  1. Lol and now it's been the exact opposite with the last 3 GH games  Congrats on GH2 and 733k on TTFAF, I'm still struggling to break 675k =\ Also got a -5 run on Scream Aim Fire today, all in Solo D, so hopefully I get that one soon enough (I'll probably choke in 'Spam!' though :()
  2. I was hoping there'd be a Weezer pack, as I find their songs to be the most fun to play with your friends in full bands. Ah well, I wouldn't be able to download it anyways... Also, got the BYOB FC :D Vid is aslo uploading, will edit when it's up. EDIT: BYOB FC vid : - http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=FnRUqXIM7v8
  3. Obtained two new FC's today (well, yesterday technically...): 'La Bamba', and 'Lazy Eye' [hide=La Bamba, FC #6] After many, MANY chokes and stupid misses, I finally managed to get the FC. I had about 6 runs where I reached the last streak of orange notes and overstrummed, so it's a good thing this song is short because I only have so much patience :|[/hide] [hide=Lazy Eye, FC #5] This is probably my favourite song in the game, and this was also my first actual attempt at making a path on my own since no one has made an approved path yet (as far as I'm concerned). I didn't go into all the calculations and whatnot to figure out a good path, I basically decided which spot was good to activate by looking at the blank chart for the song. It gave me second place overall, but I'm still 2,400 points behind Piso in first place, which means my path needs work...[/hide] I also made a video of my Lazy Eye FC, so expect that to be uploaded by tomorrow :) And I also hope to get a BYOB FC on vid as well, the FC is imminent! EDIT: Lazy Eye FC - http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=xGasaoiUqjY
  4. Finally got through the entire setlist (took long enough...)! I plan to work on some of the more challenging songs right now, and so far my best FC is The Middle I'm planning to go for BYOB next as I've got the strumming pattern down, the only thing holding me back really is 'Party Time' and if I can get past that it's all about not choking :-#
  5. Got World Tour yesterday, and I'm currently on the 11th tier. I've had 5 sightread FC's so far (About A Girl, Obstacle 1, What I've Done, Eye Of The Tiger, One Way Or Another), which is good for me because I tend to make a lot of stupid mistakes during sightreads  Once I finish up my career I'm planning to go for as much FC's as possible, starting with some of my favourites!
  6. Thanks! And yeah, I think I know which songs you mean (In Love, Go That Far, Rock and Roll All Nite) :P , I'll get them eventually! As for FCPREMIX, once you get consistent with Aggro, it's all about getting lucky with the End Lead- I don't think anyone can hit that part consistently. For The Way It Ends you can get consistent with each section, there's not too much lucky involved really. Lol it's actually fun squeezing on Hard mode as it can be significantly easier or harder than Expert, and most of the songs can still have enough notes to keep you from falling asleep
  7. I'm probably just going to get the game by itself as well, I've heard of a lot of reports about peoples guitar breaking within a few hours of gameplay, and I really don't want to put up with that. On another note... Words can not describe how happy and LUCKY I was to get this FC : , it was completely unexpected to be honest, but this marks #52 for me and I'm glad it's out of the way!
