Really? I'm extremely curious as to how. Just as an example, in North Carolina, the average execution costs $2.16 million dollars, as opposed to a fraction of that by keeping a prisoner in a prison. They don't just chop off their heads with a guillotine. California also spends more money on capital punishment than on keeping prisoners (annually).

Some good Alabama laws: And a good Pennsylvanian one Not only are some laws outdated (or seriously oudated), but they can also make no sense. That's how Hitler and Stalin rose to power - they knew the best. Today, politicians get into power because they paid more for advertising than the independent guy who had a budget of $2k, less than a percent of the republican or democrat's budget who got elected.

Are you interested in/fascinated by any other religions?

Actually, if people of mostly european descent just kept to their own pagan gods, the world would probably be a much better place today. Islam to a lesser extent, since they ushered through many mathematical and scientific advances while Europe was still in the dark ages, but they have a violent track record and Jihad's as well, and nowadays, increasing violent radicalism. How many people died because of christianity and islam in history, compared to all the other religions combined? Other religions simply aren't as absolute and violent by nature (and more importantly, their history and how they affected the world). Did buddhists start religious wars and execute blasphemers? Did Taoists? -
That's lame. I've never tried any drugs at all, nor smoked cigarettes, and hardly had any alcohol. Yet I think it's ok for it to be legal. Why? Other countries have already proven scientifically some light drugs are not lethal nor have they led to higher suicide rates, murder rates, etc., and you can already buy and consume it legally in a country such as the Netherlands. They are allowed by law. Why isn't it allowd in the US? Because the stereotypes still prevail. I don't care if somebody uses it. It's their choice, I wouldn't do it just to "chill out". There are better ways. But why punish them for smoking something that causes absolutely no deaths per year, and not punish those who smoke cigarettes and result in 500,000 deaths of taxpayers per year?
-
Cigarette death rate 300,000-500,000 deaths annually Marijuana death rate 0 deaths annually ...Do the math? It's not a hard drug, hard drugs cause about 3-5,000 deaths annually, like heroin, cocaine etc. Nobody hasEVER died from using marijuana, and there is no proof or studies to say it's a "gateway" drug. And no, I don't use it or any other drugs. I just find the huge hypocrisy funny, allow something that claims half a million lives per year, but not something that isn't even lethal. They sure could use some extra tax dollars.

Well... In religion, there's no 'fictional' or 'factual' point of view. :P But yes, especially the northern european pagan gods seem interesting. I don't know if that many people really believe in them anymore; Possibly a handful of elderly people. -
The weapon has a serious vulnerability, also in a political sense: Some protestors could martyr themselves and stand in the way of the beam long enough to get serious injury, or even death, no matter the pain. Way to get a reputation for killing civilians then...

 People will make up stuff out of thin air to try and prove a huge 'mystery' or 'conspiracy'...

I had acne when I was like 13-15 and then it pretty much went away. During that period there was nothing I could do to stop it; No amount of good hygiene, proper washing etc. could stop it. So if you have continuous acne, you aren't causing the problem, it's the darn genes. Get real treatment like roaccutane instead of clearasil, and you will see real results :) (But stronger stuff does require prescription)

Yeah, if you want good XP, play urban ops/battlegroup 8-) Close quarters combat is just for fun. In battlegroup you can get almost 1000p per game, in close quarters you can get 100-200pts if you're lucky and have skill.

I'm interested in all religions, in the sense of studying them. I meet people from all backgrounds, it's good to know how their faith has originated. In todays world it's useful to know about other cultures. -
There was a thread about this on off topic, but I felt this would be a more appropriate forum to re-post to. 8-) Post here if you've played this game or still play it. It's a free download FPS game at http://www.warrock.net/ Acrisius: Rank 13 (assault/anti tank unit) Best kill in 2 seconds:

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... na/h-9.htm And that's just one example. Not do they only have more military equipment and vehicles than the United States, most of it is even more advanced than the technology the US possesses. I have no idea where you got the claims from. Also, China could very easily invade Taiwan if it wanted to; It's only restrictions are international pressure against itself should it choose to do so. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/china/navy.htm They have a massive navy, including nuclear submarines, torpedo boats, etc. 1. They have trained nuclear marines 2. They have stealth planes 3. They have aircraft carriers.

There's no need to report this post as long as it's a discussion about this subject, (cruelty towards animals) which is actually a real issue. But yeah, obviously the chunk of text you wrote was meant to be humorous (though perhaps not so funny).

NO  What was your mother thinking? I mean, she means your best, but... Sitting in a bathtub full of water with already dry skin makes it even worse! It does *not* moisturize your skin, it further dries it up. Darn...

It may be worthwhile to note that the US is currently fighting rebels in Iraq. They're not fighting Al-qaeda or Osama. They're not fighting 'terrorists'. They're fighting men age 18-40 who don't want their country to be occupied. If the US was invaded by any hostile nation, be it North Korea, Cuba, China, I'm sure you'd take up arms and start guerrilla warfare just like those humans are doing. Yes, they sabotage oil pipes. They destroy buildings. They kidnap people. Still, the US is not fighting 'islamic radicals' there. They're doing that in Afghanistan.

