  1. MONO - Loco Tracks I think I love just about everything this band has ever done.
  2. Hate to be the fun police, but this is full of spam. Not to mention we have a thread about [bleep]ing middle-schoolers fighting every week. Locked.
  3. MONO - Ode Just listening to some random songs off their Walking Cloud album. It's a pretty tragic album if you know the backstory: Yeah. I knew it had something to do with the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, but I wasn't sure quite what it was.
  4. Akuma no Uta by Boris. Nothing like that long, droning intro track to wake up to.
  5. Earth 2: Special Low Frequency Version by Earth. More like Special Lo)))w Frequency Versio)))n.
  6. CDs are a waste of money anyway. Vinyl is where it's at. If you're going to buy music, it's the only way.
  7. 10-20 by 10-20. Ambient dub. Really good [cabbage], pretty much how I like ambient music.

    Ska

I really like Streetlight Manifesto, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, Leftover Crack, The Specials, and Star F*cking Hipsters. I used to like Less Than Jake, but I can't say that I really enjoy them anymore. Oh, and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.
  9. What speeds do you pay for? Check to see if anyone is downloading torrents on your network. That'll kill your bandwidth faster than anything else. If they're not, call your ISP.
  10. Luminous Orange - Chapter 22 Just listening to random music right now.
  11. [hide=][/hide] This is the only meme that ever stayed with me from my 4chan days.
  12. Huh? At least the first two really remind me of a poor man's The Bends. Part of the reason I'm not keen on Muse is because they sound too similar to Radiohead, albeit more accessible, if you can actually say that (by that, I mean less introspective and such). They have good songs, but I find it really hard work to get through a Muse album entirely. Just my two cents.
  13. The Bends by Radiohead. The album that Muse wishes they could recreate, but come horribly short of, each release.
  14. School Girl Distortional Addict by Number Girl. Reminds me heavily of Sonic Youth and Pixies. Very solid album; it's loud, raucous, and unpolished, but that's what makes it as good as it is. [bleep] note-perfect stuff.
  15. Pink by Boris. The Southern Lord vinyl version. Extended songs and such.
  16. I can understand really basic Japanese (like stuff a 6 year old could). I think I thought the same thing when I tried to get into Japanese music, that I didn't know what it was about so I wouldn't enjoy it. :P But I've put it to the back of my mind now. Also, I found a translation: [hide=]A parachute opened too soon at a plant-covered intersection A demon made his crossing just in time And fluttered in a gust of wind All Day Holiday All Day Holiday The path back home is far away Hands reach for a ladder and a too-blue skylight opens If you give up on climbing the ladder, You'll get blown away by a big wind. All Day Holiday All Day Holiday The path home is far away Catch the flame of confusion! Parachute, Parachute, Parachute! Hands reach for a ladder and a too-blue skylight opens Parachute, Parachute, Parachute! Where's the best place to land? The frothing voice becomes wind, too Catch the flame of confusion! Parachute, parachute, parachute! Parachute, parachute, parachute! Parachute, parachute, parachute![/hide] As for what I'm listening to: L.S.T. by Shugo Tokumaru. I always listen to all of his albums when I'm in the mood for that sort of music.
  17. Exit by Shugo Tokumaru. I sometimes have trouble listening to this fully. Not because it's bad, not at all. The first song is just so good that I want to listen to it all day. [yt]Li_nc8ED6qI[/yt] Definitely something for Intriguing and How2PK to look into, but probably not to the taste of others here unless you really like weird Japanese folk.
  18. [hide=] Faaaaaaaaaaaat. Also, standing under my light wasn't the best idea, but my room is so dark Why does my hair always look messier than it actually is on pictures?[/hide]

    Today...

That is a fine motor, Lent.
  20. I never did get into Animal Collective much. They're pretty highly-regarded in the music circle I belong to, but I can't seem to enjoy their music. Perhaps I'm listening to the wrong albums. I thought you finally 'got' them half a year ago when Merriweather Post Pavillion came out? I liked it a lot when it first came out, yeah. But I tried to listen to it recently and I just got so bored after about 3 tracks. It's not even like I overlistened to it or anything. Weird. Alright. I'll look into them. Still listening to that You [bleep]! album. It's really good.

    Shoegaze

Yeah shoegaze and post-rock kind of cross over a lot, but post-rock takes more influence from classical music where shoegaze is based more around psychedelia and noise rock. Each has elements of the other though - for example MONO's early work has strong shoegaze elements. I don't think so, but I'll definitely look into them now.
  22. Critical Meat by You [bleep]! This band is great. I even think their somewhat tasteless name fits them quite well.
  23. Actually, nevermind. Use the thread that Nadril posted.
  24. I never did get into Animal Collective much. They're pretty highly-regarded in the music circle I belong to, but I can't seem to enjoy their music. Perhaps I'm listening to the wrong albums. Sakura River by Clams. Imagine if MBV was slower and much less abrasive and dense. That's Clams.
