^ I nominate NFMH as the worst song in GH history. Well I've been stuck at 51 FC's (just got La Grange...finally) on Expert, and I decided to take a shot at hard. So far I've managed to obtain seven firsts for PS2, and I know I can get first overall on TTL, NotB and 3's and 7's... [hide=3's and 7's, Hard, 1st place PS2] I actually first place overall the run before this, but I choked in the last solo. In this run I had 16 ticks less...[/hide] [hide=Number of the Beast, Hard, 1st place PS21] 13 points away from 1st place overall -.- but I also missed a simple 200 which I've gotten in other runs before, so I'll get it soon.[/hide] [hide=Take This Life, Hard, 1st place PS2] This song is a HELL of a lot easier on Hard than Expert. The only thing you have to worry about is the trills, so if you're having trouble with this song I highly suggest you try and FC it on Hard first to get a feel of the song. Anyways, I could've had first in this run, but I dropped over 150 points in ticks, putting me 30 points behind LemonMeringue who is in first.[/hide] I'm planning to finish reduxing my Hard career and go for 60+ FC's. I've already gotten most of the hard ones out of the way, so it's just a matter of time before I get some more :D

Quite good, but you might want to think about getting 60/70+ Defence and 52 Prayer if you plan to stay a void pure. A DDS spec can easily rip through 42 Defence.
-
Well frankly none of us are obliged to reply to you, so I'm sorry if you're not getting 1000 replies a minute but you'll just have to suck it up and be patient... On-topic now, you have good goals, but you might want to make some shorter term goals as well. This is a good way to keep you motivated so that you aren't thinking "Oh man, lvl 50 Strength, I still have 30 levels to go!", all the time.
-
If you start out as a pure ranger then you'll inevitably end up getting defence. So for now you should focus on being a pure ranger, and later worry about defence.
-
Well what make you think that 99 Range and 80 Defence would be uneffective? Anyways, if it's defensive ranging you're focusing on, then you'll need to raise your Magic as well. You could also raise your Defence and HP to 99 while still being under 112 Combat, however one 99 goal is good realistic enough for now. With that said you'll want to get at least 82 Magic for Ice Blitz, and you should think about raising your Defence to 85 and your Range to 90. At that point you could actually start PKing since you have a strong Defence and Range level. That's all there is to it really, just make sure that if you plan to raise some attack and/or strength levels that you check a combat calc to make sure you won't go over 112 combat.
-
Lol well I'm biased towards Range PKers, so I'm obliged to tell you that PKing with Range is better than Melee. However it's really up to you, but I would suggest getting Range anyways incase you want to experiment with it.

Guitar Hero IV:World Tour - 100% REAL track list is up!

Here's a video of Satch Boogie on guitar http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=X1pQF8dDwWI Does anyone else dislike the way the notes look? They remind of me the GH:On Tour notes for the DS, which I find really unappealing :| -
Turning this account into an efficient PKer will take a LOT of work. It WILL take awhile for you to obtain the stats necessary to PK effeciently in the high-crater. You should aim for these short-term goals: Attack 90 Strength 90 80 Defence x HP 85 Range (if you plan to PK with Range) 99 Magic 70 Prayer Combat Level - 116 At this point, it doesn't really matter if you gain any more Summoning levels since you're close to your max stats, though it might be a good idea to lay off Summoning for now and focus on your combat stats. I don't know if you plan on using Range to PK, but if you do then you should be raising it along with your Strength and Defence. I always find Range to be a useful asset, so I highly recommend you to raise it. Ultimately you'll want these stats: 90+ Attack (levels raised by PKing with whip) 95+ Strength 85+ Defence x HP 90+ Range 99 Magic 70 Prayer Combat Level - 119-129(at max stats) Obviously you'll end up with 99 in each stat overtime, but at those current stats you'll be able to PK adequately. As for where to train, it's entirely up to what you prefer doing. If you don't want to waste food then head for PC, but keep in mind you only obtain half the experience there when fighting the pests. If you don't mind spending a little money on training food then you should fight monsters like Fire Giants or whatever your Slayer task is. For your Range I suggest Fire Giants and even Blue or Metal Dragons if you want to obtain good drops (keep in mind experience is pretty slow). You might want to experiment and see where you like training the most, and you should switch training spots often so you don't get bored and lose your motivation. Good luck :D
-
Umm, personally I'd suggest stats along these lines: 72 Attack 99 Strength 60 Defence 99 HP 99 Magic 99 Range 44 Prayer Combat Level - 100 (max) With your set goals 49 Attack would rarely get damage you're opponent, since they'd most likely be 60+ Defence. This is especially significant in armour battles, because even with 99 Defence 70+ Attack can cut through it in a matter of seconds. You'd also be lacking the Ultimate Strength prayer, which is a BIG boost in no-armour battles. Your opponent would be hitting 25's with their scim whereas you'd only be hitting 23(?), plus their prayer would last longer allowing them to do more damage. If you want to keep a balance between your Attack and Defence then get 67/67.