  8. Yay :D ! Finally got the 'One' Hard FC I've been longing for. It was my first run of the day and I'm surprised (and happy) that I didn't choke after FC'ing FSA. I also got the run on vid, so when it's done UL'ing I'll edit with the link. And on a side note, this is my very first 2k+ note streak and will most likely be my only one unless I get better at RB drums  EDIT: Vid: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ShButZ-cKoI
  9. Hopefully I can get WT this weekend, I've called EB Games and they said they have about two Guitar sets left for PS2, so hopefully they don't sell out by the weekend... BTW, my school's GH tourney is over and I have about 7 tickets in the draw, so hopefully I win the PS3
  10. So ironically enough, it was GH3 being played today rather than GH2 (which was allegedly going to be the only version of GH played). I was looking to redeem myself, so I was actually quite happy that I got to play GH3 since I'm familiar with all the songs and can play them adequately. It was fun because the organizers were having trouble with the projector which the game was being displayed on, and so the screen was green the whole time we were playing. It was basically like being under starpower (except green rather than blue ;) ) all the time since you couldn't see the note colours; even when star power was activated it was still green . Anyways, my first matchup was against a sophmore which I was well acquainted with. Unfortunately since the organizers also forgot to put in the memory card for the game we were forced to choose songs out of tiers 1 and 2 only--excluding the encore songs. I decided to pick Hit Me With Your Best Shot since it was the most fun out of the eight songs. My opponent had broken his combo early and in Verse 2 (the HOPO part), and I managed to keep a combo up until the end of Solo B in the strumming...After that I combo'd until the end while he missed about two times after that, and the final score resulted in a win for me by about 20k points. I was pretty disappointed because I know I can FC that song easily and it would've been cool to be the first person in the draw to get 100% on a song, but I guess I just can't do it on command...oh well... In my second and final match the organizers had put in the memory card, which allowed us to choose from all 70 songs. I chose Take This Life, and my opponent apparently had never played on Expert as he was flailing madly at the frets and strumming wildy at the trills while I managed to combo up until the first Chorus. After that I just took off, which was a cue for my friends to start messing with me by trying to grab the guitar from me and pulling my chair  . I didn't really care as the match was pretty much over, and I still managed to pull off a fair 474k while my opponent got somewhere under 150k. Overall this day was better than yesterday (obviously...), but I was hoping for the last years winner and that freshman kid who both beat me in GH2 to return so I could have my revenge! Ah well, maybe tomorrow. Also, if all goes well I might be getting GH:WT sometime this weekend
  11. So it turns out the GH tourney my school is holding is really just a lottery draw, where you pay $1 dollar to play and you receive a ballot which goes into the box to draw the winner for the PS3. Although I anticipated for it to be GH3, it's GH2, which is fine but I was really rusty so I actually ended up losing all my 3 matches -.- My first match was nerve-breaking because everyone expected me to wreck the other guy, who was last years winner by the way. He chose Hangar 18, and luckily I knew the solos relatively well (and by that I mean solos 1a-6, lol)so it wasn't that bad of a match. Unfortunately I had a LOT of stupid mistakes (e.g., overstrum in the intro, LOL), mainly missing some of the easy SP phrases. Anywho, the final score was 234k for me and 235k for him, it was really fun at the end because he was flailing in Solo 9 but I actually managed to combo half of it but I lost grip of the strumbar in the outro and ended up losing :( . It was fun, but I definitely could've done much better. My second and third match was with a freshman (just as I predicted ;) ) who was a formidable opponent. He chose Jordan (by request of the audience), and I thought that I would actually win this one since I highly doubted he would be able to tap Solo B and C. But yet again, my time away from GH2 caused me to miss in the verse about 3 times, while he maintained a combo until the second chorus. I bombed the Break, but he actually managed to get a 3x multiplier by Solo A. We both messed up the triplets, and just as I thought he wasn't able to tap Solo B (thank God...) and I did relatively well in Solo C but I idiotically activated SP near the end and skipped the SP phrase in the 'blue note of freedom'. We both FC'd Solo D and E, and I combo'd the first part of F but then flailed from there onwards while he maintained a 3x by the time we got to the Bridge. I actually could've made a comeback at this point if I had managed to hit the Bridge, but unfortunately I failed miserably, and at the end of the song the score was 207k to 222k. Once again, it was a good fun match, but I know I could've done much better...ah well, what can ya do? We both had 1 more play left, and I chose Beast and the Harlot, thinking that he would be inept at the verse riff. Long story short, we both messed up the verse riff as well as the solos, but yet again I ended up losing 334k to about 358k. So today wasn't my day, but I'll probably pop in GH2 sometime tonight and screw around with a few solos. I'll be sure to inform you of how tomorrow goes :)
  12. Saidin, do you offer lessons in tick squeezing by any chace : ? Speaking of firsts, I managed to grab two 1sts for TTL and TWIE on Hard across all systems :D ! TTL was the hardest, me and LemonMeringue were battling for first for quite awhile, and I though he had me beat when he managed to squeeze 80% minus ticks. However in the end I finally managed to get a run where I got all the double squeezes except in the third activation and the fourth (which was adjusted) and didn't drop any ticks! [hide=Take This Life (Hard), 454,578, 1st all systems!][/hide] [hide=The Way it Ends (Hard), 412,556, 1st all systems!][/hide] Also, I uploaded a video of a FC of FSA on Hard, so hopefully I can translate that to a real run soon and get it on video as well! I also made an FC video of Monsters because I'm 99% with the solo, and getting it on my first run proved that. One FSA FC (Hard) - http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=esPRpCwp8LM EDIT: Monsters vid is up - http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y0pRhbMr8c
  13. I'm sure you won't have a problem beating people at your school, considering you are ranked in the top 200 on SH. Lol I actually was thinking about that when I saw the poster aboout the tournament. I know the person who one last year will be a force to be reckoned with and probably goes on SH too, but I don't know if there's anyone else who does (maybe some freshman will step up to the plate  ). Though I'm not really good with crowds, I hate having other people watch me play video games (with the exception of fighting games ;) ), so hopefully that won't affect my performance too much.
