  1. Technically you can still do that with the quick reply box I think.
  2. Blah fine, I'll leave this one open since you have more specific questions. In the future please pm someone though instead of creating a whole new topic. OT: What do you guys think of a "ask clan questions here" sticky? 1. What is tanking? Tanking is attempting to survive while being piled (attacked by the majority of other clan members) 2. Is Downfall the number one in runescape? No, probably one of the more active ones that post here. The top clans at the moment are in a bit of a mess. 3. Is clan wars or pk wars more popular? Smaller clans do clan wars, larger ones do pkris. 4. How does a war actually happen in pk world, in clan wars obviously it is most kills or whoever loses all their people but how does this work in pking? Basically whoever stops coming back to fight first loses. 5. Can anybody recommend any clans that would be good for a first timer? PKM is a good choice :P
  3. I had 250ish rune sets, though I sold them all when I quit. I can't seem to find a picture either :(

    Hi!

If you're looking for a clan, you can check out the recruitment board. I don't think this topic is going to generate much discussion, so I'm locking it. Just read some of the topics here and you should get a pretty good idea what's going on.
  5. Even removing it based on post count could be disastrous - without going into detail I can think of a few situations where flood control has been a life saver.
  6. Permission to siggy? Pretty much sums up my feelings about the issue in a nutshell, plus I like your way with words :P
  7. I suppose people could tag the guide with [P2P] or [F2P] but if you're asking for separate forums I doubt thats worth it.
  8. I wouldn't say no one likes them - I certainly don't want more than one per game but don't mind them if they aren't too ridiculous.
  9. I have a varied opinion of animal rights. I'm a firm believer in the fact that there's nothing wrong with eating animals - I believe they are here for our consumption, and we need them to survive(although technically we could survive on vegetables alone). However, I don't think any animal should suffer needlessly, so seeing something like that video is a bit off putting. Also, the beating/maltreatment of pets is not something I'm okay with either. However - I greatly dislike the overzealousness of many animal rights organizations - Peta for example is hypocritical and does nothing - and organizations like Greenpeace take things way too far. As much as I don't want animals being abused - I believe in solving the human problems of this world before we concentrate on animals. I find it hard to take people who are concerned about seal hunting seriously when there are hundreds of millions malnourished children all over the world - there is war, racism...and I won't even mention my feelings on abortion :P
  10. Like Dsavi said, all that would be doing is putting a rank, or special privileges, to users who have that kind of trust already. Once you've been around long enough, and posted constructively etc, you gain respect, and more than any rank can give. That said, its not that bad of an idea. And you did explain it pretty well :)
  11. Gratz BK, better luck next time DF :)
  12. Sorry to hear that, have a happy retirement rain, and good luck to all akel members looking for a new clan.
  13. Not running specifically, but its scientifically proven that regular cardio exercise is incredibly helpful in keeping you more alert and generally healthy. I've also started to eat better (than I was at any rate) and even though I do a very very minimal work out I feel more energetic etc.
  14. Just experiment with all the characters. Pyro is the easiest. You know..I always thought medic was the easiest, and no I am not a heal-bot who stick to a heavy all the time. As a medic you just run to the front lines and try to overheal everyone and heal anybody who is under fire, I actually play have more time on medic than my other classes. Best I think was 5 ubers(the original one) and...11 domination? Ehh maybe but I still think you need more skill to know where to stand, who to heal etc. Pyro is basically just turn on your flamethrower and run around wildly.
  15. Agreed. For better or worse, its an ideal, not a reality and will stay that way. It's the law. I can't argue that people's religious status isn't affecting the state of laws being passed, but in clear-cut cases like these where the only debate for it is religion, then it's clear that it should have no standing at all in Congress or anywhere government related. Is it only a debate for religion? I know a lot of non-religious people who object to it on the grounds of it being unnatural and disgusting. (Their opinions)
  16. Fair enough. I never mentioned the bible at all tbh ;) My views as a Christian are based on what I see as reasonable and sensible. I don't expect others to see it that way nor will I try to force them to.
