  1. It wouldn't work only because people afraid of change (look up, lol) wouldn't let it work. It's a rather good idea but not exactly as they performed it in the other game... I think that they should do D&Ds that are area-specific, like for a good example, a fight between the Phoenix and Black Arm games in Varrock where you can participate by talking to your chosen gang's leader and donning their uniform. Another one would perhaps be continued undead invasions posed by Zemeourgal. If monsters just randomly attacked people... Well... I dunno. I really wouldn't want to be attacked while say running bars and Smithing at Varrock. But them not doing so would pretty much defeat the purpose... I guess it could be limited to certain worlds, or be toggled knowlingly at the Doomsayer or somewhere. Or if the events were initiated because of specific quests, a quest specific NPC, like Diminthesis for further undead invasions. The zombies and skeletons would ignore or push back those uninvolved...
  2. I think you should remove everything but your final sentence/question from your original post...
  3. If you know me from other forums you should also know that I am usually extremely optimistic, but what I am about to say will likely contradict that a bit... I realized about a year ago, Senior year HS, that basically you go to Elem, Middle, HS, college, get a job... Then what? You work until you DIE... The vast majority of people will never be truly happy because they will always have responsibilities. I also realized that the government will forever tax my future property, land, ETC... The most important possession one can obtain is their home, and yet in the United States, one can never truly own theirs... This discussion has inherent religious tones. Personally, I believe in God. There is no question in my mind that he AT LEAST set up the rules of reality and the universe. Heaven, however, is another story. For a fully sentient and mentally functioning human, oblivion is the worst fate of all - that one would be simply erased, their entire mind vanishing. (See how I elegantly condoned abortion? Yay...) I live because I do not want to disappear, the holy net of heaven's clouds being too thinly constructed of ancient fairytales to dare set foot upon...
  4. How would anyone realistically know this if jagex hasn't explicitly said anything about it(and they don't give us any important information on the ge)? Likely, as it seems to be true for partyhats, there doesn't at all need to be sales trough the ge for an item to update- offers active in the ge are enough, though how many and how long they need to be in there, nobody knows, and the numbers for it to update are likely very different for these items. Anyone else have difficulties trying to decipher what this person said? No, perfectly clear to me. He's mocking your ignorance for asking about a complicated issue. He's calling you an idiot for asking for help? He perceived... Thought* that you were annoyed since you reiterated... asked your question again*, which is apparently... seems like* enough to get him annoyed. Of course, since your're asking the question in the first place you probably don't know much about how the system works and you DON'T KNOW that JaGEx hasn't clarified it, but whatever, I've come to expect responses like his... Simple English: Even though no one is trading them, crackers could change prices because of unfilled offers for them in the Grand Exchange, but there is no sure proof of this.
  5. I was kinda appalled at how little effort they put into some of those, NAMELY taking the logos straight off the god cups and pasting them on plain white T-shirts. The ONLY thing I even wanted, like even for free, would have been the blue Kril Tsutsaroth hoodie, and more because I collect blue hoodies than really liking the design on it... They should focus on making their apparel recognizable to regular players, and make their designs more intricate. Also, if they're going to have an accessory section, they should have accessory products... Also, items are far too expensive. If the prices included shipping I might be able to understand... What I'd actually enthusiastically buy: Primal OR Dragon Platebody/Chainbody shirt or hoodie, but ONLY if they were heavily textured. I want to see chain links! They could also release Skillcape hoodies, where the pull strings were the color of the tassels on the cape... Oh also, how about items themed after in game items? Essence pouch coin purse, or something? Even though sarcastic [puncture]s would probably call RWT.
  6. Why... Did they have to make it like Dragon Longswords... F. I really like the black on red color scheme, like they gave the DPA... In other news, as if it matters, it appears they may give all defenders a graphical "upgrade" to longsword appearance... At least the mask looks cool, and we have the stats of the Drefender to look forward to...
  7. Ideally it would do something neat, like give you invulnerability, but not allow you to move, and wear off after a certain amount of time. THEN it could actually be used for Fight Caves, so that Jaddy couldn't snipe you as easily. Or perhaps it could be used to fool non-boss enemies that would otherwise be aggressive to you... In the same fashion, that you can't move while in rock form. I'm not saying it's needed, but I do rather hate wasted potential, especially with the highest gem in the game right now. It is rather odd to bring this up now, though... Still, what's with all the negative replies?
