  1. As for the soloist, it depends on the circumstances. Like I said, emeralds and astral runes aren't a problem for myself... and if i can get combo runes for free when compared to the nothingness output of world 66, why not, although now practically useless, I like them for aesthethic value also. EDIT: thank you, that post is what got me into combo runes- it clearly shows the quantitive data needed. World 66 stinks.
  2. If jagex did this- and I know they do- they could figure out the variables and the calculations involved, and made sure they didn't overdo it :P Some of the last couple year's updates have been too teleological for me not to think otherwise. They know what they're doing now. And yes, I inferring that andrew and paul's original concepts were so out there. But still you haven't answered my question, would it be possible. Because if Jagex does not do 1 thing is change the excisting. They will never change excisting things. Or they would have done so many things already. They will not change combi-crafting. to bad for us.. A minigame with combi-runes would raise the prices sky high, making the minigame cost alot, thus not played.. Would make common sense.. So really, is it possible. I would love so, but I remain scepticle. Well I should add, the minigame is just a petty idea of mine, but, if it were real, it SHOULD have lasting rewards, like pest control or castle wars (gold armor) and not be like barb assault, with one time worthwhile rewards. I'm editing my top post with a interesting fact courtesy of runescape forums.

  4. geez, mr. negative. I'm not lazy. It's just a discussion. I don't think having runners would actually slow you down, especially because the passage to the altar is so short. Runners would be back fast, if it were to ever be instituted.
  5. Please post a response if you read this- thought provoking threads do the mind good. But anyways, World 66 is a ripoff- Why? You get Xp for your essence, and no material gains at all. Using lunar magics, binding necklaces, and dueling rings, I get MORE Xp an hour for the SAME amount of gp spent for pure essence AND I get some nifty combination runes to boot. Laws - 9.5 per ess Death - 10 per ess Smoke at fire altar - 9.5 per ess (fire, air) Steam at fire altar - 10 per ess (fire, water) Lava at fire altar - 10.5 per ess (fire, earth) The method is simple- wear the bind ammy to get the 100 percent chance of combination. Wear a dueling ring to get to the fire altar fast- and back to cw fast as well. And finally, you use lunar magics so one doesn't need any talismans to combine runes. And this spell only costs a measly 2 astral, 7 fire, and 7 water. I myself bring a water staff since waters are the hardest elemental runes to get if you are a skiller. Just look at your bank, it'll be the lowest :P Of course, in terms of comparing to world 66, you must have an adequate amount of emeralds and astral runes to boot, AND be level 82 magic. Seems expensive. But for me emeralds are not a problem- randoms and npcs drop much more than I can use. Dueling rings are too hard to sell anyways. And as for astral runes, you can high alch at the Moon Isle rune shop, and buy 10 at a time for 50 ea, as they spawn fast. Basically, I know a lot of people have extra of these as there is no market for them :P and I know people do use astrals. So this shouldn't be too much of a problem. The problem is this, however: I cannot seem to figure out a decent system for an player emergant rune company to embrace, using the fire altar method of combination runes. But I do know it could be more proficient for RCers if a combination company could embrace some runners. Crafters would not need emerald rings... But usually it is newbs who run for the law company, and they probably cannot afford rings. They could, however, be taught to use the duel arena bank. Another problem: there would not be as many runners because there is no market for combination runes. Unfortunely, combination runes crafters, at the very least, would have to give back the ess, along with the runes, for newbs to even see this as a potential marketable activity when compared to running laws. But even under this consideration this methodology still wouldn't be as profitable as law running. No one is going to buy loads of combination runes 300 ea (at least because there is no market atm). Although they save a space, combination runes really don't have any function in the game yet- in other words, there isn't anything to do, YET in the game for that 1 spot to be REALLY REALLY crucial to have... In the latter scenario, the combination crafter would get marginally more rc xp for supplying spells and binding necklaces... So, the crafter would expect compensation by not giving as many combination runes or pure ess back, but of course, the runner knows the law company has more to offer them then. So there is not a consensus for both parties to agree on. I do know combination runes is a faster and cheaper way, SOLO, to high crafting. However, I contend a company would never exist in the games current state of no function for combination runes.. jagex should make a good minigame where combination runes are needed :P What do you think? EDIT: Son Aiden9 from runescape forums writes: Well I looked into it and this is what I got for me to get to 91: 559k laws so 55900k (55,900,000) in cost 506k lava at fire alter so unless the cost of spells and emerald rings is less the 5300k (5,300,000) it would not be more efficient money wise. Having said that having to craft 53k less runes would be tempting and the added mage exp is nice too. Hope my input helps I'll check back l8r to see how its going. ----- I will add- you won't be subject to the slowdown times and human error times involved with the law company- the faster xp is also more consistant.
  6. no, there is a bug, i got an iron ore once crafting cosmics lol Not sure what it's about.
