12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
yeah i noticed this too. I use the CLS at sw and the percentage seems to last longer per every 10 minutes. My guess is that it degrades only while you are in combat, which is the best situation I can think of for them. I'll know for sure soon, seeing as I'm getting 80 tonight. And at the Me_Hate_Everything response: Don't feed the troll. It likes being fed.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Edit @ the above: Why continue the argument? It's pointless. 84 herb is an unimportant level. It's interesting to see what others get as drops from pking. Unimportant? I just spent 45m getting it a week ago. Its importance is that with 84, you can boost easily to make super antfires. However, this thread isn't about whether or not you guys think other people's pictures are important, but rather, it is for people to post pics. That being said, stop the arguing over what pics should be posted. You all have your own opinions, and you aren't going to change someone else's, so just cut it out, it's getting annoying. This. Found in my own archive. Dated March 2008. The old style of the Tinderbox brings back so many memories.

C rapier vs C longsword
fair enough :o btw I kinda edited a little calculation into my previous post. I don't know if the assumptions I started on are accurate, but I'm fairly confident that they are. my assumptions were that runescape's accuracy works on a DND dice roll system. and the numbers rolled for accuracy are calculated in the same way that our max hit is calculated. if this is true, the chaotic rapier should be equally good as a longsword if the chaotic rapier is only 50% accurate. (i dont fight bosses so idk how accurate players are on bosses) we definitely are less than 50% accurate on other players so the longsword > rapier in PVP. The thing that interests me the most is the Chaotic Maul. It has a massive crush bonus and can hit quite a bit harder that a Godsword. It will likely never be effective for training since the speed of the weapon will hold it back, but it might be excellent in some area of the game. Slash is primarily used in a sizable portion of areas, so you never know. One thing is for sure: Waterfiends shall cry. =p Now that I think about it... If it is good enough, it could be a nice increase in charm gathering at waterfiends. Again, just theory based on speculation, but it might be worth while to test.

C rapier vs C longsword
rapier hits 1.25 times for every 1 hit the longsword does, whereas the max hit for the longsword is only 1.10x the rapier so the rapier is about 13% better on most slayer tasks, maybe that's slightly higher in some books, but not mine You completely ignored accuracy Sure some monsters you will not miss often on, but that just means the longsword would have missed that much less wait, i thought your argument revolved around the fact that the longsword is only "slightly" worse than the rapier for slayer, and the longsword is great for bosses. of course i ignored defenses, slayer monsters have very low defense. Very few slayer monsters have high enough defense such that the accuracy would make up for it. out of all of kuradal's monster list, the only ones that have decent melee defense are: All i can think of is skeletal wyverns, since all other dragons are weak to stab anyways, and maybe abby demons, and black demons it's not like you can't use a rapier for boss hunting anyways. Heh. I wasn't the one who responded to you, but the way you worded it makes it seem that it was aimed at me, and that isn't entirely my theory anyway... Of course, I can be mistaken, but it doesn't matter as I'm going to make a clearer definition of my post reguardless. =p The first sentence was my opinion based on the stats. The second part is a theory based on the few videos that have been released. It basically states that the Chaotic Rapier will be used where defense doesn't matter, such as Slayer, while the Chaotic longsword, with its massive slash bonus, (170 with a Rune Defender, Ammy of Glory/Fury, Dragonstone Ring (i), and Barrows Gloves, or 165 excluding the Ring, or even 172 with an Onyx Ring and Fire Cape) will be the best DPS at most bosses.
-
C rapier vs C longsword
The DPS for the Rapier during slayer should only be slightly higher then the Longsword, while the longsword can also be used for bosses. In general, I think it will come down to the defense of the monster that defines which would be better in a given situation. It's all just theory right now since no real major tests have been conducted (to my knowledge). Time will tell.

Don't you think it's kinda lame and arrogant to have Private Chat set to 'Friends'?
@ the above: You need to calm down. This right here. Your all idiots. You cant compare a phone number to a Runescape private message. Its like when people try to compare Runescape to World of Warcraft. Mine is always on. Im willing to go the extra distance to be nice and help people. Actually you can and he did. He did with good accuracy. OT: Sometimes I just don't want to talk. Sometimes I just want to be alone with my thoughts while I grind or do Barrows. If that makes me lame and arrogant, so be it.

Dragon Plate vs Bandos Plate
I like Bandos simply because it is one of the best non-degradable top pieces for maging Barrows. Good defense along with only a -15 magic attack bonus, along with a slight strength bonus. Makes 2 specing Karil all the easier. Its massive Range defense bonus doesn't hurt when you happen upon a Karil tunnel, either. =p

Why Dragon Bone prices will keep increasing...
besides the fact that prayer is NOT a money sink...well besides the making of gilded alters. Same would go with Herblore.

Inflation..
Although Pvp drops played its part, alching plays a bigger part.

