More easily hit while not attacking
the only relevant fact i can contribute to this thread is that if you are fighting "defensive" you have SLIGHTLY higher defense, whether you are attacking or just standing there.

farming record?
You get the tipit forums BS award, congradulations! =D> 19 is my high. You realy can't say he is lying because it is possible though very very unlikely it is still possible to get extremely lucky. This has been beaten to death on pages 2-4. It was hilarious to watch Paw try to walk his way out of the lie, but it is in fact a statistical impossibility that one could average 15-18 over that many runs. Having done several hundred seed runs of my own, my all time high is 13. If we were to say that I was "very, very unlucky" and the chance of getting more than 13 herbs is one in fifty, then we can figure this out. Since to average 15-18 would require every herb to be in that 13-22 range, and he said he did herb runs once every 3 days, then we have 28 seeds planted. To get a yield higher than 13 given a 1/50 chance of yielding this, and then doign it 28 times in a row would require a .02^28 roll. The outcome is 2.68 X10-48, or that there is a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000268 percent chance of accomplishing this. Think about those odds like this. If you had one toothpick in a pile for every person in the world (6 billion), and got one pick, you would have to pick the correct toothpick FIVE TIMES IN A ROW before the event became less unlikely than catching a 1/50 draw 28 times in a row. As an edit, I increased the odds to 1/10 of getting a better yield than 13 to counter the argument that I'm simply historically unlucky. To get 28 yields of such value in a row, you're looking at: 0.000000000000000000000000001 percent odds now. Better, but still would need to pick that toothpick 4 times in a row! http://www.confused.com

The Running Thread
my school is 80% latino so for us are 100m are mexicans are 200 meters mexicans 400m mexicans 800m mexican and are 1600m mexicans oh and i forgot hurdles a white guy the only person on are team that starts thats not latin we dont got much black kids in are school so were all mexican runners that are great at long distance my school is basically a 98% white jesuit highschool :? we have one black kid who we have do about 4 events, real cool kid but his knee gave out from running so much we have a really good "white" guy who qualified for 4 things in districts( 200,400,300,110) for cross country when we were a AAA team (we got moved to AA this year)- we won states 5/6 times from 2000-2006, completely epic. i think ANY team can contribute success to discipline, dedication, an awesome coach, and teamwork. it also helps if you don't have any whiny [girl dogs] on your team.

The Running Thread
just got back from districts. terrible sunburn... i got third in my heat for the 400, i got a PR at 60.54 but the best kid ran like 52.6?!?!?? our 4x8 team won their heat but placed 8th overall, they handed them medals and then said "oh wait, you were the slow race!" -.- our 4 x 1 team tripped and got dqed. our #1 and #2 mile runners got 7th and 8th in the 1600. basically we got crushed i'm glad its all over, i'm starting to fall apart and soon ill be able to relax and swim. freedom! (for a few weeks at least)

Jagex gives banned accounts a 2nd chance.
i don't agree with people who are dissing rulebreakers. we were all 11 years old once, whether or not we played runescape at that time, we all were. just because i used a macro program for 95k mage exp doesn't mean i don't deserve my old main back- i've remained faithful to jagex for almost three years since the ban, and i have .8 blackmarks on this account. i obviously deserve a second chance. my last chance appeal:

school network security challenge
If the PSP doesn't work and you still need to find a network, I'd recommend getting a $0.99 app for your touch called WifiTrack. I have a similar free app (which has since been discontinued) that often picks up on networks the internal finder doesn't find (usually lower-signal ones) and makes it easier to connect to the ones with lower signals. Just in case. :) thats what i'm using :D

school network security challenge
thank you for your replies. i had a talk with the administrator today. he was suprised to see my interest in computers as he has fixed my mother's computer several times. he said that we are welcome to do any analytical work this weekend but we are not permitted to start the serious stuff til monday. he explained that i have to document everything i do even if it fails. today: i scanned the network with my ipod touch. it does not have a password. unfortunatly the network does not seem to be compatible for my ipod touch, so on monday i'll have to use my psp to scan. i also might try to access the router using a computer in school

