Ask for a follow-up article then. Might get it too.

Tip.It Times - 24th April 2011
There's a thread around here where essence bots weren't updated for a while to help raise the price of ess and pure ess. This month, rune essence went up from 22 to 27. Pure went from 87 to 183 and is crashing again. Just a small example of RWT being a strain on the economy. 2nd article's longwinded, but on the subject of gnomecopters and in-game advertising, if Jagex had kept that and little things like agility giving a boost in F2P players would feel pressured to get members. Not that it's a bad thing. Jagex certainly wouldn't seem hypocritical now with their statement of "F2P is not a demo" when everywhere you look there are limitations. Then again it looks like things are headed towards the gnomecopters again, just look at all the in-your-face member things all over dungeoneering in F2P, not to mention the dual holiday event this Easter with members coming to F2P worlds hacking at evil hawthorn trees.

Developers Console...
Hasn't communication from the developer mods and the community mods always been operating as if they were fogged or bottle-necked? The mistakes in the knowledge base on the main website for things like dungeoneering weapon stats, the stat resets being bugs, etc. If they strengthened this it would address all sorts of problems and the company's image.

Developers Console...
It's a violation of their TOS to mod the real client, therefore it is cheating. Sure, they allowed some access to their dev console, but I don't think they reckoned anyone would play around with trying to unlock more client-side commands. Some screencaps below, the quality is terrible due to my being on a work laptop: [spoiler=Ortho command enabled:] [spoiler=Zoom command 150:] EDIT: reply to Wolfie's post But it's often been that way for a while. It's why I feel most players' attitudes toward the game has been poisoned or jaded or whatever you want to call it, especially after the Free Trade referendum.

Not mine, found this little tidbit: Early damage control, anyone?

The watered down IE version Jagex is parading around as a "client" - which it isn't, not really - is the one that's open source. The one you rip/download off any of their servers isn't, according to their fine print.
-
Developers Console...
You're downloading the client off an actual runescape server, so that is safe. That's also why it looked slow downloading. The 3rd party hex editor offered is commonly used and is ranked pretty highly. You don't like it, then use your own. The only thing you have to worry about is the separate launcher. But as Pulli said, look through the source java files. The line you're supposed to change in the video you mention is outdated now anyway.

You can get a similar effect by using re-sizable in browser, and having like 2 or more monitors side by side. Too bad you have to move your arm like mad. Dual monitors feel disjointed. Rather have a huge screen as always that allows for high resolution. <3: Only problem being it's so difficult to click green orbs.

This looks to have been out since late January of this year, actually. So your hunch might be correct.

That clears it. Thanks for explaining the dubious fine print. Such a pity, really. And not like those who used this care much about being banned at this point, I suppose. If it happens, it happens. Hell I'd say enough folk are barking mad over the bots and the general feeling of neglect; they'd just damn the consequences and go right ahead. Heh.

About the shift-click command. It looks as if it just automatically selects the second option on the right click menu. So say you have a nature rune, normally it'll say "use" when you hover. Holding down shift and mousing over the rune shows drop. This would make power-leveling mining so much easier, perhaps.

Beautiful, isn't it. Now the developer console doesn't feel so cosmetic. To Sees: imagine playing with Orthozoom in GOP. You can see immediate orb spawns so quickly. EDIT: Orthozoom at 100 feels right at home. Makes it feel so nostalgic. Ultima, Diablo, Divinity, oh gods... Excuse me, I'll be going on a nostalgia trip.
-
Developers Console...
In the downloads section, Jagex has a line stating their client is open-source anyway.
-
Developers Console...
Looking glorious. I wonder if Jagex will end up locking the developer console if a modded client for this gets passed around. EDIT: Neat, there's a tutorial on how to unlock it. Heheheh.

Jagex - Bot Busting
Sounds like an outdated miner script to me.

Developers Console...
Doesn't only look good, it reminds me of some old RPGs and MMORPGs, especially with the isometric look for the dungeon floor screenshot. I'd love to be able to play with these perspectives.