  17. You make it sound as if gay men went around frolicking any time it was possible. Maybe "controlling urges" was a wrong choice of words. "Repressing feelings" fits better to what I'm saying. It's unhealthy to deceive yourself and live a lie just because of social pressure or religious guilt. -And that's not the same as saying people should always act on every whim that they had.- Me liking men better than women won't destruct society. And I'd say you have it easy being called a "conservative idiot" in the internet. In Catholic Latin America, it's hard enough to be a socialist, never mind an agnostic or a homosexual. There we go :P Repressing yourself can often be bad, yes, but I'd say controlling yourself never is. And I didn't mean that last comment to specifically apply to this issue - rather if no one controlled themselves at all on any issue civilization couldn't survive. See - here's the thing. If someone calls me a "conservative idiot" or a "stupid catholic" I find that insulting - but nothing happens. If I call someone a "stupid gay person" I can be put in jail for hate crimes (here at least). There's a bit of an unbalance there in my eyes I guess it stems from my belief that the primary, natural, most basic purpose of sex is procreation. Strengthening relationships, enjoyment, etc are all side effects - but I believe if the basic purpose of the act is negated then the side effects alone don't warrant a proper sexual relationship. (Thus my dislike for contraception).
  18. Are you just trying to make the point that actions are controllable or are you saying there are circumstances when people should not 'be gay'? If you're arguing the first, I mostly agree, but there are times when urges do take over, and if you're arguing the second then I have no idea why. Yeah, I'm just trying to make the point that actions are controllable. Well my personal belief is that it's unnatural, and a sin. I'm Christian. However, I don't expect the majority to want to control that urge for someone else's opinions so I'm not going to argue that :P [quote name=1230abcz' dat e='18 November 2009 - 04:22 PM' timestamp='1258579349' post='3973278] WT...F...? I don't know what your standing is, but let me get this clear for myself. Being gay is unnatural, but resisting a primordial urge to have sex isn't? Huh? It's a choice, yes; so is everything else, but that doesn't mean something that's a choice should be outlawed because it goes against the supposed status quo of the conservative idiots who think their opinions should affect the actions of others. Edit: What are you trying to say exactly? I really have no idea. This is exactly what I mean when I say it's difficult to be religious. I state my opinion in a fair and reasonable way and immediately come under fire by someone calling me a "conservative idiot" simply because I say controlling urges is possible. I think being gay is "unnatural" in the strictest sense of the word - however unlike some I don't see being gay as a disease, or something that can be "fixed". I also never said it should be outlawed ;) Yes, it's true. It's possible to hide your feelings and block your thoughts, and even make a life whilst rejecting that. Gay people have already became celibate and some have even forced themselves to live a heteronormative life. But that's just unhealthy and there are no good reasons people should do that, instead of heeding their emotional and physical urges. So what you are saying is controlling urges is unhealthy? And that just because we have urges, we have something we "want" we should act upon it? If everyone did that civilization would be nonexistent.
  19. It's really just the way he worded things: why would ANYONE choose to be something that can make life harder due to discriminations etc? In the context of your story, it would be pretty hard to believe someone would willingly choose to put up with all the hardships you have to face on a daily basis. However, there are many cases where people do choose to be something that makes life harder due to discrimination (think of religion). Exactly. Being religious in today's day and age you face a lot of discrimination, people seem to have no respect for your opinion. Now I don't really have an opinion about why people are "gay" but I firmly believe acting on it is a choice - as is acting on anything for any person. For what reasons (or examples) are you saying it is a choice? Being gay isn't a choice(or at least I don't think it is, I can't tell since I'm not) Acting on it is, 100%. For example, as a straight male, I have sexual urges. I was with my girlfriend last night babysitting her little cousin, and her cousin had went to bed. I wanted to..do...things...but I controlled myself due to the fact it would be disrespectful to do so in someone elses house when they had trust placed upon me. Thus, I had urges and chose not to act on them. I'm friends with several gay people. I talk to them fairly frequently. The point I'm trying to make here is that many people (on this thread or elsewhere) paint a picture like "I'm gay, I have to act upon it). You don't have to. I realize it's hard, incredibly hard, but straight people do it (Example: priests, nuns, etc.) and some nonreligious people for personal reasons. We aren't animals - we have a choice with every action we make regardless of our orientation.

  21. Not such a fan of the first, I like the second though. As Steve said I'd do away with that cloudy effect, I don't think it works too well here.