school network security challenge
i think i'm going to try it. i'm not 100% sure. the word on the street is that he does it every 4-5 years; last time he did it, he used the results and flaws to completely rebuild the school network. a few useful things that i can do: 1. bring my ipod touch into the library and scan for a wireless network. if i connect use the iNet app to see what computers are connected to the network. 2. log on as a (less-tech-savy) teacher using their username and the default password 3. log on as a student who either dropped out or went elsewhere using the defualt password. i have done some basic diagnostics i have the ip adress of the school and the main server is running win 2003 server addition the command prompts and right clicks are disabled on each regular user's computer. there are only two admin accounts: "smith" and "jenkins" (for example) i've found that the maximum length for any password is 8 characters. here is my battle plan on monday 1. scan for a wireless network and hope to get on. 2. run iNet 3. go to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 and hopefully log on with the admin/admin or root/root password set. 4. if i am able to do this, i can open ports on the network and re-route traffic to a different ip adress. 5. i will re-route the router to my home network and then run ettercap (lan analyzer) 6. ettercap will be used to sniff for entered passwords over the network 7. using 192.168.1.1 i will disable the i-prism internet policy for access. i'd say maybe a 30% chance of success with the above method here is my plan on tuesday 1. log on a school computer using a teachers username and default password 2. go to logmein and set up a backdoor of sorts. 3. see what teachers are able to do- maybe they don't have command prompt disabled? 4- idk where to go from here how does this sound? i know it may be somewhat flawed.

school network security challenge
there has been a "challenge" set out by the school network admin (and family friend of mine) for students in his computer class to detect holes in the security of the school and website network (i feel like i'm on HTS :ugeek: ) regularly, it is against school policy to do such manipulation, however he is making an exception. this challenge has been set for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. anyone who gets far in enough to manipulate data, take the website/computers down, or log on as an admin gets a 100 for the year in his class and automatic placement into the advanced computer class next year. the rules: you must not manipulate or tamper with data that you do not report in your end paper (yes we have to submit a paper) no data will be destroyed or we will be disqualified (he is backing up all data for this contest, just in case) no overflows or permanent damage should be done. any type of "flooding" should be done during 6pm-6am. all school computers should remain functional for each school day (unless specifically reported) you may work in groups but all students must be currently attending -our- school we must register for this in his classroom or office, and have a breif chat with him. the challenge starts monday. there will be an afterschool work session on tuesday and thursday. i am not totally sure if he has purposely put holes in the security or not. i will probably have to use a combination of my ipod touch, home computer, and school computer to get the job done it sounds like we are going to have to report our every move to him.. might become more of a chore than an activity. i will stop here incase this is against the rules. i'm just explaining this unique opportunity. what do you guys think, should i go for it? :ohnoes:

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Now read it back to yourself. You sound a bit confused. And that makes sense. You just met this girl, everything is very new and to top it all off you're "fresh" off a long term relationship. I wouldn't consider three months fresh, but the important concept is that you do. I don't remember your situation from 50 pages ago exactly, but I do remember commenting on it for it's complexity. I assume you cared alot for your old gal and now you're having trust issues. perfectly normal reactions. For you I pray this girl isn't using you. I would say she isn't, but I'm not her. My advice is to keep your mind away from such thoughts, go to prom and have a good time. well, i'd say that your completely fine. just go and have a good time, and maybe hang out with her once or twice before prom. thats always a good idea. if after you hang out with her you still see a risk in rejection at prom, have a backup plan. if she is running off and flirting with other guys, you should be able to go off and flirt with other girls. play to win the game. if she has some feelings for you and sees that your screwing around with other girls, the end ressult of the night can be fabulous. likewise, if she runs off first, you've got nothing to lose  breakdown: 1. hang out 2. go to prom 3. have backup plan 4. have fun at prom -if girl runs off 1. do the same 2. chase after her : 5. realize that no matter what happens, you can still have fun at prom.
