If you got soul split, it is ideal here, since protection prayers don't work.

If you have less than 100m, flip raw materials. It's too risky otherwise.

The DFS has its uses, but not in slayer and other places you can get a shield that works just about the same at 1/10 of the price. I knew I shoulda edited; yes I hit 0s on chickens, albeit rare. There's a point where you won't hit many at all though, depending on the creature. I did read and I don't agree. I don't hit 0s so i don't need the defender, albeit I do agree the +2 str may be negligible, depending on your current strength bonus. Thats obviously a lie, everyone hits a 0. I got 99 attack and i still hit 0's. I know people who have tested it out and using the Defender in training gets higher exp/hr rates then using a DFS. There's there nothing wrong with merching. GJ on 1b, hope to be there someday myself.

People wear dfs cause the +2 bonus is better than a defenders accuracy bonuses for high levels. They almost never miss on most creatures, so accuracy isn't needed.

Simple enough is pking. It's cause if you're any good you own in f2p and never die.

Not related to rares, but I have a question about swamp tar and gaum-harralander tar and hopefully someone can answer this. Around August 6th, 2009, swamp tar took a giant fall in price. It crashed from about 250 all the way down to about 90ish. Since the price of swamp tar is linked to herblore xp, the gaum-harralander tars all bombed as well, respectively. They've been slowly climbing since. I searched the RS news databases, and I see no foreseeable update as to any new monsters, shops, methods, etc. to acquire it faster than before. There is one shop that sells a stock of ten. The personal shop update came out September 2nd, one month after the crash as well. I've thinking maybe there are some bots out there that collect it and sell it on ge. I can't see any other reason for the sudden crash. This is silly, but I'm curious.

I've been messing around with santas recently, and I feel somewhat as if I'm being played with; it's almost like they're being slowly churned into the game (for example, from chessy), although maybe not, there's no true way to tell. I believe this because 1) everytime santas get any momentum they *seem* to get counteracted by hoarders (or flippers, albeit, doubtful) and stay around 34m and 2) the flip potential is terrible and risky. A 30M+ item you can only buy 2 of and make 100-300k off of *maybe* isn't very tantalizing. Whatever the case may be, I've stepped away from santas for good (for now). Who knows, maybe they'll be 40m in a week because of how hot masks are at the moment; as someone mentioned, santas and masks are pretty similar in following general market trends. Speaking of masks, all masks are very hot at the moment- I made about 20m buying and selling within a few days and now called it quits and moved on to other stuff. I've always been conservative with my merching, I don't have time to sit around to trade off crashed items. Although if I had waited, I could of made more. However, masks don't update everyday so I thought I could use my capital elsewhere for greater profits within that time. It's all about preference and how often you log on to merch. As for D bones, check out the herb or potion 180 day graphs. See the first couple troughs on the graph after the herblaw update? This isn't nessecarily an indication of what will happen to D bones; just keep it mind, those dips are from people with a large market hold that paniced/or were ready to reap their profits, they stuck them at min, and others followed until the natural market and smart merchers ate them back up.

Sometimes you want items that are in high demand to make money with them. These rise slowly, so really, they're only a merching tool for others items, and a new snazzy way to stake.

The real question is whether these curses stack among other players curses. And if they stack on the base level of the boss or, or on the current level of the boss. Either way, if they do stack, bosses just got a lot easier. If they don't stack, teams will be planning curse usage among the team.

well kree attacks everyone in room at the same time -> the more players on curses the more those constant 6s will add up. Teaming just got easier. In theory anyways. Couple that with the defense lowering prayers, and kree just got owned.

So in other words, gf kree and arma prices

This. The biggest problem with utilizing BOBs down there was the waterfall. Mith Dragons / Brutals just got easier. Bring a yak+uni and I'm sure you could stay there for quite a while and profit immensely.

Back in rsc they had the drain rates for whatever prayer you looked at; they should bring that back. OT: Ugh, I need to get 100 percent in missing my mummy and do curse of arrav yet <_< Glad I got 99 prayer ages ago though.

Accessibility. Affordability. Reliability. Originality. Key words that have contributed to RS's success. Some of the gameplay is decent, but meh, a lot of it is terrible and poorly thought out. But RSers put up with the bad to put up with the cool niche of it. It's similar to other MMORPGs but yet in a way different ball park. Hard to compare it to them.

It's definitely around 1/250. But again, it's random. Wealth definitely helps claw drops here.

Interesting query. I have my own theory. I'd say 2 main reasons they're starting to slope: 1. More and more people are hunting them due to: a. More and more people doing WGS. b. Hunting straight for Dclaws is (was, or now, similar) more profitable than GWD. 2. Most items, are, in fact, starting to reach an equilibrium with inflation. Some are starting to get hit before others. Gear will, in fact, reach a point and start falling or stabilize. 76king aside or not, pked drops are static in values. Because of rising gear, gear is dynamic in value. For example, let's look at this logically: If arma hilt reached 1 bil (which it won't), the amount of people that will hunt for it will greatly increase, and the people who 76ked or pk for money will come to a halt. Granted, regular pking still actually adds gp to the game, but I believe that gp will pump up rare prices ultimately, not gear. A lot of high-end raws have dropped 5-10 percent within the past week. Raws are going to fall before GWD because of the sheer amount of people gathering raws compared to MHers. Also, claws are getting hit before GWD items because of 1. I could be wrong, but this is how I see it, and either a statue nerf or a money sink needs to enter the game so rares don't get ridiculous. Sorry for venturing off the subject :ugeek:

I would kill green dragons and bank them and use an altar, or even just bury them on the spot. It won't take you long at all to get 55 prayer either way.

Ya do granite. Much better than iron. I know you probably don't have pack yack, but it's actually really good money if you use the yak to bank the big granites.

I heard the surge spells are really good xp, and I'm pretty certain you'd still profit there. So I'd start out with fire wave, then do surge as soon as you can. In terms of armor, I would just use daganhai (pray bonus) and arma ammy and protect range as needed. Depending how weak they are to mage and where you kill them exactly, you could even mix and match with more prayer gear, and give up some mage bonus's.

imo. all dragon armor stats should have melee accuracy bonuses. such as med helm - +2 full helm - +4 chain - + 3 plate - + 5 legs/skirt - +3 square - +2 kite - +5 So the full set would be +17 bonus. imo, not too overpowered, especially when you'd be trading off 16 strength bonus of dfs/neitz/bandos, or 14 if you use a rune defender. And it would hardly have any applications anyways, but it would have some utility, such as with 2h weapons.. such as the spear at FFA corp, ss at waterfiends, or spear at dragons. Although 2h weaps could only yield +12 bonus then.

Sell guthans -> Buy SS/Z spear and go to waterfiends. You might get hit a lot, but it's a short tele to bank and back.

Yep it is; the only problem, at least for me, is acquiring grenwall spikes. They should balance out soon though.
