They used to be able to take the person attack off you if one person stopped attacking. I dont know if they changed it or not. Nope; thankfully that isn't possible anymore. If you're attacking someone and aren't being attacked back, unless YOU decide to attack someone else, NO ONE else can attack you. The only exception is if you are someone elses target, in which even if you're fighting with someone else, your target can interrupt you at any given time. And to the OP, I'm confused as to what answer you're looking for...I don't understand what you mean by 'a good way to PK solo'. Just stay in single zones and away from multi-zones.

What Est0rrath and Gin_and_tonic said are very true. There really is no need for mage pures past level 42, even with Fire Blast by your side strength Pures can also max 16's (17 at highest) by that level, and their HP will exceed that of a Mage Pures' making it easier for them to kill you. Also, most pures won't be willing to take risks against Mage Pures and with the speed of your spells, you'll be lucky if you can get any kills at all before you run out of money. Although, with the new drop system that involves EP mage has become EXTREMELY useful at low levels, since the max of mage greatly exceeds the max of other combat styles. Although Mage by itself is rather useless, when combined with Range it can be a deadly secret weapon.

I used to be an avid researcher of Scientology- hell, I almost went to one of the Chanology protests in downtown Toronto! The beliefs and practices of Scientology are far-fecthed in my opinion, and there have been many controversies involving the Church, but with a little digging I'm sure you could find those things in almost every religion. I really just don't bother myself with it anymore, people have the liberty to choose whether to become a member or not, and despite how uneasy I feel about the Church it's ultimately their choice and I don't want to impose any of my beliefs on them to try and stop them. Luckily, no one I know is a member :D

Whew! It took me 12 hours to finish Rurouni Kenshin (from ep.32-62), but I've finally completed it! I'm definitely going to watch it again in a few years. I decided to let the fillers die, and only watched the last filler episode (95). I was planning to watch One Piece next, but some of my friends spoiled it for me when they were discussing it -_- so I think I'll tackle Inuyasha next since it caught my interest in the past when I used to watch an episode here and there on YTV. Granted, 167 episodes will take a little more than a week with school starting up soon >_

~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]
bongo_man replied to bongo_man's topic in General Guides
The extreme unlikeliness of that happening is what would make eating at 23 HP (in that hypothetical situation) safing; thought it's possible, it's just not likely to happen, and to assume that by eating at 23 HP would be safing. As for the quick release for a range 2H attack, even the average PKer will be able to eat after the arrow hits before they pull out the 2H- there's enough time to react to the hit. Assuming we're talking about high levels (80+ strength/range), it's true most do keep their HP over 20 but that's because hits with scim are 21-25, meaning the amount of HP that is considered adequate will raise. Although most still follow the double-eat rule after a hit from a 2H, and their HP will only be around 25-34 at most. While that is true, that doesn't change the fact that stacking is possible in f2p. Hence, the theoretical max that an f2p range-dbaxe'er (corrupt) can hit is 54, 18-36 ;) although it takes forever to learn how to do the prayer switch & k0 weap switch fast enough to stack  On-topic, include the range prayer -> str prayer switch in your guide (can be done with right-clicking str prayer, then using f1 to swap to inv, or quick-prayers). Haha I forgot about corrupt items, I spend the majority of my time in BH worlds so it's rare to see any corrupt item there. I guess it comes down to who's willing to take the risk and considers the possibilities of a max-stack-hit, because the fight would never progress if people used the fact of stacking as their argument for eating at 40HP. I did consider putting that in my guide, but my lack of experience with that particular skill made me decide against it. However, I'm going to experiment with one of my PKer's who does have 44 Prayer and see if I can figure out some tricks ;) If there's anything you or anyone else would like to contribute to this newly developped section I'd greatly appreciate it (and of course you'll get quoted and special thanks :D )! Of course, that's true (and the chances of hitting anything above 30, even if you do have a corr dba are still absurdly low) but it doesn't change the fact that it's still technically possible. Also, the theory behind stacking says that you should have 2 spaces between you and your opponent. The moment after the animation shows the arrow leaving your bow, swap to the finisher and attack your target. To include the prayer switch, most people right-click the strength prayer to keep the menu open, then f1 to the inventory. Alternatively, you can set the quick prayer to Ultimate Strength and rapidly click quick prayers, your finisher, then your opponent. Yeah I made a new section on stacking now. As for the prayer switching, I've just been too lazy to practice with it  . However, I will eventually get around to it when I decide to get 44 Prayer on my current PKer and will force myself to use it. -
Oh man, I just finished DBZ (I refuse to watch GT) and moved on to Rurouni Kenshin. I was hooked from the very first episode (I love anything to do with swordsmanship, so I guess that was a factor)! On episode 20 right now out of an alleged 95, but I keep seeing different numbers but I'll just keep watching until I reach a dead end lol. I should finish Rurouni Kenshin in about a month or so, I'm loving anime so much right now :D So does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should watch next? I heard Yu Yu Hakusho was a favourite, but I'm open to all suggestions.