Did a little bit of reduxing this weekend, and I managed to pull out some pretty good scores. [hide=School's Out Optimal!] Optimal for PS2 anyways, but I'm finally glad I got that last squeeze which surprisingly wasn't that hard.[/hide] [hide=Avalancha re-FC, 430,584] I decided to redux this one because I haven't played it for awhile. It's a good score but I'm definitely going back for more.[/hide] [hide=Radio Song re-FC, 198,755] The squeezes in this song are pretty hard, so I think this is probably my limit on this song (though I'm missing 28 ticks :x).[/hide] And here's my Miss Murder score... I also got 287,866 on a Raining Blood run. I didn't take a picture because I had a stupid miss in the bridge, which means I could probably get a good 290k+. EDIT: My first video finished uploading! I decided to play My Name is Jonas as a test (actually ended up beating my old score by 8 ponts ;) ), and it looks like it worked well. Link: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=6C53BIHQXAw I also made a video of a Prayer of the Refugee FC, so here it is as well! Link: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=BAizL6Ezzx8

I just found out there is \ those open notes sound like they're going to be a lot of fun! http://wiki.scorehero.com/NSCommunityArticleIntro -
No, they're saying you should raise your defence to 40+ in order to become a tank.

Guitar Hero IV:World Tour - 100% REAL track list is up!

Yes. I believe each instrument has its own career. And it's about time, I've been waiting to play a solo Bass career for awhile now :) -
Woah, I haven't touched a plastic guitar in almost a week, and what a week it's been... I'll post some updates scores later with my new digital camera :D it can also record for about 10mins, so I might make a video or two just for fun ;)