20-Apr-2011 - Dungeoneering Guide Competition
It's not much of an improvement. It's not really being lazy. It's more like using your in-game time wisely. Thing is, the lamp method appears efficient because the player ends up unlocking so many floors prior to serious training, their prestige after c1ing all the floors they can do is an effective rocket start. They skip the tedium of leveling to their 2nd bind.

20-Apr-2011 - Dungeoneering Guide Competition
Hmm. A guide for that would have these things for me: The first 11 bosses? Deal damage, pray/pray flash against strongest attack, and gatestone out to heal when low on hp until the boss is dead. Exceptions being the behemoth - tank it, and the ice fiend - walk in a straight line from one end of the room to the other to avoid taking any damage from the icicle special. The floor monsters and their weaknesses? Just follow the combat triangle. If that fails, melee. Use obstacles to even things out into 1v1 combat when necessary. The bind system? Heh. Either spears or best crush/slash weapon and a blast/surgebox when found. Arrows are fine if you can grab a good bow from the starting table of each dungeon floor. Puzzles? Just look up the wiki. Keying: good memory, opening doors in the following order: door, key door, skill door, puzzle door, guardian door. Kill only guardian room monsters, puzzle room monsters if needed. Dungeoneering lingo is nothing but shorthand that's easily parsed with some common sense, i.e. ggs gd is teleport to the group gatestone for a guardian door. As for gates and efficiency, obey the leader and offer to gate doors the leader hasn't a key to yet. Oh, and taking 3 minutes to identify a door with rocks in front of it is pretty silly. Always carry a toolbox. Dungeoneering is an end-game skill so the ideal player is maxed or has high skills. Learn all the skill boosting potions. All that for the first 11 floors. This assumes no hood, no level 50 2nd bind, and very basic class rings. I do find it unfortunate that people tend to miss the basics when they just use the "lamp method." Can't blame them though. The experience rates appear so horrid when starting out. And Sonic, I'm assuming the guides are targeted at P2P. They definitely should not level in F2P because of the experience cap. It might seem easier to level in F2P for the first handful of levels but this is the point when people start getting into the habit of doing things a certain way. It's better if they remain in P2P. EDIT: Oh, that reminds me. Always Complexity 6 when unlocked. Reset when all floors are marked. And never, ever let go of the group gatestone except leaving it outside the boss door. There's been so many bloody times someone picks up the group gate and dumps it in a dead end room full of monsters just because they want to mine the rocks or fish there. Hell, even I've used it to kill people.

Two pages? More like two sentences. Don't level in F2P. Use lamps, tears, and penguin points to level 33.

If they make a movie, IMO the plot focus should be on the players and the shenanigans people come up with.

RuneScape Cache issue
Try this. Might work, I think. One way around this problem if you're using a browser - such as Firefox - don't close the browser when you're done playing Runescape. Minimize it. If you've a problem with how the game eats up your system just visit another website, like google, then minimize. If you're going to play again obviously use the same tab and just hit the back button to load the game. It's a temporary fix. Every area still has to load once when the browser is first started up, but as long as it's not closed it won't force another reload. It's like every time you shut down the browser the Jagex cache is wiped, almost as if you're always using the unsigned Java applet by default.

Meet one of Jagex's new owners
Sic the people who made Monty Python's Meaning of Life on it and have an odd compare/contrast between Runescape and reality. Well, if it's going to hit bottom, it might as well hit it in style.

A movie? No further details on what it could possibly be about?

19-Apr-2011 - Items Kept on Death Changes
Oh, sure, more reluctant to hit alright. But hitting on? Hah! The bared midriff style is asking for a disemboweling. With a trainee sword. I remember when female armors - especially the chestplates - glitched so that you looked like a god damn American football player. which one would you do? tbh i never noticed the midrift thing, but then ive never changed my character male. Heh. Don't they both look like children? It's like playing dress up with barbie dolls. EDIT: Eggs, your avatar is looking fearsomely handsome.
