  1. He was definitely an ultra-extremist muslim, because neither do I know a single muslim who refuses to listen to music, just as a rough example. Just as I don't personally know any christians that live strictly by the bible in an eternal celibate until marriage, refuse to listen to rock or metal music and never done a prank or anything 'unnormal'. P.S. Yomom, it was clear from the article the organisation funded islamic soldiers in Chechenya. Maybe he didn't know it, but the tax issue itself should've been a clear signal that whatever the organisation is, it ain't funding rainbow and candy research...
  2. Just like buddhists have burned themselves to death in protest of their rulers in the name of their religion, extreme muslims have martyred themselves in hopes of getting into paradise and, during crusades, rather suicide than convert, native americans have sacrificed their own sons to appease the gods. By looking at other countless other cultures and general history, that's nothing unique. Some people will do anything because they were taught it as an absolute truth, regardless where or when they lived. Christianity is just one amongst the masses.
  3. 472,236,666,869,645,213,616
  4. Funny thread 8-) Yeah, I've seen you around megadedhed. 8/10
  5. When Chuck Norris enters the bus, the old people stand up to give HIM the seat ..Ok, sorry 8-) But if you're an employee, investor, etc. and don't own a business, life's pretty good in Brunei :) It's a very wealthy country, so the money you save by not having to pay taxes can be spent if you wish to, with possibly even better shopping and retail opportunities than in some western countries.
  6. I know of a few people who have made themselves Partyhats, real ones. You guys do know that in England, where RS was made, christmas crackers are common and when you pop them with 2 people, you get a random item and a party hat :P I guess it's just not common in other countries then.. Party hats have been around for ages in real life.
  7. Not really :P The water medieval people used, or dinosaurs drunk, went into their systems and never came back (as water, anyways, and likely not into the sea). It wasn't recycled. And tip. it is the only forum that can turn a quote about water percentages into a discussion about powerpuff girls.
  8. I set the recoveries about 5 years ago, but my account is older than that (created in Jan-Feb 2001) 8-)
  9. That's a really good (and effective) idea, but I think it will take a while until the admins implement it. It's useful though; Even RS quest help etc. have spoilers on the forums, the tag would be a good thing to have... (To other people: In PhpBB, the spoiler tag makes the text invisible until you hover your mouse over it, which means you can't accidently read it and ruin your gaming experience)
  10. If you use creatine continually, in a few months it has absolutely no effect = flushed down along with urine. I've used it earlier, but since I have absolutely no idea if it helped (my results stayed the same and I didn't notice any kind of change), I can't recommend it. It does help slightly, since it concentrates more fluids into your muscles, which doesn't last long though. In bodybuilding creatine is generally considered as a pure substance and hence, 'naturalists' can still use stuff such as creatine, glutamine, etc. The efficiency of those products is another story. Now I only use protein (mostly from meat) and only a few vitamin supplements.
  11. Your teacher wasn't quite correct at all :P Out of a 10 litre bucket, about 300-400ml would be drinkable, so that's quite a handful of teaspoons.
  12. Just in case there is proof to the contrary on the brain cell issue; My first source indicated nobody has ever died from using Marijuana. Not sure if it could damage brain cells like alcohol can and does do in excessive consumption. But yes, it would be nice to see the source as a part of the debate..
  13. incase you didnt notice, about 2/3 - 3/4 of our planet is covered in water. and we CAN filter the salt out of it to make it drinkable. Don't you think nobody would ever die of thirst if they could actually afford to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on filtering it?
  14. How do China, Cuba and North Korea still survive, with a lower crime rate than anywhere in the world? How did the Soviet Union and the French Republic survive without an official religion? (Communist nations even prohibit religion)
  15. I must radically disagree. "Countries" aren't god-given entities that exist by themselves. A country is a piece of land with imaginary borders that has been recognised by other states, and is inhabited by humans. Humans in all countries are similar by the nature of their existence. If a country is willing to kill hundreds of thousands of civilians who have nothing to do with the power-hungry desires of a government that got into power by manipulation, it's everybody else's moral duty to help those people. Don't think so? Think yourself in the same situation. This happens to children every day. They get abused beyond belief. They are kidnapped by rebel factions and trained to kill, forced labor, almost no nutrition.. Would you still say so, when you are not in the comfort of a country that hasn't seen wars for a generation? If you were actually there experiencing what those people experience every day?
  16. 8-) Sounds like fun... I'll sign up But yeah I get what you mean..
  17. I got a PM to remove that post for spam, but I'll leave it there as an example to show exactly what not to post on a debate. A lot of reasonable christians will be ashamed because of your posts on these forums, please keep this on topic.
