It doesn't really matter if it's the new PvP, the old PvP or the current one, if you choose to only range your opponents you shouldn't expect too many KO's to come your way. The thing is that with a 2h you have a much better chance of killing your opponent due to the high hits it delivers. Well I've watched one of his videos, and yes they are good, but just because he gets PK's without the use of a 2H doesn't necessarily mean that you will too. I could link you to any of the thousands of Range/2H videos out there and show you how effective the style is, but that wouldn't do anything for you. It's ultimately your decision, but I'm just saying that Range/2H reaps more benefits than range alone, and this is coming from someone who has experimented with both.

Only one FC Today, but it's one I should've had a looong time ago. [hide=Stricken FC][/hide] After COUNTLESS chokes in the outro, I finally managed to pull it off with a decent score as well :D Also got this one awhile back, but I'll have to redo this because I messed up my last activation and missed a good 3k points or so... No Arm = Fighting without any armour on. Items such as Monk Robes and Amulets are allowed. PJ = Pile Jumping, meaning if someone is fighting another person 1 on 1 and you interfere, you are PJ'ing. Safer = Someone who eats more than a necessary amount of food in order to keep their HP at an amount where it's practically impossible to KO them. Max = A players max hit. It's moreso asked rather than stated, for example people may ask others what their max is, and if someone is fighting they may say "max" if they've landed their max hit on their opponent. There's a lot more, but I can't really think of any major ones right now.

Set 1 is probably the best out of the two. With option 2 range/2h'ing is an uneffective method as well as melee'ing, so you're best bet would be to just range which, by itself, makes it more difficult to get a K0. Set 1 gives you the benefits of 99 strength, mage, and range (as well as some extra prayer levels to increase your longivity), which makes range/2h'ing and melee'ing both excellent choices. Your defence and attack are already decent, so you won't get as often as you would with say 40 defence.

Wow, 0.01 seconds? That's insane! I also can't wait to see how Bolt performs in his next race - 9.92 seconds and he was "barely even trying". Go Jamaica \

80 Attack 80 Strength 76 Defence 78 Range 70 Prayer 84 Mage 82 HP 54 Summoning 106/99 Combat I'm 2m short of Guthan's, but I have Magic Dart and pretty much everything else people bring to DK's. So is solo'ing DK's doable right now? Or should I think about raising some stats? Links to guides would also be appreciated, thanks!

Nice :D when I first passed it I only had like 303k lol Slow Riiiide Missed an easy 600 but w/e, first time I've played this in awhile...

Man, I don't know how you can get 600k on TTFAF, it's frustrating enough trying to 5-star the song! Nice work on the Impulse FC by the way, Funkiest Riff in History - Pyschotic Breakdown always gets me :(

Eh, it was ok, I was expecting more from it.

Prayer is easy to level, if you're using a Gilded Altar it's 252 exp for every Dragon Bone, so you can easily obtain 50k+ exp per hour. The amount of money needed doesn't determine the difficulty of levelling a certain skill.

I hate choking on Avalancha, it's so long and the hardest part just had to be at the end :x Meh, here's my score for DHB -10, stupid phazers -.-

Well you have a good build right now, and I'm going to assume that you're 1 summoning so that it won't interfere with your CB level. I have three potential setups for you, so here's Set-up #1: 87 Attack 87 Strength 99 Defence 99 HP 99 Magic 99 Range 52 Prayer 112 Combat Although if you decide that you really want to be a tanker, I suggest you go with these stats in Set-up #2: 78 Attack 78 Strength 99 Defence 99 HP 99 Magic 99 Range 99 Prayer 112 Combat This last set can be taken into consideration if you want a good balance between attack, strength and prayer, which is Set-up #3: 84 Attack 84 Strength 99 Defence 99 HP 99 Magic 99 Range 70 Prayer 112 Combat In the first setup, you have all your stats maxed excluding attack, strength and prayer. That setup is good if you decide you want to try Range + DDS, or Barrage + DDS, it'll work because your attack and strength are at levels where it will make a DDS attack effective--although you won't have the benefits of Piety. The second setup is purely for tankers: 99 defence, range, mage, HPand prayer - you're pretty much impenetrable to any forces that come your way. However there's no going back with this setup, a DDS attack won't even be as effective as per say a Magic Shortbow spec., so if you choose to go with this setup you should be positive that you want to stick with range and mage.' The last setup is, in my opinion, the best choice to go with. The goals are reasonable, and all your stats will be effective. You'll have the benefits of Piety, meaning a DDS attack will be much more powerful than a DDS attack in setup 1 (even with pots), and you still have your defence maxed meaning it'll be extremely difficult for others to hit you. This setup is just so versatile, it allows you to switch between range, mage and melee without the worry of being too weak in a stat. If I had to choose I'd say go for Set-up #3, the reasons are already above so there's no need for me to repeat myself here. Good luck with your pure, whatever you decide to do it'll turn out great.

