glad i made my poledancing pic before that!

I tried it a few times, but ended up lagging badly and dying once or twice. When I got to the 702 I didn't have enough supplies left to finish him off. I didn't have the resources then to try more than a couple times, but I'll give it a go after I get 90 prayer :D

yeah i got tons of pics for our guide to pick from :D

What (good) question would YOU ask a top 5 player?
oddfaery2 replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
Seriously , oddfeary has been quite polite in asking that you not ruin his thread with these useless posts , dont force me to clean out the thread or even worse , get rid of it completely , its actually quite interesting to read some of the intelligent answers (even though i know all the answers to them :P ) please, feel free to delete that post :D I had somebody come through last night and delete quite a few, and have no problems doing so again. And you'd better not delete my thread cuz... cuz... I'll say bad stuff about you and hide it in the guides I update... so there! ;) -
What (good) question would YOU ask a top 5 player?
oddfaery2 replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
I dunno. You'd have to ask the editor. I know a few I'd ask, like... 1: Obviously you either play to be the best in the game, or to have every skill maxed out as much as possible. Which of these is it for you? At what points have you switched between these two. 2: (especially for yuffie and zez if they were questioned) It seems that Zezima has reigned over the #1 skill total and that Lilyuffie88 has reigned over the #1 xp total, and that it has been this way for a long time. Has there ever been competition, even if unspoken, between the two of you to have #1 in both? How has this competition, if there, motivated your gameplay? -

sigh... I really don't want to have to bring moderators into this thread... if you don't have a worthwhile question to ask them... then just don't post. For those of you posting real questions, thank you for your replies :D -

While you may be curious how THEY did it... just about anybody can tell you cost-effective ways to raise these skills, as several have it up to 99 (really anybody 90+ can answer that). W66LC... nobody needs a top 5 player to answer that. EVERYBODY knows runners are the fastest way, and abyss RCing is the fastest without runners. Depending on how this is meant, it could be a pretty good question, could you elaborate on what kind of aspect you're looking for? It is pretty vague as stated. -
I was just reading through some posts and noticed that a lot of people seem to be interested in what's going on with the top players (Zezima, The Old Nite, lilyuffie88, etc). I have also noticed that any time I see one of these players in game, they are just BOMBARDED with questions, many of which I'm sure are just hopes for attention so they can say, "omg Zezima talked to me!" or something equally pointless... For those people, this thread ISN'T for you. This poll is for people who have legitimate questions that they think would be best-answered by a top player, whether it be about their style of play, what motivates their style of play, how much they play, or maybe even what suggestion they may have for other players wanting to reach the upper ends of the high scores. So, what good, constructive question would YOU ask a top 5 player if he or she took the time to answer it? (For those who think they're rude or stuck up, just imagine what kind of harrassment they get, and you'll understand why they tend to ignore everybody)

umm... ever since the abyss came out, everybody has seen how much money there is in it...

Buying and selling sigs risky, or even illegalized?
oddfaery2 replied to lazy_k's topic in General Discussion
i saw your point... and i've already posted in other threads that people are being too bloody paranoid about wrongful bans... -
I'd hardly consider myself materialistic, and the only reason I'd fight high level monsters would be for the items. Those monsters take a lot of time and materials to fight, considering the little xp you get (in comparison to fighting things you can hit more easily), the difficulty of the fight, and the extra resources you consume. If it wasn't for the rare drops, why would anybody fight them? Nobody's going to choose to lose gp (on a large scale) in expenses fighting a high level monster when they can make money fighting low level monster. Killing it once for the sake of saying you killed it is one thing... but very very few would go if there wasn't the chance that their efforts would at least pay for their expenses. Look at the KBD... as far as i know you're lucky to get a d med or left half off him at best. He's never got people fighting him any more because people can get more valuable drops and use the same amount of resources at something else.

honestly I don't know if I'd want to go without prayer pots. or food better than lobs. I've had dharock hit 90+ on me before, and without sharks to heal that's pretty much certain death if he hits again (and likely if he doesn't either way). What I do is wear guthan and take runes to use ice spells on all the melee people. When I get to the catacombs I go to dharock first and pray against melee, then go after ahrim (the prayer pots in case dharrock isn't there). in between enemies i use guthan on the small things to heal, and after I get the chest I teleport to ice mountain, recharge prayer, then teleport to canifis. I generally break even on runes, and never use more than 1-2 sharks or 1-2 doses of prayer a trip.

