Not to mention a good merchant can quite easily dispose of junk for cash, so they don't mind spending cash for a new item which they can merch later on when the GE price goes up.

Currently, full slayer helm doesn't give a boost against monsters which, although they may be assigned as your task, do not need a slayer level to kill. These would include tzhaar. Unless jagex fixed this today, you'd be better off with nezzy helm if praying 10% range, or robin/arma helm.

The thing is, I think they are trying to do several things. 1.) Make a slayer monster which has a harder req. outside of a quest. 2.) Make these monsters more exclusive, as well as the drop. 3.) Reward those who slay. I don't really think they are just trying to pump up fight caves.

Bull****. This is a videogame. It should require some amount of skill. I'm pretty offended that people are saying they have a mental illness just so they won't have to deal with something in the game. As someone who has a mental disorder, I find it very insulting. Nothing is impossible. I've suffered through a lot to do things I thought I couldn't, and people saying "Oh, I have ADHD, I can't beat Jad..." just so they can be able to get a staff of light and sell it for rediculous amounts of virtual money really offends me. Having an illness is a challenge you're going to have to fight. I fought mine, and when people think they can get past theirs by complaining and whining until someone else fixes something for them, especially in a videogame, it really irks me. Theres some mental disorders that effect reaction speed and no matter how much you "fight" them you wont react quickly, making prayer switching for Jad impossible. Thus making Jad impossible. Equally if yuo have a bad internet connection and lag all the time it is impossible. if you have a bad internet connection or bad reflexes for whatever reason, many things in online computer games are not possible. is that a reason to compromise all content which relies on such things as reflexes and decent internet connections? actualy its very possible without the "physical ability" to prayer switch im a strong believer in the saying "brute force, if its not working your not using enough" with ss + turmoil + venge + d claws you can kill jad without any skill whatsoever, just rush him and even tho its not 100% if you attempt this 3-5 times one of the times ull drop him in about 10 seconds What part of your brain makes you think tht someone with a reaction delaying illness that stops them pray switching is going to be able to hop between 2 weapons, a spell AND a prayer to drop jad before an attack hits them? Just remember, the foucs+hex don't work against monsters assigned, which aren't slayer monsters. (Eg, they don't need a certain slayer level to kill.) Thus, it will boost vs abby demons, but not black dragons. Lame. Where did you get that info? i think what stone means is that you won't get the bonuses from the hex or sight unless your using them on a slayer task. non-slayer tasks will not give u the bonus of the items. and you will get the bonuses on any slayer task. it doesn't matter if they require a slayer lvl or not. NOPE. On task, if the monster doesn't need a specific slayer level to kill, the boost WILL NOT be there. It only works on things like abby demons, dark beasts, etc. Which need a slayer level to kill. Even on task. BTW: I read it somewhere else, and tested it, and I can say that it DOESN'T WORK Please, DO NOT try to change what I say. I said exactly what I meant, and you are wrong.

