  1. They're a bit like a less boring Yes?
  2. The only power metal I really ever "got" was Fates Warning, Legend (US), Manilla Road and Hammers of Misfortune.
  3. http://www.last.fm/user/melganiks <-- me/in my sig yeah new last.fm layout is baaaad. too much [cabbage].
  4. I could always do Summoning, the essentials of Tangerine Dream, Manilla Road, Darkthrone, and Burzum. Numerous others too, but if I got time, I'll get around to one.
  5. Manilla Road - The Ram
  6. Indeed, Lustmord and B. Rich's Stalker is the best dark ambient record, ever imo. Yeah, a thing to know about Krautrock is that it's more of a era indicator than anything. There's no real general sound, but, it's usually really experimental. It's also split into 2 parts: Electronic and the more psych stuff. Electronic Tangerine Dream Klaus Schulze Kraftwerk Cluster Kluster (lol im serious) Neu! Rockish stuff Can (Future Days is more electronic though) Amon Düül Amon Düül II Popol Vuh Ash Ra Tempel La Düsseldorf Agitation Free Guru Guru Pyramid (make sure you get the german one) Ratio is unbalanced, for every good 1 rockish album, there's like 3 good electronic ones, rofl. Another thing worth checking out is zeuhl (more experimental rock fare). It has like 3 bands that I've heard that are pretty good: Magma, Ruins and Koenjihyakkei. I've blown people's minds with that little fact. It's great too. np: Inquisition - unholy magic attack
  7. Good dark ambient: Aäkon Këëtrëh, Moëvöt, Diagnose: Lebensgefahr, and recently Elffor. That's about all I listen to. Good black metal (none of these are "pure" black metal): Anaal Nathrakh, Blut aus Nord, Shining, Silencer, Judas Iscariot, Life is Pain, Make a Change... Kill Yourself, and check out Dictius te Necare by Bethlehem. Not sure if you'll like any of them, but if you do, say which ones and I'll point you in the direction of a bit more like it. Sweet, I'll check those out when I get home Likewise. Listening to... Darkthrone- Transilvanian Hunger Album Just finished listening to Zakk Wyldes demo stuff too if that counts. :P lustmord and Raison d'être are two prime dark ambient bands lots of berlin school: tangerine dream, klaus schulze and such do good for ambient alternatives. @silversword: indeed, i only stick to like 1 "folk metal" band in general and its viking metal actually. Tangerine Dream - Phaedra
  8. why would i listen to mathcore when i could listen to terrorizer.
  9. should be illegal. aural terrorism!
  10. rage against the machine? lol.
  11. I defeat people on their own battlefields. Anything else and they wouldn't understand. Insults are effective, but his weren't. Nothing in my post is hypocritical, and it's 100% right. Much like my opinions. Besides, if someone attacks; you don't only tell him to stop, but you attack yourself. It's best to defend yourself.
  12. ^How the hell is it a strawman? He never explicitly stated that it was based on "the average rapper", in fact, he said: "It doesn't take talent to compose music, we did that at age 11 in music class." That's a dumb statement in general and he never restricted it to rappers, and if he did, it would've been a strawman. when losing an argument and all else fails, insult the person. ace job, idiot. thanks for verifying who you were talking about in your post while making that GENERAL statement. even if you did, you're still wrong, and always will be. i don't think you should be allowed an opinion if you're as dumb as a rock. therefore, you're opinion is void and it doesn't really matter what you say, knave. says the man who plays runescape. it's actually rather ironic, considering you could learn all this by taking one lesson a week or just listening to music 2 hours a day. i'm pretty sure you could fit this into your "busy" schedule of obviously being superior to us poor, lonely, pathetic, depressed people who spend time listening to music (which you can, and I have while dating, hanging out with friends and playing sports). =( or you could just be a dipsh~t who has no better argument than his own lack of education and unwillingness to earn one... despite how simple it really is! i'm going more with the latter.
  13. What does it matter if its mostly computer-generated? I don't know if you're adding on my point or arguing it, but that's my point. It doesn't matter. Adding, I agree 100%. I'm rather vigilant on this too; due to the fact that some of my favorite artists are highly skilled electronically musical pioneers. This sort of ignorance is mind blowing.
  14. Klaus Schulze - Mirage Easily one of the best of the berlin school era albums out there, and hardly known these days. For fans of Tangerine Dream and ambient music.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT7Z6QqVUdI waah
  16. Legend - the best heavy metal band you don't know about. Viking metal years before Bathory conjured the idea.
  17. Sacramentum - Obsolete Tears this band makes dissection obsolete (h)
  18. Could you be any more ignorant if you tried? -.- [bleep], I mean it's not like Musical composition is a talent or anything. What does it matter if its mostly computer-generated?
  19. Quick question. What's the lyrics in your sig from? If they're lyrics, of course. But the millions of people living as foes rings a bell. WHAT IS THIS GOOGLE YOU SPEAK OF
  20. Honestly...these artists are really popular. You could probably find the entire album on YouTube.
  21. the other 3 never happened.
  22. Don't you mean Bob Rock? Possibly. I will accuse him of the commercialization of the band, but, I cannot let the swift decay in quality go unnoticed in their 80s albums.
  23. does it really matter if metallica is returning to their thrash metal roots again? it's not the genre that made them suck, but it's they themselves who make them suck. think about it, slipknot sound like fusion of in flames, mallcore and some random death core, but that didn't make them any better...not at all. it felt like some illusion and a terrorizing one at that.
  24. I like Nicholson's Joker better personally, but this movie does look a bit better than most this summer.