F2P Lower Crater BHer. suggestion and comments are welcomed

The amount of HP experienced gained is 1/3 of the total experience gained when in combat. For example, say you hit a 21 against a monster, that would give you 84 strength/attack/defence experience, so 1/3 of that would give you 27.7 HP experience, which would round up to 28. So by using the total XP from your attack, strength, defence (range and mage are unreliable due to use of equipment/spells which don't raise HP), we can figure out your approximate HP level. By 67 strength I estimated that you'd be approximately 60 HP, so if we assume that you have the exact experience for 67 strength, which is 547,953 exp., we can calculate your HP level. So... 547,953 * 0.33 = 180,824.49, which rounded or not would still make you 55 HP, so we were both off here. So with the adjusted HP level, with 67 strength, 31 prayer and 55 HP you'd be 52 combat. Also, adjusting the HP level for when you're 70 strength, you'd be at 59 HP, which would make you in the middle of 54 combat. Actually, there are some pretty good drops you can get in the low-crater. Depending on your skills as a PKer, you can bring in a large amount of cash by the end of your campaign. It's quite simple really if you follow these steps... 1. Buy Supplies 2. PK 3. ??? 4. Profit  -
Definitely the first set of stats. I'd rather be able to hit aganst my opponent consistently, rather than inconsistently but with good defence. It's ultimately your choice though.
-
Um, well I'd never suggest 99 prayer if you plan to PK in the F2P mid-crater. Personally I'd take 85 attack, 40 defence, and 44 prayer over 49 attack, 99/45 prayer and 63/90 defence. The fights don't even last that long in F2P anyways, and besides the enormous amount of money it would cost to get 99 prayer, it's not worth the extra attack/defence levels lost by doing so. Keep in mind that if you plan to use melee--which you should, since it's the most effective style in the mid-crater--99 prayer is something you shouldn't even be considering. So with that said I actually suggest these stats for you to obtain: 87/70/60 Attack 99 Strength 40/63/76 Defence 99 HP 99 Mage 44 Prayer (Mystic Might isn't really worth the extra prayer level) 99 Range 100 Combat (maxed) Seeing as you might want to have some defence on your pure, I gave you three different attack + defence sets which you might like. The first set: 87 Attack + 40 Defence - this is the standard maxed out rune pure set. You'll be able to hit more often but you will also get hit more often. The second set: 70 Attack + 63 Defence - this set is the most balanced out of the two, as you have an effective attack and defence level. You won't hit as much as you would with set 1, but 63 defence provides you with more protection, meaning that you can have an advantage in most of your fights. The last set: 60 Attack + 76 Defence - this set focuses moreso on defence rather than attack. 60 attack is still quite decent, but you'll find that you won't be getting high hits regularly. Although your defence will provide you with the necessary protection which will allow you to get hit less, pures with high attacks can still rip 25's and 31's on you.

I'm assuming your prayer level is about 70, since you said your combat level is 99 in F2P. To be honest, you won't be the most effecient PKer in the crater, and you shouldn't expect too many kills to come your way. However since you mentioned you're just doing it for fun that's a completely different story, but keep in mind that PKing costs money, and you'll have to obtain it from somewhere - but if your moneymaking methods are good and you don't mind doing them, then go all out by those means. Ok I'll start with F2P since it's the easiest. Definitely go with a rune setup, but omit the kiteshield/berserker shield, this is because most of your fights will be no-armour, so you'll want to pack some monk robes to wear in order to increase the longivity of your prayer. Definitely bring your 2H, you'll want to use it on your opponent when you've decreased their health to a point where a high hit with a 2H will knock them out. As for P2P, definitely get your range up to 90 in order to use the Void/D-Bow combo. I'd also suggest getting your magic to 82 so that you can use Ice Blitz as well. Just be cautious of rushers, especially those with GS. One thing you always have to be aware of is your HP level, because once you reach about 86 HP you'll be 101 combat, meaning you won't be able to PK in the mid-crater in F2P. Other than that, good luck!

UPDATED: Is this old PKer account good enough to bh?
bongo_man replied to raaarga's topic in Help and Advice
Do not get 31 prayer in the low-crater as a range/2her, the above post would actually make you 56 combat, not 51. So just remove 31 prayer from that, and the same stats will get you 52 combat, which are good to PK with. Oh, for real? Sweet. Cool, I've got my stat goals then. What about when I want to get into mid crater, do I go for 43 prayer and 40 defense? Or should I leave prayer at 31? I heard PJers are bad in mid/high crater. If you plan to stay a range/2her in the mid-crater, then you should get 44 prayer for Hawk Eye. Hitting 18's rapid and 32's with 2h (if you can learn to switch prayers quickly) is a deadly combination, especially since you'll be no-armouring most of your fights. Yes, PJers are bad in the mid-crater, VERY bad, so you'll want protect from melee, especially if you win a no armoured fight and have little to no food left. -

Well when you get a puzzle challenge, it constantly freezes so that you have to close it and bring it up again to get the pieces moving, but when you do the pieces rearrange themselves back to their original position. So right now it's pretty much impossible to complete the puzzle. o i have found how 2 do them ;) they arent bad No they dont, thats only if you log out. I was able to solve a puzzle with the freezing glitch. And, for those who say 3rd age is impossible, a friend of mine once thought that too... Well I attempted to complete the puzzle right when I got it, and it kept freezing. I've tried for a good three days now, and it still happens #-o Nice reward by the way

Well I haven't even been able to obtain my current level 3 clue scroll reward because the bug in the puzzles hasn't been fixed yet :x