[hide] Could some please explain how 93 slayer is in any way similar to killing jad? You don't need good internet connection or reflexes or learn not to panic in stressful situations for slayer. And as for stats and gear, those don't count much towards Jad. Pures who are good at prayer switching can kill him with flowers. (I don't know this, but I know pures have killed him and I know he's been killed with flowers.) Personally, I think the compromise was too in favour of people with a firecape, but then again I don't know how many points you need to spend. As for the experience of everyone else, what about the experience of people who have failed 10 times on jad? People who simply do not have the internet connection? Or just simply panic and die? Also, there is a difference between listening to constructive criticism and giving into whiners. Mep2 comes close, with that stupid agility part that I failed 50 times...But failing 50 times takes less then 3 hours. Nomads Requiem and Summers End also has a lot of deaths, but you can go back and try again within 5 minutes. Jad takes 3 hours to try again. And I have no idea why you think WGS is that hard. 1. Not really, 10 Firecape attempts can be up to 30 hours, and even then you might lose. 2. Life isn't fair. Deal with people without firecape killing ice strykewyrms? You forget one thing. You can't grind jad. With slayer, once you put in enough hours, you have 99. With Jad, it isn't guaranteed. Plus, you level up as you do slayer. If you do 3 hours at jad, then lose to jad, you've accomplished nothing except some range exp. Also, leave the sol drop-rate alone. You already need 93 slayer and task to kill them. For the people saying they have issues with reflexes and/or internet connection (and advocating the idea of 'time should be able to solve everything in RuneScape'), even if you remove the 2 hours of grinding prior to seeing Jad, they won't be able to beat it anyway, so what makes this point a legitimate argument? ^^ this. A couple seconds of lag every now and then isn't bad for must of RS except PVP and maybe difficult boss monsters. But with a good team, and not tanking.... I think perhaps Jagex should make firecape exclusive content that doesn't require something like 93 slayer? And yes, it would have been better if Jagex did this upon release. Could not agree with this more. While we get rid of the Fire Cape requirement let's also throw away the need to do hard quests so we can access everywhere because it's unfair to the people with bad internet and they can't fight boss monsters. all quest boss monsters are easy on laggy computers because they have no ko potential so if you lag out it shouldn't be a problem at least for a short while. while jad is the one exception where if you lag your dead. The only exception to this is nomad but he is predictable, even if you lag you still have to time to predict his attacks and is only a matter of trial and error until you find something that works, ie hiding behind pillar early ect. You just can't compare quests to jad. So... taking out the Barrelchest... it didn't have ko potential? ...even if it was doing half my hp in damage every swing at the time? Or the inadaquacy, that takes some good effort to even run from, and you must save food for that? Or Nomad, who could 1hit me currently? No. I beat all those things first try, and quite low combat, with plenty of food left. Jad took me 4 tries. And Kal, you are *69* slayer. You really don't have any experience to comment one way or the other on this.

Well, the thing is if this was only for players who really CANT get the fire cape, I wouldn't mind as much. But about the only way to make sure of this would be to require failing AT JAD, not before, 5+ times. Since Jagex won't do that, people will just be lazy and go around it.

Group of my friends have already teamed up to get everyone at wyrms without a fire cape killed. Think I'll join them, unless the compromise is at least HARD. TUBA, your argument is illogical. You can figure that out. That set takes what, like 100 HOURS to get? Maybe more? Fire cape takes maybe 20? That is if you fail 15 times.

Hi I killed 100 waterfiends with whip in an hour while I kill around 110-115 with Z spear/Saradomin Sword per hour. Don't assume you can't kill it effectively at all without a crush weapon when you probably haven't gone out and tried it yourself. EDIT: This is at max stats with a Unicorn and on a slayer task You are full of it lol. Even with max stats, x pots, etc etc, and turmoil/piety, I max out at ~110-120 crims/hr with ZS. There is NO WAY you get 100 kills with a whip ^.^ And Paw, you are full of it too. The difference between attack, defense, and controlled is VERY VERY small. Uhhh Aasiwat got 120+ crimsons an hour EVEN BEFORE Extreme potions AND turmoil were released. Also Lucipher6 is known to WHIP waterfiends as even though it's less effective than a ZS/SS, that doesn't mean it's completely defunct at waterfiends Excuse me. Did you know that turmoil is WORSE then piety at fiends? I just use it since then I have SS and berserker, and don't have to change prayers. Also, with DH, etc, its easy to get 120 crims/hr without x pots. Also, so what if someone whips them? That still makes it far less efficient. Not to mention the OP is hardly anywhere near maxed melee.

I'm thinking of a 4 digit number, starting with 5. Den, 100-500 slayer points is NOTHING. I can easily do 6+ tasks a day. It should cost more like 1500-2k points.

Personally, I find the fact that you aren't using super sets far more deplorable then the fact that someone is using legends cape.

How dumb is it to say that being uncampable is part of making them exclusive, but not needing a fire cape isn't? ANYTHING which makes them harder, more quests to get too, etc, makes them more exclusive.

But, you see, we DISAGREE with you.93 slayer is easy enough. This makes the SOL and iceys more exclusive. Which is why they cant be camped.

Life. Isn't. Fair. Either get a fire cape, or don't kill them. If you want zerker (I) you spend 20+ hours getting 300 MA ranks. Should be EASY to get a fire cape in 20 hours.
