  1. OMG finally! After 6 long hours, I've finally finished Inuyasha! Read from chapter 494 all the way to the end (chapter 558) today, and I have to say: it was worth it. I can't wait until the anime reaches the conclusion, because there are some scenes I'm dying to see animated Now I can finally finish Fruits Basket ._.
  2. I played Tekken 3 a lot as a kid- it's hands-down my favourite fighting game. I bought TTT a few months back, and my main characters are Julia and Jun (I love beating my friends with female characters while they use characters like Heihachi, Kazuya and Paul ). I'm also good with: Michelle, Paul, Xiayou, P. Jack, Heihachi and Kazuya. I plan to buy T5 soon since T6 is out of the question for me due to my lack of next-gen console =\ Hopefully they make a TTT2 and have it available for PS2.
  3. Your first pair of notes are B and G, and there are only two triads that contain those two notes, which are: Gmaj and Emin. From that you can deduce that your song will be in the key of G major or E minor. From there you can apply the rules of chord progressions for each scale. What I did was use the moving notes to form the chord progression. Since the next pair of notes are C and G, I used the Cmaj (IV) triad as the next chord. For the next pair--D and G--I used Dmaj (V). And for the last pair--E and G--I used Emin (VI). So if you decide to use G major as your key, your chord progression would be: I-IV-V-VI (Gmaj, Cmaj, Dmaj, Emin). If you decide to use the Eminor scale, you can simply invert the quality of the chords, and go down a third according to the new quality (so if you invert Gmaj to Gmin, you go down a minor third to Emin; if you invert Emin to Emaj, you go down a major third to Cmaj). Once you do that your Eminor scale chord progression would be: I-IV-V-VI (Emin, Amin, Bmin, Cmaj). And if you want to get more specific it would be Eminor in its natural form, since the IV chord is minor. I personally like the sound of the Gmaj progression better, but it's totally up to you to decide which scale to use. Good luck with your song [/hide] Thank you So so so much!!! That helps alot, but what do the I-IV-V-VI mean? how to play the chord? Yes; the Roman Numerals indicate the degree of the given scale--which acts as the root of your traid--and tell you what triad to play. Let's use G major for example: I = Tonic Traid; G is the tonic or 1st degree of G major, therefore the tonic triad is GBD (major) II = Supertonic Triad; A is the supertonic or 2nd degree of G major, therefore the supertonic triad is ACE (minor) III = Mediant Triad; B is the mediant/3rd degree, therefore the mediant triad is BDF# (minor) IV = Subdominat Triad; C is the subdominant/4th degree, therefore the subdominant chord is CEG (major) V = Dominant Triad; D is the dominant/5th degree, therefore the dominant triad is DF#A (major) VI = Submediant Triad; E is the submediant/6th degree, therefore the submediant triad is EGB (minor) VII = Leading Note Triad; F# is the leading note/7th degree, therefore the leading note triad is F#AC (diminished) As you can see there are different qualities of triads for each degree of the scale. These qualities are absolute in the major scale. In the major scale, the I-IV-V triads will always be major; II-III-VI will always be minor; and VII will always be diminished. Try it out with other scales if you want, and you'll get the same results. For minor scales it's a bit different. For the harmonic minor scale (7th note/leading note is raised by a semitone), the V-VI traids are major; I-IV are minor; II-VII are diminished; and III is augmented. The harmonic minor scale is the only scale that contains an augmented triad, which is due to the raised 7th note. But that just makes it all the easier to remember the triad qualities of that scale For the natural minor scale, the III-VI-VII traids are major; I-IV-V are minor; and II is diminished. Hopefully I covered your question without sounding too convaluted

  5. When I write in odd meters, it happens naturally. It's not: "Let's sit down and write something in 11". I can say I'm a fan of 9/8 and 10/8 when it comes to odd meters. Obviously it doesn't appeal to everybody, but I love writing a groove over an odd meter. Something you can still nod your head to, but doesn't become so complex that it just sounds like a mad rush of notes and rhythms. It's not writing in that meter just for the sake of being odd or different. I love the feel of compound and mixed meters. Last year our Wind Ensemble played a piece called Vesuvius by Frank Ticheli, and I just loved playing the 9/8 measures (even though it took us about three rehearsals just to get the counting down as an ensemble =\). I think quintuplets and quadruplets are true BS. Most of the time they sound unfitting, and they're a [female dog] to count in time.
