The thing is, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to think of something on the order of magnitude of a human in terms of an order of magnitude of, say, a galaxy. All right, let me use a hypothetical to explain why thinking in terms of that Voyager image doesn't make sense. Say we use a common unit of measure, like a meter, and create a new length scale, properly dubbed a "stoopid". We give a stoopid an order of magnitude of 10000000000000000000000000 greater than that of a meter, maybe because we want to use it to measure distances between star systems or whatever. Moving on. So, by inversion of this difference in magnitude the meter would be .0000000000000000000000001 stoopids. Okay? Small number, right? If you were thinking purely in terms of stoopids then, could you give me an example of something that is about .0000000000000000000000000034543 stoopids long? Maybe after a minute or two you'd come to the conclusion that maybe a rabbit would fit the bill. But you'd have to actual pull out a piece of pencil and paper to do it- subconsciously, seeing a number with that many zero's in front of it makes a person go "oh, zero, whatevs." THAT'S A PROBLEM. This ain't 2D world. Bunnies ain't zero feet tall. There are always things way bigger than us, and always things way smaller than us. Trying to think in terms of anything but one's own level simply serves to either trivialize the matter (thinking in terms of galaxy), or overinflate it (thinking in terms of a proton). You CAN'T COMPREHEND at those levels, so why in God's name are you trying? To confuse yourself for the fun of it? Sheer boredom? No girlfriend? What? I think you're missing my point. I'm not trying to comprehend anything, I'm just reminding myself how pointless it is to worry about anything in the first place.

I try and use the whole insignificance thing as a tool to cheer me up. Like, if I'm feeling sad, I'll realize how pointless it is and how pointless everything is and (hopefully) cheer up. Unfortunately when it doesn't work, it makes me even sadder :(

Well I was looking for quest guides at first, and found this site around 5 years ago. Then some time around a year ago I found the forums and registered, and hung around the runescape boards. Around the time I started venturing into off-topic I forgot my password so I made a new account, which is this one :P I've always had an interest in graphic design. But I was put off because photoshop's pretty expensive and the few times I used it, it confused the hell out of me. But I remember reading a thread somewhere here in off topic, where someone asked for a hobby. A couple people recommended gimp and said it was like a free version of photoshop so I got that. I was still really confused, until I ventured into the gallery and started lurking there. Eventually I found out through tuts that it really isn't hard to use at all, and now I lurk in the gallery a lot and post every now and then. Basically I lurk the off-topic boards a lot and every now and then check out the runescape boards to see how the game's doing :P EDIT: oh, and I always have and always will hate the people on blogscape. "lul i <3 ur stats give me som monies pl0x? naise 99 punching too lulz ur pro" ...

Yeah I remember most of the last thread was pretty much what dsavi said :P. I'm not much of a grammar nazi (considering mine is terrible anyways), but it bugs me a LOT when people spell you and are like u and r and things like that, and when people don't use punctuation correctly. Like "so how would you plan on doing that." or "no i'm not going to do that?" Bugs the HELL out of me #-o

Nah it's still just as hard, it's just not as impressive since everyone has it. Kind of like combat 99's. 7/10

Nachalokonets I support, 100%. The large GP influx from the people with rares might be a problem. But then again it would be pretty unfair for the people who worked for their party hats to just lose them all of a sudden. Just beat majora's mask 100%. I've gone through the entire game twice before, but this was the first time I had all 20 hearts at the end :P Now on to Twilight Princess! I haven't played that game in 2 years :lol:

I really like this sig, I think it captures the darkness of Majora's Mask pretty well : I tried following an abstract wallpaper tutorial with this one, but the tutorial was terrible and I ended up quitting it. Then I just used some of the techniques they used (which was really just creating flames/fractals and messing around with layer modes) and made this. I'd also like to note that everything in this was made by me. I just made this one about an hour ago. I tried using flow and triadic colors while following a tutorial. I'd like to know what you guys think about it. C/C please :D