Buying and selling sigs risky, or even illegalized?
oddfaery2 replied to lazy_k's topic in General Discussion
there's a fine line between a real world trade and game-related services. I have heard before that Jagex is ok with people buying sigs, but I don't know if I ever saw that officially, so don't quote me on that. it'd be like banning me if somebody gave me gp for working on crew... I never gave them an item in real life, just provided a game-related service (and no, I have not been given RS items or gp for working on the site... nor desire it). -
I really think people are being too paranoid about this. People loan out items all the time that are worth millions, people have birthday parties all the time and get gifts, people have friends smith or craft for them millions worth of supplies at a time... There's an obvious difference between real world trades and gifts in most situations. Any worries you have are speculation of how their system works, and any loopholes foreseen are as well. Until people are wrongly banned, I'm not going to try to attack Jagex on this, so power to them! I really hope this trend continues with enforcing the rules. Lack of rule enforcement was the primary reason I, and many others, lost interest in Utopia (the game I played before I even knew RS existed). Trust me, no matter what they do to prevent it, people will improperly get banned (and hopefully reinstated), and some people will get by the system, surely, but the fact that they are at least TRYING to enforce these rules keeps the game worth playing. I'd rather a few oversights than needing to cheat in order to have any chance of success in the game. What I'd REALLY like to see Jagex go after next are all the players I see with inappropriate names. I've seen people with up to 120 combat who have names that never should've made it past their first month of playing. Especially with the wrongful ban of Limparse, you'd think they'd start taking care of some of these truly inappropriate names (e.g. just today I saw people 115+ with names including "fahqu" or "suxcox")

your DAM right. fm is so useless, too bad they cant make something Worth it.. it was probably something they added in just for another skill :o!!! they did finally make a good use for firemaking (pyres), but then mystic armor came out and it was useless again. Wish i'd seen that coming, I would've stocked up on a few thousand of the oil things you needed to make the logs. That place is pretty good money and xp.

I know i've had 119 and 126, but I don't remember any other high numbers. I usually get the fun experience of the steam changing from blue right as I click on it, or right as I approach, and doing so for at least 10 clicks in a row... rather annoying.

you can get 750k xp an hour fletching... can't do that cooking :P

Tip.It Times Presents: The Rares Market
oddfaery2 replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
My former mentality completely! I used to make it a point not to own rares and get everything from skills, but finally caved after I got 85 slayer and had WAY more gp than I could use at once. Rares are a good "investment" if you have the gp stocked up and aren't going to be using it. I'd never go crazy and put all my effort into making gp for a phat, but if I had 80m saved up and nothing to use it on, I'd definitely buy one just to sit in my bank for a while. -
This week's Tip.It Times has been released. Feel free to discuss the article or post any comments. If you have any criticism, please make sure it's constructive! :D

lol, i didn't feel like getting and using over 100m worth of rune bars on darts. addy ftw! :D (note I wasn't saying that you couldn't get faster xp in fletching... just that I've yet to see faster xp in another skill)
-
its been empty, but i seen a macroer cutting magic logs again today. No it has not. I caught 30 on world 16, and 10 on world 68 yesterday. Now there are none on. They've been there most days this week infact. so... they might not be macroers, i got a pure miner lvl 3 that mines ess 4 me 2 craft :D So either you drop trade or macro and call it a pure ess miner...seriously, who makes pure ess miners? :? (And ess is terrible exp, don't say that you're leveling up on it. I think you two may have taken his post the wrong way... maybe not... but way that sounded to me was that a pure miner gets him ess.. not that he owns the account. Many buyers tend to talk about their consistent sellers that way.

u seriously got 750k xp in one hour with addy darts ur a god!!! 8) woa man u can get 99 fletching in like a day 8) :P no, i got 1.2-1.3m xp in an hour and 40 minutes (including the time to walk to KBD) -- that's just the hourly rate I estimated.
-
lol yeah, everybody knows fletching's the fastest xp in the game. *has yet to see anybody beat 750k xp an hour in another skill* (addy darts, before you ask)

Failing Agility Obstacles -- Unknown factors?
oddfaery2 replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
I agree. And also, what you people are thinking of is too complicated for Jagex. Nothing else in RS is this complicated, so why should this be an exception? # of items in inventory being a factor is no more complicated than when you get told you can't pick items up while your bag is full... it's not like I'm suggesting something completely off the wall. And no, I didn't forget. I noticed at 70-73 how I pretty much never failed and started keeping track, and was pretty surprised I went so long without a single fall. I would've definitely noticed when the streak was ruined. I did go back today with less items and still fell once or twice though (was very little, but was double what I used to carry) today... It is entirely possible either Jagex updated the zip line or that my 500k xp of no failures was a fluke.