  7. skipped over posts so excuse me if its been said my problem with pc is that the best way to level many combat related things is pc, right? so the logical choice for the people who know this is to do pc. pc offers almost none of what 'training' offers; the 120s that ive heard ask for where a common city is exemplifies this (they don't explore, get to know the games other mechanics and substance, etc.). Rather, it bothers me the best way to level is pc as it offers no knowledge of the game Do I have a problem with this? Not really, as I don't talk to anyone anymore. Although on the upside, it has shown to be quite positive for productivity of elite teams that go to boss monsters, or staking (was impossible for 120s to stake at one point, as it was hard to find someone your level), and now, the 120 elites have created a system of dueling (hi, fight? pot) in a sense at the edge of wild. In a sense, PC did kill the total pointless time used to train up to 120s, and now people have time to do the things that matter.
  8. It's 2007, and every few months i still see rsc nostalgics being posted, its amazing how awesome rsc was :P there is no one 'famous' in rs2. at least in the same ways.
  9. I probably haven't explained this in a few years, had a character started around dragon slayer (found on download.com haha) named lord cky for anyone who remembers. Played way too much, got number 1 herb, decided to quit. One night in late 2002 i daydreamed about a new prayer beast, i d r. Rest is history. I am not very active in the community anymore.
  10. imo that room will show its function when all lights are lit.
  11. Honestly, selling the joke and giving a gift is completely illegal; although the technicality (counter-argument being bartering in runescape has to be mutual on both sides to be legal. Giving a gift of 10 million gp seems to have the consent of both parties, when the circumstance is RS GP sales.) seems to have loopholes for legitimacy, one must remember their political science and ethical philosophy and understand intent is the foremost thing that matters in legality and morality. I've got to be honest; the thought of churning out a duel arena persona and making millions to sell for rl money is compelling. Times are tough; I can't believe the amount of economic inequality and despair that reside even in the good old US. Minimum wage doesn't cut it for that college education we're supposed to be stratified to. But anyways, I'm taught and believe real life is much more important than any ethical issues of a video game. Then again, my data file is theirs and is not mine. And so, illicit action (rl sales), which is defined/determined by Jagex, intertwines with real life economics. It is definitely a black market with the same economic attributes that drugs have. It is money not accounted for. The difference between the two black markets is rl trading is not acculturated to be wrong in any contemporary culture's eyes... There are so many seemingly pious arguments for all sides of the issue. There are just too many contradictions we are currently being subject to, and the answers, let alone many questions, have not even been discussed within any scholarly context and is not in the books. I find this all so fascinating and find the sociological perspective of it all even deeper than I ever thought it could be. And well, this is where I come up with the premise that those damn electrons create tangible worlds as real as our own; this has to be true if we cannot find a common accepted value between the two, the more time goes on, the more we innovate these amazing electronic social networks and realities, the more prevalent that idea becomes locked in my head. In other words, perceptions keep on a changing, even if ya currently think ya got the right one 8-) Sorry for the rambling, longest post in years ftw
  12. not worth it to pk with it (considering u could mess up and lose it), +4 str is only 1 more damage
  13. collectors tend to be newbs, but the attacker relies on them to call out styles. They just don't understand the consequences of that.
  14. Dragon b axe, from the time rs2 has started, has risen my str to 119 a few times. Why? idk but trust me, if anyone remembers my anakey max hit post feuds, there is no way to go above 119
  15. the accumulator is buggy. almost made a thread about it but it isn't topic worthy. right when the quest came out I was crafting cosmics and an iron ore appeared in my inventory after i withdrew ess from pouches. did not have accum on me(did right before it). not sure how it happened, tried again and it didn't work.
  16. there will be a lot of high lvl content, pc set the marker
  17. people are losing out on the episodic experience of the other much more relevant methods of the gameplay.. since xp is often preferred... this causes such an array of social and i would say even slight socioeconomic problems for others of high "class" (categorized by level).. would make a great essay.. could be called "pc products - liberals or just newbs?" haha all in all, pest control is a statement by jagex that is changing the direction of the game. they're smart. i used to think they were dumb. but they are teh smart. they proved it to me over the years with some of these sometimes absurd updates; only to find later a true systematic beauty within the game change- once fully explored
  18. once it becomes habit ill like it slows me down too much to think about it atm. ironic thing = weighs 5 kg, which is a hefty amount to add to something that requires runnin' problem solved though if you don't mind using energy pots all in all, good for rangin tho
  19. i_D_r replied to Zygimantas's topic in General Discussion
i hated it at first also, but jagex are genius in design tbh farming is wonderfully set up and is very useful for proficient use of time to obtain items but with less people using this feature of the game that means less saturation of jagex's idealisms come about (less integration to the degree they want in a average players experience), and more economic advantages for people using it
  20. good sociological question for our current experimental mmo gaming age cannot answer this with a brief post
  21. its how native americans say hello (lol funny to meh, live around swarms of em)
  22. i do, often rs2 is honestly so different.
  23. i can do hp str att def range
  24. why have the prices been going down for anyway? In pretty mutch every server green drags there are lvl 60 - 80's with names like "Xiadouso001,Xiadouso002,Xiadouso003" and so on... :| If only I saw these set of quotes years ago.. prolly woulda pooped them pantelones