  8. Reading the last few replies, I'm not sure you guys got my point... I'm saying that I wouldn't give up the hood's supreme usefulness for anything less than +400 Defenses :P EDIT wow, make that +500s for a baxe, plate, legs, shield set up!!
  9. Anyone else want the Drefender just so that level 100+ players don't have to be seen constantly using level 40 equipment with Barrows/Bandos and Chaotix?
  10. If I had full Primal(2H) minus gaunts/boots I doubt I'd mind solo-clearing GDs, but yeah, it can be pretty rough without exorbitant Defense bonuses...
  11. Yay! JaGEx saves Christmas!
  12. Something worth posting here...! After 3k jars!! 89 curved and 77 long, by the way... lol...
  13. Though I've known about the existence of them, I've never actually seen one till now. Adding blue-faced greegree to my list of Runescape goals. fyi my data suggests that they are around 1:2500 loots from zombie imps My data suggest they are around 1/1000 and i've got more than 20 of them... I've got 7 and they seem to be indeed around 1/1000. (more towards 1/1500 for me though) i've had 14, but anyway the point is that they aren't exactly common. Cracked open more than 3k without one... GDI.
  14. Turn in all those long/curved bones during next xp weekend and you'll have a nice ammount of construction xp. I'm hoarding my fair share and hadn't thought of that! Are you sure they aren't classified under "bonus XP"?
  15. This thread isn't strictly addressed at players who are always busy during a dungeon, which is part of the reason I bumped it. Despite the fact that we are ABLE to rush (and to great effect!) I feel that we were originally intended to compose teams of specialists - A mager, a ranger, a slasher, a crusher, and a stabber, or perhaps a mager, a ranger, a meleer and two skillers who take up some of the many different responsibilties out there. Heh, the above staff vs staff discussion spawned this. In any kind of team other than DGPros it should never be a question, since it takes little time (there is always at least a little downtime for "normals") to create Fire Runes and all other surge runes are bound and I can confidently say that the typical dungeoneer wishes to specialize, the Celestial Catalytic Staff wins hands-down.
  16. Ah, a veiled compliment if I've ever heard one! It sounds as if he could barely contain his jealousy! ;) I urge you to remember that your accomplishments can be discouraging to those less ambitious than you... It's not in any way your fault, of course, but their response is rather natural.
  17. That should be obvious...to be able to access it in the future. There is a reason the best clans don't let in just anyone. Haven't been keeping up too much with this thread, just read this page and your post caught my eye. Really sounds like this game I know, where you grind a lot but in the end you usually get some nifty abilities. And it seems that that particular game changes peoples' ways of thinking after they've ground quite a bit. _ In a sense, having to "grind" to get to the good forums could be a good thing. Taking from what I said above, it pretty much insures that only higher leveled players, whom naturally have more to discuss, would join. ... Well, not really a good thing to me personally, but as a pro to your hypothetical suggestion anyway. @Original post: There were some really [cabbage]ty members when I joined, and there are some really [cabbage]ty members now, although as I've noticed more and more, the way those particular people act can vary greatly, to where their behavior would warrant kicking in some places and merit in others. In some cases, these people just barely skim "the line" between full-out rulebreaking and what can "technically" be considered "opinion" or "argument", but they proceed this way quite often, to the point that it's rather obvious and also pathetic that just because they're technically within the bounds of the rules means that they can act the ways that they do... Stupid rules. The only rule should be "Don't be an [wagon]."... There's a pretty obvious difference between sincerity and assholism. Actually I would also like to add that people simply get bitter the more they play. Per your specific examples, someone near those levels is far more likely to empathize and congratulate those people, while someone of a far higher level is likely to think that those players haven't had to suffer (in a manner of speaking) through what they did and don't deserve praise.