Well, my meet didn't go as well as I expected. My run was a 6k race at 2:45 p.m., and I hadn't had anything to drink or eat since breakfast (orange juice, yogurt, pudding cake), so by the time my race came I was seriously dehydrated, and it didn't help that the sun was beating down on us at about 20 degrees celsius. Anyways, when I was sprinting the last 100m I came to an immediate stop about 20m from the finish line, where at that point the 5 or so people I had beaten got ahead of me, as well as another 10 or so people, which didn't so any good for my ranking. This had NEVER happened to me before, but for some reason my legs felt like they were on fire, my vision was extremely blurry and my head was throbbing with pain. I was barely able to keep my balance, and I had to wait about 2min before I got to move into the tent where the helpers took down my number and write down my rank. By the time I got out of the tent I was barely able to walk, and I found the nearest bench to sit on but I was told I was unable to sit there which forced me to make the long, painful walk back to our teams area. I collapsed halfway there, and by that time I was having serious troubles with breathing. My vision became completely obscured, and I could really only hear the voices around me. It didn't take long for one of the helpers to rush to my aid, as well as one of my teammates who knew first-aid. My arms and legs were tingling, I was having severe cramps in my foot and hamstring, and I couldn't really move any other part of my body except for my mouth and head. I began hyperventalating, and it took a few mins for me to calm down my breathing and bring my heart rate back to a normal pace. The paramedics eventually showed up and I was taken to the hospital, which by the time all the pain had ceased and I could move my entire upper body, and there was only a small amount of pain in my legs. It only took about 3 hours for the nurse and doctor to come check on me and make sure everything was ok, which is a good time considering my situation wasn't as severe as others in the hospital (thankfully I wasn't at a downtown hospital, which would've most likely taken a good 8+ hours for a doctor to see me). I'm fine now, and this is definitely something I'll never forget. It's also something that's just going to push me to do better in my next meet which is this upcoming Wednesday. I won't let the heat (as well as my own stupidity) beat me this time ;)
-
Lol I'd say PKing is about 70% luck, 10% skill, 15% stats, and the other 5% is pretty much your overall knowledge of PKing. You shouldn't really get down on yourself when you can't seem to get a kill, every PKer has their day, and it just takes that one kill to get you started on that rampage.
-
Not really. Defence is pretty much manditory in the mid-crater; without it you'll get ripped apart by those who do have defence. 1 Defence pures, sadly, just don't work in the mid-crater, so you should definitely raise your Defence to 40 and get 43 Prayer. You may also want to think about getting 60 Attack for better accuracy, as it will be quite the challenge to defeat your opponents with only 40 Attack. Think about getting your Range up as well, the extra HP gained from it can only help you and you may want to think about including Range in your arsenal sometimes.
-
Well if you plan on Range/2H'ing then you definitely need 70 Range. From there you can just PK in the low crater until you reach 56 combat, and after that you'll probably want to think about getting defence or train your strength and range until the new PVP update arrives. The extra 5 attack levels will only make you reach 56 combat sooner than you would have if you were 40 attack, so it's not that big a deal really.

Hi. I suggested that the OP get 31 Prayer because he's already at 13 Prayer. 13 Prayer doesn't even last more than a minute, so the strength boost it gives is only for a limited amount of time. So it's quite useless for them to stay at 13 Prayer, whereas if they were to get 31 Prayer it would last longer and allow them to hit higher for a longer period of time. You're right about the max strength level obtainable by a non-prayer strength pure is 78, and with around 69 HP it would put them at the maximum of 55 combat. A pure with 31 prayer would be in the same situation, just take off about 8 HP levels and 5 Strength levels. In my experience prayer works well with strength pures simply because of the benefits that come from it, such as the protection prayer and Ultimate Strength. Prayer boosts your strength by 15% for a set amount of time, whereas strength potions only boost your strength level 12.5% and it decreases by 1 over time until you reach your original strength level, meaning the prayer pure will be able to hit their max for a longer time than the strength pure. This is especially significant in the situation described above- the pure with 78 Strength relies on that 12.5% boost provided by the strength potion in order to hit their max (19 with scim, 23 with 2h), meaning that once it decreases by one level they will only be able to hit 1 below their max (18 with scim, 22's with 2h). Even though the prayer pure will have to deal with the decreasing levels of the strength pot as well, they still have that 15% boost for a set time, meaning they will be able to hit higher than the non-prayer pure for a longer amount of time. So a prayer pure with a dose of strength pot and Ultimate Strength activated would be able to hit their max (20 with scim, 24 with 2h) until their strength decreased by one level, making them hit 1 level below their scim max (19 with scim, 24 still with 2h). If the two were fighting each other, the prayer pure would be hitting the non-prayer pures max for a much longer time, while the non-prayer pure would be hitting 2 less than the prayer pures max after a strength level has faded. I don't see where the OP said money wasn't a factor, but if we assume it isn't then he should still get prayer by all means.
-
I'd suggest getting the 31 Prayer. If you were to get it now you'd be at the maximum of 51 combat, leaving you with room to grow 4 more combat levels. It'd take about 8 or so strength levels until you'd become 56 Combat, along with the 6 or 7 HP levels gained with it.
-
70+ Attack (levels gained from using whip) 80+ Strength 50/70 Defence (70 if you want to use Piety) 70/82 Magic (whatever is affordable) 52/70 Prayer 70+ Range ~77 HP (determined by the minimum stats) Combat Level - 87/94 Not an uncommon setup, and being a melee pure is probably the best option for you. I'd highly suggest getting the 70 Defence not only for Piety, but for a better defensive game as well.
-
I disagree; an extra damage advantage doesn't trump a higher HP in my opinion. Having more HP is much more significant than having that extra hit, say for example Pure A is fighting Pure B. Pure A has spent most of their time in PC in order to gain as little HP as possible, whereas Pure B has trained normally thus gaining HP exp at a regular rate. Even though Pure A will have higher strength and will be able to get higher hits slightly more consistently than Pure B, it's not so great a difference enough to make Pure B inferior. Pure B will still be able to get high hits fairly consistently and still has a greater HP than Pure A, meaning it will take a bit longer for Pure A to bring him down.
-
Well even with your current stats, it'd be quite a challenge for you to turn into an effective PKer. 52 Summoning wouldn't make too much of a difference, but it'd make it that much harder. You have to decide whether or not you'd like to PK in the mid-level crater, because if the answer is yes then 52 Summoning isn't an option for you, otherwise you'd have to get your stats in the high 90's (95+) in order to PK effectively in the high crater.

