Only a small portion of gamers can stand the mindless grinding that makes up most of Runescape's gameplay. Other MMORPG's have grind, but it's neither the main focus nor as repetitive as Runescape's. There's a reason why people who play other MMORPG's think Runescape is some kind of a joke. If we want new players to come to Runescape, the game should revolve around the skill of the player, not how many hours a day they can slave away woodcutting trees and running laps on an obstacle course. However, you might as well call it a different game altogether at that point.

if you're not using them on slayer, agility is probably your best bet grats on 100m slay! I'm only @ 50m and I use chaotics and whatnot :thumbup:

The current price of rune bars is determined by the most cost effective way to use them for XP gain, which is rune platelegs or rune 2h swords (about the exact same). You lose a very small amount of money smithing plegs/2h swords compared to platebodies. Nobody smiths rune platebodies, and there are already enough in the game to easily meet any demand for them. Notice that the GP/XP for rune bars is about the same as adamant bars being smithed into platebodies. They rise and fall together.

You bring up many really good points. It really does seem hypocritical to ban 3rd party programs and then make things as easy as they are. However, your conclusion that Jagex is doing something wrong is merely your opinion. Runescape has always been a primarily "casual" game, and it would be silly to say Jagex doesn't understand that. What you're asking for would be so completely different from what Runescape currently is that you might as well call it a new game.

I spend 90% of my time playing RS watching movies/anime, doing homework, talking to people, imageboards/forums, or playing other games like WoW. there's a near endless amount of entertainment and people to talk to in this world that I can access with nothing but a computer and an internet connection. won't run out of things to do before I die. it's a wonderful and powerful thing

idk if it's just me but people on RS, especially those with big ego, seem to try as hard as possible to appear that they're not trying as hard as possible as if effort makes you look like you're stupid

to be fair, when people say AFK training they usually just mean only checking their RS tab every minute or so, not actually being away from their keyboard

Why even log in? because XP is the meaning of life. or because I get restless if I'm not doing something "productive" while I do other more meaningful things like watch movies and talk to people. makes the time pass more easily. people play MMO's like RS and WoW because their lives are empty and they need something to fill it up. ;)

dragon darts can rape pretty hard with a fero ring +40 damage bonus, pretty decent and cheap range XP if you don't plan on getting 99 range through cannon. definitely the most efficient way to traditional range slay

I heard Runescape is a game? If its a game, you are supposed to interact with it. I belive the fun comes from interaction. I don't see any possible interaction fishing rocktails or woodcutting ivy. One of the definitions of botting is gaining xp without even paying attention or even interact with the game. So, I guess I'm not wrong saying that ivy or rocktails is botting. You may feel that way, but the majority of Runescape players make it their goal to put as little effort into the game as possible because frankly the gameplay is very dull and monotone. The only skill I personally enjoy without having to do something else is Slayer, and that's only about half of the time. For every other skill, I'll always choose the method that allows me to watch movies and tv shows, study, etc. Most people feel the same way I do. and that's a silly definition of botting. you know you play rs too much when you start feeling the passing of time IRL every .6 seconds

god forbid the people of Runescape understand how boring and repetitive the slave labor skills of runescape are and AFK fish rocktails obviously against Jagex's wishes. people who actually enjoy doing the same thing for hours on end are a lot like children, who never grow tired of the same joke mommy makes, always laughing just as hard every time. simple entertainment for the simple mind. why do I still play this game :lol: who are buyableking and buyablequeen? (rank 4 and 8 overall) why are their names like that?

as someone who avidly plays WoW I can confirm that most of the players consider Runescape to be for children and teenagers of low intelligence who enjoy the slave labor of repeating an action for hours and hours nice blog, good luck on 99 slay :D oh, I misread the list of achievements, thought the one on the bottom would be the most recent (the 98 slayer one), haha, grats