No it's not, you have full rights to believe so. But if you want to debate, expect other people to demand proof from you to support your arguments (doughnut for example provided none while I kindly dug up at least 5 links from my bookmarks). Doughnut: Can you give us some concrete proof that for example, Adam and Eve existed, that there is a heaven or a hell, or a creator at all? Don't just post it here, people are offering millions if you can actually give proof. I'd like to see you try. I gave you mine. That's what your story sounds like. You're implying biological evolution didn't happen, everything just popped out of nowhere by a 'supernatural God'. I don't know how the universe was created and I don't imply to know. I was talking about evolution. But since you seem to know, I want to see your proof. http://universe.nasa.gov/ You can read up more on scientific observation about the creation of the universe. I'd expect you to since I too have read the Bible.

Fiji water is average, just a nice waterfall design on the bottle 8-) It's a waste of money to buy bottled water IMO. But still... Fruit juice can actually be less healthy, since it most likely contains lots of carbohydrates. If you can get your vitamins naturally from salad, fruits etc., water is the best drink.

Well.. As you probably know, like Hohto said, fairly over 99% of the stuff on LW is illegal 8-) Yes, I know a huge amount of people use it even on here, I'm not a hypocrite, but this kind of discussion isn't still allowed on tip.it (piracy). Not only that, but torrents are a better choice and there are far more legal torrents than standard P2P downloads.

When it comes to your future, why not? If I had those classes when I was getting an education I probably would've been an A straight student, Instead I got mostly B-C and a few A's. Listening to those lectures could help you a lot later in your life, any smart student would listen carefully. They're not teaching you hypothetical theories and random facts. In those classes they teach you how to earn more money for a house, a car or whatever you need/want.

Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 Link 4 Link 5 Link 5 Almost all of those are links by the US government or universities, at least read them before replying. Also, while you're here, you may read James Randi's website and his $1M challenge. http://www.randi.org/ If you can prove creationism is true, you can earn $1M. More useful than posting here, huh? If you believe in it that is. I gave you proof for mine, if you give yours, not only will you be credible but you'll earn a big load of money.

Just to remind you, you and "millions" of others are in the minority. Most, probably all, serious professional scientists accept the evolution as true. That's how you exist today. I was simply pointing out it doesn't matter if you believe in it or not. Evolution is a theory in the same was as a gravity is a theory. Would you still want to put your head under a guillotine and check if some God will come and save you before gravity WILL chop off your head? It is a proven theory, and if you choose to not believe in gravity either just because it's a theory, it's your bad. Theory does not mean something which isn't proven. While you're at it, since I have read countless religious texts, books, scriptures, why don't you at least read the basic introduction to evolution which I posted? It contains solid proof, cites sources and gives reasoning. But of course, if you disagree and feel it's false, you're free to edit the site. Whether you can prove factual reasoning or not I don't know. You are saying evolution = not true. This is one of the simplest concepts in biology and I'm very surprised you can argue about it just as if you'd say "apples don't contain water - period - because I believe so". Even the pope acknowledges evolution, and he probably knows a lot more about his religion than any of us here.

dont worry, you're not. And to counter that, i say the church is still very helpful, but in reality, unecessary. A non-religion based aid foundation could do the work just as fine, and to be honest, i don't believe the sort of statistics the christian ones give out about conversion numbers. I bet many or the those who have been 'converted' sinply do it for the favouratism im 100% sure the christian organisations give to them. You're digging yourself a hole calling a Christian Organization Liars. Edit: Ah, Good to see we can count on you to tell us what's happened and what hasn't thousands of years ago. And especially since it hasn't been proven yet. It just makes the decision making that so much bit easier, with you around. THANKS BLUELANCER! ^^ Note the Sarcasm Introduction I can give you countless sources about the truthfulness of the evolution theory (which has been proven, and quite honestly, you can't get a good education if you refuse to believe it) On the other hand, there are no real proofs for 'divine' origins I'm not religious but I don't think that has anything to do with my point does it, even if I was a hindu or a christian or a muslim? It doesn't matter if you think evolution didn't happen; It did. Microevolution can happen in even less than one generation. A site even kids can understand Please read more on the subject before refusing to believe it. If you simply discard the whole life work of Charles Darwin and countless other people who proved evolution exists, that's just... Interesting. Also, I'd like to refer to http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=586892, while it may be shortly removed, it's still there. I'm not discussing religion though, I'm responding to your point. Just reminding.

Moved to tech forum 8-) I'm not sure if I understood correctly, but this is a DVD player which is not plugged into anything, right? It may be impossible, because if you go on a vacation and just bring the portable DVD player and your GC, the GC has no power input.. Aa.. Edit- tripsis already commented, I left this reply open after moving it

Hypothetical Scenario: If Tip It got a membership program?
BlueLancer replied to Viktorkrum77's topic in Off-Topic
Sorry, but I think it's not that good of an idea. Remember you can still earn tip.it about $0.05-$0.15 a day by clicking the banner ad. They get paid for click-throughs, not just the views per 1000 banners. As mentioned early, big avatars and signatures can also be a huge annoyance. I brought it up with the staff of another forum I modded, and less than half agreed it's annoying, so they let them keep the massive signatures. I eventually left. It messes up posts and takes up too much space. I think a better idea for a fundraiser (if one was needed) is to charge $1-$2 for a custom title under your name on tip.it, some people would probably find it acceptable 8-)