~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]

If only I could have your luck >.< Well the 10 Defence is a pretty big setback- your max hits won't compare with your fellow pures, and your HP level will be lower in comparison as well. But since the damage is already done just stay at 10 Defence and Attack, and aim for these stats before you PK: Strength: 35 Range: 30 HP: ~29 By this point you'll be 24 Combat and hitting 6 with Range and maxing 8 with Black 2H. These stats will be adequate to PK with. -
Aww, just checked their tour dates and saw they're not coming to Ontario :(

I've always been a huge fan of Dragon Ball Z, and I was extremely excited when my friend lent me DBZ: Infinite World. I quickly became addicted because I love the combat system and the characters! I plan on buying Budokai 3 when I can find it -.- . Anyone else here play?
-
That would be Eddy Gordo/Tiger Jackson- one of my all-time favourite characters. I played Tekken 3 for the PS1 when I was a kid, and I recently bought Tekken Tag Tournament a few weeks ago, and it renewed my love for the game. My best characters is Julia, it's a lot of fun demonstrating her three 10 hit combos on my friends :D I'm also pretty good with Forest Law, Jun Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, and Heihachi Mishima; I've never been a fan of Jin Kazama to be honest, although Devil Jin is a force to be reckoned with!

~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]

I'm glad you're finding it helpful :D Thanks for pointing that out, I actually meant that you should start at level 60+! I don't see why not. I've never been lucky enough to get a corrupt item drop, but I've heard people boast about getting D Med helms and whatnot (in BH worlds). I might check it out, but the fact that you're not picking up bronze arrows may make me decide against including it in the guide. That's the exact reason why I didn't include Hogoblins. Plenty of fights people eat above my max hit, but if i stack a hit while they are trying to, or in there prayer menu or something, you don't have time to eat before the 2h comes flying at there face. The people you face must have a slow reaction to the hits or are in another menu, because it's easily possible to eat after getting hit with an arrow before being hit with the 2H. The [lobster] they use to heal would negate your stacked hit by 12, making a possible 36 stacked hit (if they hadn't eaten) into a 24, and after the 2H hit they'll have plenty of time to eat twice. -
I watched The Ugly Truth almost 2 weeks ago. It was actually much better than I expected- thought it was just going to be another chick-flick.

I'm not exactly sure when school starts for me  but we always get a letter reminding us when registration is and what to bring, so I'll just wait on that. I'll be a senior this year, so pretty much all my leisure time will be halved, and then halved again so that I can focus on school. Ughh, I hate growing up :(

This! I can honestly spend a good 20mins just thinking about people (friends usually) and life in general.