  18. Actually I was also wondering if super poison on arrows made a significant difference? I can't remember if bosses are able to be poisoned or not although it's not like they're all there is to be ranged. Well i can't imagine HHB being worth it without good arrows, otherwise it'd just be an average bow. Also, the only other ammo bind really worth it would be surgebox, and switching between 3 classes just isn't as efficient(and you can only use ring for two of those classes). Also, as you are saying you couldn't imagine a better setup, considering that you'd get a 4th bind for a quest and 5th for 120(assuming you get there), what would you bind? Defensive binds are mostly selfish and don't help the team out alot, where as offensive binds are geared toward being more useful for your team. Most people who have the same same setup as you(i think it's the most common setup at 100-113 right now) have already loaded their bind list with defensive binds(2/3) so from there on, binding primal legs/skirt would just be ridiculous. Would defensive binds not be best until you are actually able to find a HHB?
  19. I am bumping this thread so that people may see how things have changed in light of Warped as well as [what is news relative to when this thread was created] that there will be an additional bind slot given through a quest (the poster I read this reminder from said the req for the quest was announced to be lower than level 60 Dungeoneering, but I don't remember if the original Q&A said so or not!) Please discuss your personal binds, the most efficient binds, the most selfish binds, realistic binds (the full five binds isn't realistic for most ;) ), and your dream binds. Personally my least realistic bind set would be Primal minus the gauntlets or boots with the 2h or spear, or basically any T11 3 armor + a weapon set. (To clarify, I do have a SSH and realize its significance... But yeah!!)
  20. I think many of the replies to this thread stray quite a bit away from the intended topic... Actually, all of them do. The given beginning example is obviously something that has been overlooked while almost every reply is... Game mechanic... I will admit however that there is a fine line separating some examples here. I'd say that conistency definitely meets that line, such as the RC emote and rune sizes - they are likely large in the emote because it's meant to be showing off, and large on the ground because they need that large click-able area, but I think it's obvious that runes are tiny, perhaps American quarter sized. God Wars Dungeon bosses aren't explained well as far as I am aware, although this can be half-assedly remedied by simply making the doors far larger, or some more boss-specific elements such as making Kree'arra's room have a frozen-over hanger door, or the Kril Tsutsaroth's room having a large pool of lava he could have crawled out of. It doesn't really make sense in the first place for them to be in rooms by themselves, but mechanically speaking if they were out in the main room it would be like DKs x 10. Also, the bosses would pretty much 1- or 2-hit most any of the enemy combatants. Technically Zamorak's faction was against all three others so 3v1 wouldn't be too mechanically sound either. The way the GWD is now is practically the "easiest out" they could think of while still partially simulating a war frozen in time. It really is far more difficult to think of something that simply should not be when you realize this. The reason the example is different is because it isn't being explained away with Magic or something, lol... It's simply an impassible barrier.
  21. Uh, opposite, I think. I can't stand to train most non-combat skills anymore, and already have all combat 99s, so... I'd like to say that I've gone through all the flaming hoops to get the best gear aside from a DSS. I even masochisted my way through Mobilsing Armies!! I'm not really sure that I can see how combat is more boring or tedious than other things. I'm wondering, then, what DO you find enjoyable now?
  22. Wow lol... Just wondering though how is he able to use Super Prayer Potions in PvP?
  23. And the reason everything in this world has to revolve around you is....? The fact is, this is actually a very good update for skillers and even gives some nice benefits for pkers, without actually requiring high levels(i think the highest is 81 hunter). Definitely a nice update. That's not what I meant at all, but I'll leave it to you to draw as negative a conclusion as possible. It's a nice update but there's not much in it for me and I lament that the quest wasn't released alongside it like Mod Emilee said it would be. By mentioning that, I figured someone might link or quote whatever excuse they came up with this time.
  24. Uh... So I need 77 Farming to even be able to attract them all? Guess that's 74 with boosts or something... Not to be totally f-n ungrateful, but the quest was all I was looking forward to this month. You see, I wouldn't be so disappointed if Mod Emilee hadn't CONFIRMED that we would get both updates this week. I tried, I really did, to find something from this update that would benefit me personally, but seeing how I don't fish sharks, mine anything but concentrated ores, and did Herblore the LONG and EXPENSIVE way there isn't much to appeal to me here. I don't farm on a regular basis cuz I can't schedule my life around plants, so even the nice Hunter XP aspect of this doesn't help me, since as far as I can tell this update is not a significant source of Farming XP and I don't have the level to attract the Draconic garjankles...
