Maybe if there was more to dungeoneering than opening doors that are locked for no apparent reason to rooms that are always square to fight bosses that are so simple a 10 year old could do it, with people like you who just want to get maximum expenuses per hour to pass the time in their empty lives it would be remotely interesting.

The ironic thing about this is that I quit Runescape for WoW only a month ago. If I ever come back to RS, I'll feel forced to recruit people just to get better XP, which obviously is Jagex's plan to make bank. Really annoying.

While it's true that bots exist in any MMO, it's also fair to say that the problem is much larger in Runescape for a couple reasons. 1) Almost everything in runescape can be botted. The gameplay of Runescape is much more repetitive than most other MMO's and that is something bots are good at doing, unlike humans who do not have an infinite attention span. 2) Money is extremely important in the Runescape metagame. You need money, and lots of it, to get the highest and most efficient rates of experience in the majority of skills. Unless you are a dice host, lucky staker, or something similar, earning money will slow down your experience gain drastically. These two factors combined make botting, and by extension, RWT (real world trading), very attractive. Bots are much more of a glaring issue in Runescape than in other MMOs.

The reason they have crashed so hard is because of the massive amounts of bots who ragequit black demons and went to camp Living Rock Creatures instead.

I don't think anyone going for the 5k castle war games right now is actually playing them, probably just afking lol. Which brings up another good point, runescape is mostly an "afk" game, meaning that very few people play this game and do nothing else while playing it. Pretty much everyone watches movies/tv/anime while scaping. Some of us even play other games at the same time. SUOMI probably doesn't do it, though, haha. Personally, I'd have quit a long time ago if it weren't for movies and tv shows. That's what's so unique/nice about runescape. It doesn't demand 100% attention like other games (unless you're using USB foot pedals to fletch giga millions of adamant bolts per game tick o wait nvm). Some people prefer that aspect.

Because WoW is 99% endgame content, meaning highly competitive group PvP (battlegrounds and arenas) along with 10-man/25-man raids for PvE endgame. Getting to max level is very easy and quick. WoW is a far more complex game all around. They're very different games, it's almost meaningless to compare them. WoW is a skill-based game whereas Runescape is a time-based game (how many hours a day can you repeat an action over and over). I'm not saying WoW is better. I skimmed SUOMI's interview, it seems like all he was saying is how much he likes everyone, lol

The difference between maxing out on Runescape and any other online game (WoW being what I have in mind) is how repetitive the gameplay is. You literally spend thousands of hours doing the same exact thing over and over (exceptions being dungeoneering and maybe slayer). That's one reason you could say not quitting is a "skill" for the people getting 200m's. I read your whole post, Dustin. Life is a lot like a game. There is no point to a game except to play it. And there is no point in life except to live it. So yeah, do what you enjoy blah blah etc. smoke weed every day son.

On the topic of bots in regards to slayer, has anyone noticed how dreadfully inaccurate a steel titan is against chaos tunnel dagannoths? It's really strange. Don't think I'll go there again. Black demon and dagannoth tasks are so annoying these days. Really frustrating for anyone who power slays, which is anyone going for 200m slayer. Wish there was something we could do about it.