  6. In real life I'm quite timid and introvertive. I don't speak out in class--heck I don't talk much at all--or crack jokes and voice my opinion. I tend to keep most of my ideas to myself because I'm afraid of how others may see me if I were to share them. It's silly, I know, but that's just how I am sometimes. However, on the internet I'm more than happy to share my opinion on certain subjects- whether it be from the morality of abortions to cereal vs. waffles (CEREAL!). The anonymity gained when you post something gives me a boost of confidence, and allows me to share my ideas and discuss them civilly (most of the time) with other people without any shouting, violence, or anything that would cause the discussion to go haywire. So do you act differently on the internet? Or are you more or less the same person?
  7. Whenever I think of something that I think sounds nice (or sad, angry, etc.), I quickly play it on the piano and save it on Sibelius so I don't ever forget it But as for actual song making, I've only fully made about 3 or 4 songs, one of those being a variation on Happy Birthday I did for a friend. Right now I'm trying to compose a piece for a concert band, and it's a hell of a lot more work than just thinking of parts for piano, but also a hell of a lot more fun.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJfeCTyTqP8 It's so darn addicting!
  9. Had my first Anime Club meeting today, and I have to say it was boring as hell! All we do is watch anime for an hour, and the club supervisor won't even let us socialize with each other Me and my friends left about 10mins into the anime we were watching (I forget the name but it was animated very well, so it must have been made a year or two ago), which is thankfully only 6 episodes so we're going to draw for what anime to watch next meeting. Ah well, I'm just looking forward to Anime North! On another note I finished School Rumble 2nd and 3rd term yesterday (haven't watched the OVA's yet), and read the School Rumble Z manga. [hide=***SPOILERS*** - thoughts on the ending] I was displeased that Tenma ended up being with Karasumo and not Harima, but then again I really wanted Yakumo to end up with Harima because I LOOOOOVE Yakumo! But you can't win 'em all I guess. I was just happy to see that Mikoto ended up with Hannai (I love childhood friends that end up in relationships), although it would've been funny if Imodori got Mikoto (he'd be drueling over her D Cups 24/7 ). I think I almost cried when Yakumo gave the speech to the graduating students in the manga, I never thought she'd break down into tears like that but it was a great ending to the manga.[/hide] After I finish Hellsing today I seriously want to finish the Inuyasha manga- I've been putting it on hold for much too long, and with the last volumes of the manga finally being animated spoilers are sure to spread! But Ah!My Goddess is so darn tempting...gah!
  10. Thanks, I can't believe I forgot about that one lol. I won't most likely won't be updating this guide with a prayer range 2Hing section since I don't play anymore.
  11. [hide=Stephani Sweet] [/hide] Ah Stephani Sweet Yellow fever is kicking in again!
  12. I was forced to go to: swimming, church, piano and camp. At least those are the ones that stick out in my mind. I didn't mind swimming and piano, but I disliked going to church and camp. Church was boring because I had to listen to the minister preach for 2 hours, and I couldn't even play my GameBoy to pass the time Camp wasn't nearly as bad, but I just hated being away from home (I was a big crybaby back then). I specifically remember one camp day when the leaders yelled at my cabin group because we forgot to set up the dishes for lunch, and we had to go on garbage duty for the remainder of the day picking up every piece of garbage we found. Another time was when I was in a canoe with two of my friends, and they started rocking the boat saying they wanted to go overboard. Now being the wimp I was, I started crying my eyes out and yelling at the top of my lungs to get them to stop. I haven't been canoeing since then...
  13. Finished School Rumble yesterday, and I'm anxious to finish School Rumble 2nd Term by the end of next week. I never thought I'd be into this genre, but I'm a sucker for over-the-top, exaggerated comedy and love stories
  14. For me it was expired milk. I didn't know it was expired because I always throw away the clips with the expire date on them =\ So I got a pleasant surprise when I took a mouthful of cinnamon toast crunch.
  15. I've given this a lot of thought, and I've come to find that I have more pros for winter as opposed to summer. I simply love making hot chocolate, popping in a marshmallow, grabbing some cookies, and rolling up in my sheet in the basement to watch a movie. Snowball fights can't be forgotten either, along with snowmen, snow angles, snow cones, snow cakes! Of course there are downsides like shovelling, possible pneumonia, blizzards, etc., but for me the pros outweigh the cons for winter.