  14. Well seeing as I'm more than a bill short from buying World Tour, I'll just have to wait until Christmas... Although my school is holding a Guitar Hero tourney next week, and the winner gets a PS3 along with the Guitar Hero 3 set, so it'd be nice if I could win that and be able to play World Tour (along with GH3) online. On a side note, I made another video, this time an FC of FCPREMIX. Getting the 'End Lead' was complete luck (as always), and it was a half-decent run but I can and probably will do better in the near future. I'm hoping to capture an FC of Take This Life for my next vid ;) Vid - http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=bmLkIYvbhjk
  15. Wow, nice  ! How long did it take to complete it?

  17. I don't mean to jack this thread, but I've killed about 4 people in full rune all in hot zones, and the best item I got out of all those kills was a Rune 2H -.- I'm risking about 100k-125k, so I don't know wtf is going on...
  18. Big updates from my ongoing Hard career! I finally managed to pull off 67/70 FC's, and as soon as I stop choking on Raining Blood it will put me up to 68 :D ! I won't have my camera back until next week, so when it's back I'm going to redux all my scores without photo proof and maybe even improve some of them while doing so ;) . I've also managed to obtain 20 firsts (about six of them are tied firsts) on PS2, two of which are shared overall (Mauvais Garcon & Cities on Flames)! I also managed to get 1st on the 3rd-7th tiers and the Quickplay Exclusives! My scores put me at 6th place for PS2 and 19th overall, the song holding me back from gaining more rankings is obviously TTFAF -.- , but I know I can probably get around 600k+ on that, and if I ever do that should place me in the top 3 for PS2 and the top 10 overall which would really be astounding. Like I said before, I'm hopefully going to finish up Raining Blood soon and after that I'll either work on a One FC (consistent with FSA on slow, full speed...not so much :( ) or getting my TTFAF score up in order to gain rankings. My ultimate goal is to get 1st overall on PS2 (119,788 points away...), if that happens I'll leave my Hard career for awhile and head back to expert and try for 60 FC's. Here's my Hard scores btw if anyone's interested: http://www.scorehero.com/scores.php?use ... e=5&diff=3 EDIT: Just got the Raining Blood FC! First on PS2 by 20 ticks  , I also managed to bump my TTFAF score to 608k, so now I'm ranked 3rd on PS2 and 13th overall...getting there ;)

    Saw 5

I didn't find Hostel that scary or disturbing to be honest, now TCM on the other hand... On-topic though, I haven't seen a single Saw movie so there's really no point in seeing this one. There's been a drought on good horror movies for the past year or so, I'm not wasting my money on movies like The Strangers or Prom Night ever again -.-
  20. Congrats goat! Don't worry too much about Mauvais Garcon, it's easy once you know which chords to hit and when. The credit card trick is starting to fail me now...my yellow fret is becoming unresponsive more frequently, making it extremely difficult for me to continue playing -.-
  21. That sounds like fun... :x Oh it is! I love hills because those are the parts where I pass the most people (usually) :P
  22. Well our team had our regionals today, and I finished about 78th out of about 250, which is pretty good on my record. Our school finished 4th as a team, which means we qualify for metros as a team. In metros we allegedly have to run up a ski hill, twice! Can't wait :D
  23. Why? Because the Strat sucks at alt-strumming? You can use any other guitar in RB you know... I know, but it'd just be even more of a pain to get the right strumming speed and nail the HOPO's since RB's timing window is very tight. Although I'm not sure if the timing window is a little more lenient in RB2...nevertheless it'd still be a lot harder compared to GH3.
  24. Lol the intro to Holiday in Cambodia in RB would be complete hell