I only managed to obtain a few new scores since my last post...but one of them got me my very first 1st place on PS2! [hide=Welcome to the Jungle, 361,130, 1st place PS2!] I missed an easy 200 in the 4th activation because I activated too early, but I still managed to get this score which put me in 1st place for PS2 and 9th across all plats :D I'll go back for that missing 200 in future runs and hopefully grab some ticks while I'm at it.[/hide] [hide=Cities on Flames, 256,894, optimal!] Finally! Optimal! This is tied for 1st with about 25 other people across all plats.[/hide] [hide=Holiday in Cambodia, 493,002, -2] I decided that just because I can't FC the intro doesn't mean I shouldn't play this song. So I was really surprised when I ended up with this score and a -2 run in the intro (along with about 3 overstrums). The only part that really gives me trouble now is the second-half of the intro with the red and yellow HOPO's and that stupid single orange strum. I'll get it one day....[/hide] [hide=Same Old Song and Dance, 216,947] I still don't know how this wasn't 217k+, but ah well, I gained 6k+ points by reduxing this and I will probably do it again.[/hide] [hide=3's and 7's, 406,904] Not as good as I hoped, but nevertheless still a good score. I'll attempt to get 407k later when I can get the second activation down.[/hide] I might as well post my score for Minus Celsius now before I forget. I can't seem to get past 281,2xx, so this is probably my limit on this song for now until I figure out where I'm missing those other points. Also on a side note, I played TTFAF for the first time in about a week and got 513k, 90k off from my high score. Goes to show you can't stay away from that song too long :x
-
I don't see how people find Ruby as one of the easier FC's. It took me a LONG time to get it because of those stupid chords, I still have some troubles with it to this day :wall: and lol at still not being able to get on GH.com. 1. SaidinWoT - 306,458 2. Bongo_Man - 305,858 3. DaDieselDude05 - 289,602 Next Song: ??? I haven't really been playing GH much, but since I had some free time today I decided to do some reduxing... [hide=Cities on Flames, 256,694][/hide] I accidentally activated the last activation note under no SP, costing me the optimal score. I'll definitely do it again, but several slips in Solo 1 have discouraged me at the moment. [hide=Even Flow, 362,760][/hide] I've never felt so inept at a song in terms of star power, I'm just plain terrible at this song :( [hide=Generation Rock, 280,462][/hide] A decent score, but I'm pretty sure I can get about 400 more out of it. [hide=The Metal, 288,066][/hide] This is probably my limit on this song, the squeezes are waaaay to hard to execute. [hide=Mississippi Queen, 129,749][/hide] I can't tick squeeze :( ah well... [hide=Monsters, 454,198][/hide] I've been meaning to redux this one for awhile, but the solo was holding me back. When I finally figured out how to do it consistently again I was able to pull this off! [hide=Welcome to the Jungle, 360,642][/hide] For some reason this song is EXTREMELY difficult to re-FC. It took me more tries than it should have, but I was able to get a decent score once I did. I might go for 361k+ in a bit.