  16. [hide=Jessica Burciaga] [/hide] Jessica Burciaga she's really grown from 2 years ago when I first discovered her. If these pics aren't err..."clean" enough by the mods' standards, I'll understand if they're removed.
  17. Well I decided to try my luck at making an AMV. I think it turned out pretty good, but of course I won't know from only my biased opinion So if you guys have the time I hope you'll check it out! It'd also be nice to receive some constructive criticism on what I did wrong, and what I can do to improve (although I doubt I'll make another AMV for a WHIILEEE ). Link:
  18. What shows have the best opening theme song in your opinion? In no particular order: 1. King of the Hill (although this one is my all-time favourite) 2. Friends 3. Yu-Gi-Oh 4. Family Guy 5. Inuyasha ("Change the World") 6. The Simpsons 7. South Park
  19. Well my sleeping cycle is still really messed up because of summer break. I normally went to bed at around 4:30-5:30a.m., but now my parents hound me to go to bed come 11:00. But the trickle of rebellion in me causes me to stay up until about 1a.m.- but I have a spare in the morning every other day (non-semestered schools ftw?), so on those nights I grant myself an extra hour ;) . I TRY to wake up at around 7a.m., but I almost always smash my alarm clock off and grab an extra 45mins of shut-eye...maybe that's why I'm always late :? Though on mornings with my spare period I can wake up at 8a.m., so it's all good!
  20. [yt]7AxdR2rxCzs[/yt] [hide=lyrics]"I feel your eyes crawling over me as though I am something more than me but I dont have anything good enough to say I did not make myself this way I'll show you what he did but I won't take the credit it's not mine anyway I just held the pen that day I dont deserve this this time right now is not something for which I can take a bow And I dont deserve this it wasn't me I cant take glory for something that I can't be I dont deserve this I know what perfection is like I can not stand before its might and i'm so far from what you think that I must be just drown myself in mercy I'll show you what he did but I wont take the credit it's not mine anyway I just held the pen that day I dont deserve this this time right now is not something for which I can take a bow And I dont deserve this it wasn't me I can't take glory for somethig that I can't be I dont deserve this I dont deserve this this time right now is not something for which I can take a bow I dont deserve this and all the art that I supposedly create is simply a faded reflection of something he's already made I dont deserve this this time right now is not something for which I can take a bow I dont deserve this it wasn't me I cant take glory for something that I can't be I dont deserve this I dont deserve this"[/hide]
  21. I haven't even bothered to gather the money for GH5. If I do end up buying it though, I'm pretty sure it'll be the last GH game I buy; rhythm games in general are starting to bore me =\
  22. Don't use stat reducing spells against your opponents. The effect is limited, and it just isn't worth your invent space or money. As for using Attack spells in ranging gear, I suggest wearing a Mage Hat and Robe, and a Power Amulet. A Magic Amulet is optional, but you'd be better off using a Power Amulet as to not give away that you're a Range/Mager.
  23. Yeah I can feel your pain, the first time I killed someone in the BH worlds I got a Steel Kiteshield =\ It really doesn't matter. If you decide to do the quest at 38, 27, or 1 Attack, you're still going to end up with 4825exp. There are no real strong reaons that show it's more beneficial using it at lower levels; I just suggest you use it at 38 Attack (32,399exp specifically) because I find it to be the most daunting, as opposed to going from 27-30 Attack or 1-20 Attack. But like I said before, it really isn't too big of a deal. 44 Prayer--like 31 Prayer--is completely optional. I only don't suggest it in section 1.2 because in order to utilise both Eagle Eye and Ultimate Strength, you'll have to learn how to prayer-switch. With only 31 Prayer you just have to focus on using Ultimate Strength. Besides, like I mentioned in the guide it's the 2H that (should) get you kill, so you want to make it as powerful as possible. If you were to get 44 Prayer and not utilise Eagle Eye, the only benefit would be longer lasting prayer, but you'll have to pay the price of the gaining combat levels. Ultimately, you probably will get 44 Prayer, but I suggest you don't immediately get 44- stop at 31 and use that for a while, unless you're already comfortable with prayer switching. Range tanks fare fairly well in F2P, but you'd be better off using them in P2P, since it's hard to KO with just range in F2P. As for the build, to put it bluntly: high Range, high Defence, Prayer (44/52), Mage (only if P2P).