Why Dragon Bone prices will keep increasing...
Why do sharks go up and down in price? For the same reason: overall price increase/decrease/stability is rarely a perfect line. It is more of a line that can't hold it's booze.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
Why do people keep trying to make value judgment on other peoples items! I cross stitch a bunch, and have a whole collection of cross stitching books. I'm sure you wouldn't care a flip about them, but I love them. And the argument is not about staff, it's about the real world money being used to get in game items. It's about them saying one thing and doing another. It's about breaking the wall between real life and game life. The item itself is of no consequence. And five dollars and you leisure time may not be serious business to you, but my money and my leisure time are limited, and as such, I try to get the most out of them I can. And I agree with qeltar, the arguments saying it's not money for in game items are just playing semantic games You completely missed my point, yet gave it more validity. I'll spell it out for you: It is an item. A useless status symbol of an item, much like an expensive care that gets less Mpg or Kmpg. People will gawk at you, and you will smile, but at the end of the day, all you have is something that will be replaced with the "next big thing" in a few years. It is worthless and nothing to get worked up over. As for the "real world money for items" bit: you are a moron. In case you can not tell for whatever reason, I'm being blunt. It is a reward for buying a ticket, which would make Jagex assume that you are going to attend the event. A mistake on their part? Yes. Them offering items for cash? No. They are simply making assumptions that, if someone buys a ticket to an event, they will go to it. (SHOCKER!) The transaction is for the ticket. The item is meant for attendance. Jagex will learn from this and give out any future items via event booths at said event. It is their first convention, so mistakes are bound to happen. tl;dr You cannot judge the stance of an issue held by a company by 1 occurrence. As I said, Mountain out of a Mole hill. Now, to solve your immanent post, filled with emotion unfounded: It will boil down to, "Your opinion is different then mine, so it's wrong! *unjust moral examples* *personal attack* *more false examples* *up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-b-a-fireball motion into your Super for finisher*" So, here is my response: You need to calm down, take a cookie, and eat it. While eating it, you need to examine your priorities and why you are wasting your precious, limited time expressing an emotional opinion about something that will not matter next year because Jagex will hold another event and that event will give out another item. Only time will tell if Jagex learns from this mistake. Oh, and don't respond to me. If the above failed to capture your attention and show you just how much you are exaggerating the situation, (Making a mountain out of a mole hill) then a further post will also fail to do so, even if I spend more then 5 minutes on it next time. No arguing with the illogical and irrational. To anyone wondering why I care to make this post: The last 10 pages.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
Amazing... A small item with no value other then status can make even rational people go into "this is serious buisness, bro!" mode... Human nature... Human flaws. Making a mountain out of a mole hill at its finest.

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
I've been soloing from lv16-44. The random people are normally very uncooperative and all they care about is picking up drops. So even if in a perfect theoretical way teams earn faster xp, I'm sure soloing is faster and more enjoyable, unless you know your team. I solod from 1 to 60 doing one dungeon in around 20 mins, getting like 12k xp an hour max. After that i resorted to RSOF 5:5 large dungeons and got ~35k per dungeon in ~1 hour 15 mins with much less work. This skill is defenitely team based and soloing is ridiculously undervalued. The teams on RSOF are always very well led and i have yet to be frustrated after doing around 12 5:5-s. By the way, why isn't primal warhammer mentioned at all? it's more accurate and a bit less powerful than the spear, but you do have the luxury of wering a kite. Also, spears are rubbish against plate bodied monsters. Cause making a kite is a waste of time. It is less of a waste of time and more of a waste of resources. That Kite could have equiled Platelegs or a Plateskirt. (because some bosses favor crush) Maybe a Helm and a half since no one binds helms. It could even become a spear to replace that war hammer if you alch the hammer for the 100k required for the ore from the smuggler.

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Modern Warfare 2: Because if you're dumb enough to pay 15 bucks for a couple of maps, you deserve what you get. Though I am disappointed that they cut out any zombie or new weapons, I'm still content that 15 bucks keeps Activision alive for a bit longer, and I'll get to keep those maps for a few years instead of a month. Or if you are dumb enough to buy that horrible game...Reach is going to destroy that game so hard there will be only CoD fan boys playing it. You sound like a fan boy. No one likes a fan boy. Just saying. ^_^

If they do, they damn well better release the ability to sell back rewards for a 100% refund. +1. I just spent 3 weeks to get it because it is the best mage item you can get. If better is released... Lol.

Redeem-Code
That explains why they dont use them in war of legends... ..oh wait. Jagex did not create War of Legends, they are just publishing it for another company. The company probably wanted a micro transaction system. Also, to those who says "This is unfair because some people can't afford to go!", GET A FREAKING JOB. Its not your finances, its your indolence. If you wanted to go, you would work hard to go. No one is going to hand you a ticket. OT: I wonder what the item would be. A cape with a disco fever emote would be BA. Yes because getting a job v(I currently work 2) is ALL that keeps someone from flying from another country to this. It's over 110+ usd for the ticket to the event alone. Add in the cost of a plane ticket and you have a situation where "get a freaking job" is not an acceptable solution. Far from it.

Redeem-Code
I'd laugh if everyone gets the same code.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_7dcvcK1OM the video for that screenie Gf to all the people who thought Rapier is better... The rapier is for training. The Longsword is for hitting. They are both better then the other in their given fields.

A Second Bonus Week
Why bar skills because of their buyability or the time it takes to gather materials? Such a silly concept... the segregation of skills. In my eyes, if there is to be another bonus exp weekend, it should be unannounced until the day of implementation. No matter what you do the economy is going to take a hit one way or another. At least this minimizes it to a week after and rewards those who happen to have the items at hand. My 2 cents.