  18. I have both versions, I just tried them out (one way or another... :shame: ) Quite honestly they aren't what I expected, but then again, it's made by EA so there's not much to expect anyways... 1. The graphics aren't really that good. 2. The game can be completely unlocked very fast. 3. Too much hype for such an average game Applies to both games.
  19. I quit at level 108, which was huge in 2002, but it's nothing today (though I do get the occassional "how are you over level 99" if I log in, barely ever though). It was just like any other game. I couldn't quit playing Diablo II until I got my paladin to level 99. Had to get a good level and equip in Everquest. Max level in WoW. Still, it's a waste of time, and I was fairly younger when I played many of those games (except WoW in which my account was shared by 3 people to level up faster). My advice is play them for fun. Playing RS up to 108 isn't "fun", it's compulsive. And I have no idea why I stuck around these forums 8-) I use at least 6-7 forums weekly and mod a few of them like this one. I guess tip.it just has a good community in general. Good quote that applies, at least to me: Games are meaningless. When they're not fun, do something that matters. They're meant to just pass your time.
  20. That's what I though. :? I'd heard somewhere that only 1% of the water left in the world could be considered "unused" before in someway. Of course i'm for it. Yeah, only about 1-3% of the world's water is fresh water that can be drunk. Most of it is in the polar areas and lakes. It may not sound like much, but it's a huge reserve. Sadly, it doesn't get distributed equally. Some people get tap water. Other people, no matter how embarrassing it in in the modern world, die of thirst. Yeah, in the year 2007, while we play games online and watch movies on a plasma screen and 7.1 stereo, people die of thirst. That's nothing new, but considering the huge contrast, I wonder if more can be done than creating wells in villages.
  21. Ah now, here is the reason why Christians and other religious people are often generalised and badly treated. Many Christians are so sure they're right - 'omg, I will go to heaven, you willl suffer everlasting torture in hell' that the athiests get sick of it and start insulting them. u cant blame us. it is frustrating to see ppl who just cant see how things are even when its this simple. it makes us think there kinda thick tbh.  You have a right to believe anything you want. You can tell others why they should believe so. You can't tell other people you are sure of something when you have no real proof. I don't try to convert you to agnostism/atheism/the chocolate lightsaber religion or whatever somebody may want to believe in, I, like everybody else, have absolutely no proof of a God's existence (or lack thereof), neither do you. A debate doesn't equal what you're pretty much doing in every post, i.e. claiming "I'm right, you all are thick, and I know I'm right and nothing can change my mind." There are more hindus, muslims and jews combined than christians, maybe they think the same as well? Their belief is 'infallible'. That creates a deadlock, and none of the religions can prove proof "why" their religion is the best. They just believe what they are taught. You don't need to accept any religions at all, but you should accept the fact that people have different beliefs, and just because you believe something, does not make it right if it has no factual reasoning.
  22. ...wow. You realize that there are about 2.1 billion christians in the world, with only about 3.8% of the worlds population calling themselves Atheists. And you talk about how horrible it is to be a Christian, and to be trodden down by these awful Atheists.... Think of how the atheists feel. They have nothing to belive in AND they have to put up with all the crap that all the other religions have to put up with. Not to mention the threats of hellfire that have appeared numerous times already on this thread. Don't you think Atheists wish that there was a God and Heaven? Who would not like this to exist? Maybe atheists are just more realistic. There are about 1.1 billion atheists, or roughly 10%. You can check the website for other "denominations". Just don't post any personal flames, general, reasoned critique is o.k. and expected. Debating theological flaws is not the same as directly attacking a person's faith and beliefs he has had for possibly all of his life. It's ignorant to argue in a belittling way no matter what a person believes (though, discussion does require all parties to read sources provided by each other given they are reliable)
  23. Yeah, in most countries, this has been done for ages, and it doesn't have any health side-effects (why would it? It's *extremely* well regulated). It also conserves water in general.
  24. I'm not saying the government is involved, but sure as hell a lot of people gained hundreds of millions of dollars from the 9/11 events. It's not as black and white as you think. American Airlines stock: $15.70 Sell off (strangely, the trading of the stock just a day before the terrorist attacks multiplied by over 1100% compared to the daily normal volume) After terrorist attack: $6 Buy back after it climbs back to $10: You made a huge profit and you still own the stocks Price of gold: +5% in a matter of minutes Price of strategic government stocks: Sunk to all-time lows in a matter of hours Also, known as "selling short" a stock in the business world. It is clear as day some people had information about the attacks, and none of the terrorists who planned it had anything to gain because they died themselves. Also, very few people in Al-Qaeda are rich (Osama is a multi-millionaire, the rest are probably of average wealth). Did the government allow it to happen? Definitely not. Did some government/high staff officials have information but decided not to leak it out and buy strategical stocks instead? There is no doubt.
  25. I edited the title for you so you don't get any flames 8-)