~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]
bongo_man replied to bongo_man's topic in General Guides
I'm glad you found it helpful :D Yes, I understand that in clans those rules are rendered void because of the nature of clan battles, but this guide focuses on solo PKing (although it's not said directly, the lack of mentioning teams, clans, etc. hopefully implies that it is :-# ). Clans usually form their own rules during wars. That's more of a demand rather than a term, I'm looking to add things which new PKers may not understand perfectly; thanks though! I would NOT suggest you to get 40 Defence. You're still pretty 'young' as a PKer (well, more of a teen really), and you have the time to build up your stats even higher and dominate other PKers. You'll find that if you go along with getting 40 Defence and gain those extra combat levels, that you'll find behind the other pures who didn't get 40 Defence and continued raising their Strength/Range. You'll find that battles become much harder, because if you even want a chance at getting a kill you'll have to no-armour all your fights, and against pures (who can have 99 strength/range by that time) you'll find your chances of victory slim to none. It may force you to train in recluse until you reach a combat level where most of the pures decide to get 40 Defence (mid-high 80's), and believe me, you DON'T want to do that. So I would suggest you to wait a little until deciding to get 40 Defence- it's 'safe' to do so when you're in the high 80's/low 90's for Strength/Range. I personally don't enjoy using Prayer as I find it to be a nuisance because of the huge amount of reliance put towards it, but regardless of my bias it really is a good option to consider. I would actually recommend you to get 31 Prayer only; Range really isn't as important in comparison to Strength. Sure it's annoying getting hit by rapid 14's, but at the end of the day it's the 2H that's going to win it for you. The ranged levels you fall behind on by getting 31 Prayer should be of no concern to you, because while you're hittings 25's and 13's, your opponent (assume they don't have 31 Prayer and decided to continue levelling Strength and Range) may only be hitting 23's and 14's. So in a nutshell- get 31 Prayer. ~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]

Well for that account you should definitely get your strength up to at least 45, because right now your combat is ranged based so you can gain a heck of a lot of strength levels before gaining a combat level. That's a good rule if you change the '=' sign into a '>/=' (greater than or equal to). -
I love Dragonball and DBZ. Just started watching Dragonball again and I love the ridiculous sense of humor in it, and how Goku is so blissfully ignorant to everything around him. DBZ up to the end of the Frieza Saga is amazing. Me too! Haha oh man, Vegeta made me laugh so many times in the Ginyu Saga, I can't help but love his arrogance and insolence even when he does some unforgivable acts. And speaking of Goku, it reminds me of how they drag on scenes much longer than they need to be, at least I'm prepared this time for the length of the final fight between Frieza and Goku  I enjoyed the Cell Saga quite a bit, and I don't remember much about the Buu Saga (probably up to the start of Super Buu) but that's the one I liked the least. Eh, only 100 something more episodes to go until I reach there :|

Definitely DBZ for me. I didn't watch anime past my childhood (Pokemon, Digimon, DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.), so I never really had the time to get into other shows like Bleach, Naruto, Inyuasha and One Piece- which are all amazing according to my friends who still watch anime/read mangas to this day. I just recently re-watched Digimon Season 1-3 (I refuse to watch Season 4 and 5 =\) on YT, and now I'm working on DBZ- Episode 96, just after Goku turns SSJ. Hopefully I can find Yu-Gi-Oh on there too :)

I think the Titans will grab a Super Bowl victory

I'm 6'1 135 pounds. I told myself in April that this was the summer where'd I'd get off my lazy [donkey] and attempt to put on muscle weight. I was 135 back in April too =\ it doesn't help that I start early training for XC this week...

~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]
bongo_man replied to bongo_man's topic in General Guides
There's no point of getting just 25 Prayer anymore since the 'Protect Item Prayer' is obsolete in PvP worlds. And yes, definitely wait until you at least have 40 attack and around 65 strength before getting 31 Prayer, so that the 15% boost from 'Ultimate Strength' increases your strength by a larger amount. -
I really hope they come to Canada, and I can't wait for the new album release :D
-
Your stats and setup are fine; you are definitely ready to PK. I bring 100 arrows with me when PKing, but 75 will suffice. Your EP (earning potential) can be increased by bringing a minimum of 25k (for F2P players) into the wild. Your EP will slowly increase over time as long as you have that minimum. In hot zones your EP will raise every half hour, in non-hot zones it takes longer to raise- as far as I'm concerned no one has tested to see how long it takes. Basically, the higher your EP the better your drop, but there are also other factors which play into what kind of drop you get. I suggest you read the PvP article at the RS homepage for more detailed information.
