  1. Actually, I think the newb one is the only accurate stereotype. The other two are completely wrong though. I think the guy in full bandos and dfs is actually a good stereotype, he just described it wrong. It's not a pro slayer, it's a slayer who is obsessed by strength and showing off. How is it showing off? Just how? Wearing Bandos isn't about an "obsession with strength." It is about DPS and hitting as high as possible as fast as possible. It's this little thing people call "fun" that people, like me, like to have. DPS? I generally slay in SH/Swars cape/fury/zerker(fero)/defender/prossy top/v skirt/d boots/whip of course. Oh and i also use extremes on ever task repotted when i hit 120/99 and i also use this thing called piety and a set of something called dragon claws. Oh yeah and I have something like 3k special restore pots in the bank to use. And your waste on bandos/dfs is better how? Because I can stew Extremes, have Claws, Piety, can have 3k Spec Restores whenever I do so wish, a Zerker Ring (i), etc. It is better because not only do I have everything you have, minus the SW cape, I am also having the type of fun I love. Fun > your idea of "what is better" (which is insanly narrow btw.)

  3. So much is wrong with this thread that I cannot form a complete thought to encompass it all... It'd take me time that I'm not willing to invest.
  4. This is the cape version of the Bandos vs Dragon debate. Fire Cape: Hitting high and Dps with Melee / Defence Applied to Armor: Bandos / Barrows SW Cape/Ardy Cape: Prayer Bonus Applied to Armor: Proselyte / Verac's Skill Cape: Looks Applied to Armor: Dragon The only difference is that a Skill Cape it far better overall the Dragon is when you compare all the other things that can go in the equipment slot for the respective items.
  5. Bonus points if it was Tuesday in your Time Zone when you posted it. =D
  6. Underlined the irony. IT IS FOR TEH LULZ!!!!!1!!!1!!one! And he said near-perfect. 1 error is near-perfect. =p
  7. No Meantion of the "'Stop having fun!' Guy?" [spoiler=The "Stop Having Fun" Guy] The gamer equivalent of the Arrogant Kung Fu Guy. He's a Hard Core gamer, plays in all tournaments, and knows everything about how to play. He knows all the secret moves (even the glitches), the most effective strategies, and the quickest ways to completely destroy his opponent. He's completely "above" the mantra of casual play: He doesn't play just for fun, he plays to win. He's good, and he knows it; he can just be a douche about it. This kind of player is good, and there's nothing wrong with that. But he is also extremely arrogant. He's completely intolerant of play styles other than his own. If you challenge his beliefs, he'll automatically call you a Noob, a Scrub, or something similar. Anyone who doesn't play like him instantly simply doesn't know as much as he. You'll always see this kind of player arguing that the debated Game Breaker is completely and utterly legitimate. After all, it's not about playing, it's about winning, right? Much like the Scrub, the player probably won't be listening to logic or facts. It's either agree or be wrong. Expect this to cause a big annoying (but sometimes amusing) Pro-Scrub Flame War. Yep, that's right, he's the opposite of the Scrub. But just as annoying. This kind of player takes the "pro" mentality to an annoying extreme (generally giving other tournament players a bad name), while the Scrub takes the casual mentality to an annoying extreme (generally giving other casual players a bad name.) In the real world, there's room for both, and game companies generally try to put something in their games for both sides; see Player Archetypes for details. What ultimately makes the Stop Having Fun Guy undesirable isn't the rulesetting; it is the attitude. What distinguishes the Stop Having Fun Guy from a regular competitive/tournament player who simply likes playing to win is that the Stop Having Fun Guy believes that his way is the only proper way to play the game. 8. I can't believe I missed this... Range underpowered? Fast attacks from Crossbows? Range useless? The Stat weakening spells in the standard spell book being brought into the equation? Saying that the triangle is "more balanced then you think" and then following it up with... That. My head just exploded.
  9. If that were to happen, the Fally guards will never be the same.
  10. Guthan's was powered by *insert lore I can't remember here.* And Blood magic is well... Magic. A wizard did it.
  11. They day the Combat triangle is balanced is the day Runescape dies. True balance will never exist simply because the players will do what they always do: adapt and find ways of using the provided methods and tactics in ways the developers never expected to gain an advantage over their opponent(s). If you need proof, look at every good fighting game ever. 0.02
  12. If it's fun to me, I'm going to play it reguardless of the target age group.
  13. full wipe=perma ban, since it's starting an account all over again. I like that idea. Quests, to. And all Minigame scores. And halved exp for the first month.
  14. No. I am not "to good or too high leveled." Sometimes I'm in a bad mood and don't want to throw that onto someone when I get the most common question(s) I get. Sometimes I just don't want to talk.
  15. And Maul owns them both when PKing. When wearing rune (as the majority of PKers do), you just can't compete with the 180+ crush bonus it has... You'll eventually get comboed to death. But I don't PK. I must also point out that this is only for Pvp situations. When it comes to monster hunting things will likely be different.
  16. Been a while since I've had something under 1k rank...
  17. Yeh, i find that boss to be pretty frustrating. Even when I click out on time, lagging deters me from moving, but doesn't deter the shadow forger from using its special, (which is a guaranteed KO no matter how high your HP is). I've never seen it 1 hit someone from max Hp. Never.
  18. cautiously optimistic. it hasn't been released yet, so it's all speculation, really. Rumour has it the main architect behind slayer was the main architect behind dungeoneering, look at the response to dungeoneering, think what it would have been if it was fronted that the slayer-developer made it! My thoughts about what you are saying in a lovely gif form. sorry, can't make it out cause his hand's covering his face. care to give a hint? Well, you see, it isn't the Well ell oh ell! I see what you did thar! Perhaps you would like a lovely facepalm? Or perhaps a cat, in a humorous situation, telling you exactly what needs to be said IN LOLCAT! Or maybe a good Demotivator? I'm sure there is something that fits the situation.

  20. It's all taxed :ohnoes: But really, that's a horrible error. 21k for a needle lol 81k per feather. :P A tier 2 Axe costs 200x more then the tier 3. o.o
  21. I spend it on whatever is closest to a new level at the time.
  22. try 1 week of nolifing to max all skills eh i think they decided 99 for high lvl forums and 99 for maxe dout cape 120 is for the nolifers but i wish we could have 3rd bind at 75 i mean get 99 and still same binds as lvl 50 pre batch 2 and im not optimistic on batch 2s release date is it better for long run overall ranks to train dungion or total exp ? If you want overall ranks it will have to be Dungeoneering, but if you want total exp it'll have to be with *fast exp skill here.* To me, Dungeoneering sounds like a more enjoyable experience. =p
  23. I have a feeling it might be a while. =p
