?? l6vi was in control before her, and he had gotten the rank from ashley i think, who held it for a while after tiwi's ban, crappy site... oh and andrew didn't like fair fights in wildy too much :P i know some people got him down but at least against me and god420247 he simply modteled after he managed to hug greater demon with about 10 hp...

I remember stinger, he had good ranged. He was also one of the more old school archers, I remember seeing him on "Server Status" often. (Back when I was trying to get there myself.) I have been playing so long I knew Blick when he was a man. Hah. I knew him back in 2001. I quit and came back in 2003, and was like "Who the hell are you?". She was his sister. Some of my other ranged buddies I remember: - Kobiianardo, the highest ranged for a long time. In summer of 2001, I saw him hit a 13 and was like "[what the heck]". I'd never seen him before, because he'd always trained on chickens and rats (I can't stand that method), and I was always in BK castle or Kharid warriors. He was a nice guy, just leaving the chickens to take a break on BKs. He quit in the fall to concentrate on school, and his level 88 ranged wasn't touched until Feb/Mar(?) of the next year. - Kxb, the guy who finally passed Kobii This guy was crazy. He shot up like a rocket, and from late December 2001 to March or so 2002, everybody in the ranged hiscore list took a (-1) to their name. A lot of people accused him of botting ranged, which wasn't true. You can macro chickens/rats, I suppose, and possibly Jail (not sure if programs of the time could have). But you can't macro BKs or Lava Maze in wildy, which is where he leveled. Plus he always responded when I talked to him. He did bot fighting, though, which is how he got banned. From what he said, he wanted to quit the game before summer, so he botted fighting in an obvious location to give himself the boot. I called him crazy, but what do you know, I quit myself that summer. - GregE6 I can't remember if it was him or somebody else who killed an idiot in wildy who had thousands and thousands of high level arrows (steel, mith, addy, +). Apparently the shady kid had links to some dupers, but anyway, good thing somebody killed him. He told me he'd trade me the arrows (to get 99 ranged) for 10k nature runes. So I camped the thieving chest for days to get them. However, I decided to quit the game and just gave the runes away. Also IIRC, GregE was the first player to have a sex change (before the makeover guy even existed). Also, in the earlier days of runescape, when his forum name on the original tip.it boards was "Cali Sun" (even though he's from NYC), he had a pic of Tsunami from Tenchi Muyo as his sig, so everybody thought he was a girl to begin with. Eh, I'll end this here before it to be too big a list.
