That's 3.6 million dollars a year they lost. They will be profiting by 7.6m when people have to pay the new rate, but A) American dollar sucks B) People will have to be cahrged the new rate gradually, over time. 3.6mil a year is pretty small in comparison to an overall of at least 60 mil, more counting those who can't pay by credit card and have to pay more for different services. I highly doubt Jagex is putting all of their revenue back into the company. Still, that is 3.6 million of updates, enough for quite a few employees, a few new servers.

Almost all the members are like "I pay to play, I am automatically entitled to updates every time I snap my fingers, I also don't have a life." That is the main reason I quit members is because of people acting like that.

Jagex is adding stuff like a new mini-game, which is pretty rare for them to update firemaking, so I think they are going to start doing more updates to firemaking.
