A game designer isn't an artist. Most of what game designers do is come up with the concept of the game. Generally a game designer will write a 200-300 page report on every minute detail that is to be expected in the game, and then works with the programmers and artists and level designers to make sure they understand and follow through with the plan the game designer had. There will be a small amount of artistic and programming knowledge necessary, but if you're creative but just not a brilliant artist that should be good enough. Game designer isn't at all an entry-level job, though. Most people start out with programming or art or QA for quite a few years before being promoted to game designer. A very plausible scenario would be you joining a gaming developer as a QA tester, earning a modest salary ($30,000-$40,000 USD/year). You perform well and get promoted to lead tester after a year or two. Now your salary is a bit nicer, and you most likely have a good reputation in the company if you did earn your promotion. Then after a few years or even 1, you'll most likely get a chance to work with a game designer on a game, and see what it really is like. Do well and you'll have a good chance of actually having a career in game design, with the game you work on in your resume. http://www.sloperama.com/advice/idea.htm This is an incredibly helpful website if you want to get into the game biz. It's a collection of 71 articles from a respected game designer, Tom Sloper. It's mostly geared toward game design advice, which is great in your position. Back when I was considering being a game designer I spent hours reading this website. I've since changed my future career to (hopefully) mechanical engineer, but I'm still keeping the game design door open.

Are we playing the same game? The game has far too much content at mid-level just look at all the armour choices if your defense is 40. The game needs more high-level content, of course there isn't enough. For years jagex has been catering to the mid-level player and now they are catering to the newbs. High levels got a FEW updates after months of neglect. It's not enough at all. It's traditional in this game to level up on cows, and it's cute and it earns good gp if you bank hides and the meat. The time it takes to level from combat lvl 1 to combat lvl 20 is so short that making special content just to speed that along is dubious. They are also the main reason hp was changed which affects all players gameplay. No, the main reason of the HP change was to give the game a better method of dealing HP that will allow Jagex to develop methods of preventing one-hit ko weapons. Giving newbs an easier time was just more incentive to go with the update. -

I'm surprised people are even complaining about this quest. It's fun and gives f2p more content. But the 300 QP reward I am disappointed with. The helm does look cool, but only by itself. It won't look good with anything but the quest cape, and it's completely useless too :\ -
I try to not call people stupid. That would be hypocritical. D: I prefer the term, "not taking advantage of the available intelligence contained within their minds." At least I can say I'm trying :P

I'm sure a few of us are proud to be part of the beginnings of Chatroulette :D Because it's made its way to SNL: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/clips/cnn-reports/1207094/ If you're impatient, it's within the last 30 seconds. It's incredible how fast the internet spreads. Barely a month after OT invaded chatroulette, I heard a few people from my school talking about it, and my friend mentioned accidentally running into a kid pleasing himself last week.

Err, it's spelled Falador, not Falidor. It's spelled out for you in a picture right below where you used the word as well :???: -

I don't know where the original picture is, but it's Lord Rodyle's signature on the SODB forums. I think someone else on TIF has it too, most likely him.

If I posted every drop I got like this too 99 Slayer and beyond then you would all be sick of me posting I had back to back whips 3 times, back to back bows just the once, back to back boots so many times... So yeah, it doesn't deserve it's own post imo and many others will agree just don't wanna post coz it's a mods thread amg... That opinion is exactly why this forum has never had and will never have nice things. It is an achievement in the OP's perspective and was deemed worth of posting in the OP's perspective, so it merits a thread. Whether you approve or not is irrelevant. You can post based on how you think it is worth, which in this case is obviously a low rating. Giving this a 1/10 is perfectly fine. But you are in no position to declare whether this is worth a thread or not because achievements are entirely based on perspective. Elitism =/= Coolness. :notalk: On topic: Congrats, 5/10. I don't know how rare dark bows are, but a free 3m is always nice :P

What level did you get? :S Edit: Oh wow, max total, not max combat. Very nice!!! o_o But what level did you get? :D -
Nothing really, unless you already have seconds. If you've already got 1700 granite, 1200 water orbs, and 300 fire/earth talismans, then you'll probably get to 86 or 87, with 100-200k exp from 88. But don't expect to be able to buy any of them :P
-
Nope. It's definitely worth it for lower levels, but once someone's reached the ~5m or ~10m mark they probably can make enough in an hour to nullify the efficiency of it. But I do it sometimes on slayer tasks if I've alched stuff and the monster drops coins in the >=200gp range.

Honestly, guys... He played well and it is art in his opinion. If you don't have any criticisms then why shouldn't he even be allowed to post it here? If we limit the gallery to completely visual art, then it could be emptier than it already is. Is there anyone that would seriously prefer that? Regarding considering music as art... Rachmaninov's Piano Concertos are just as much art as The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali is art, as a video of a random kid playing Back in Black on his brand new guitar is as much art as a random kid attempting to draw fat people in MSPaint. Music is art, and not the ambiguous type either.

I wouldn't say it's too great artistically, but I just love the colors! I should be recoiling in horror because of the oversaturation and the fact that you've probably included 80% of all colors ever imaginable, but I really like it actually
-
It really wasn't. But we all get that powerful nostalgia grip whenever we view old photos. Even though Runescape used to suck even more, I'd give my entire account to play for an hour of 2006-scape, with 2006-people D:

Why don't you try to find an answer by doing your own research?

It's immature, elitist, insulting, and stereotypical of a pker. No wonder it got changed. -
Spent a few mil on shards/talismans, will get me from 74 - 80 summoning. After that I'll probably just slay the rest of the time.

You'll hit 500's the same amount of times as you hit 50's before this update. People seriusly need to read the update before complaining... If you look at the topic I was generally posting during the first few pages reading everything that was coming my way that update ;) Yes, however 50 feels more of an achievement. What about Brunokiller. The highest he hit on that guy was an 83 which I still believe is in his signature. That is an ACHIEVEMENT! Something to say, "look I perfected what I could this is what I hit, I can now improve" whereas if he wanted to hit 830 he'd have gone and played WoW just like the rest of us would. Having 10X the HP and changing a skill that's been there from the beginning was a very dumb move as it annoyed not only alot of relatively new players like myself, but veterans too! The old HP system was fine the way it was. Even through Danziqmp(sp?)'s ideas on the other thread I still don't see how they couldn't have been applied to the old HP system. They just needed to separate the numbers so that when HP went down it didn't go down in your skill tab. And Brunokiller can still hit 83, except now it's displayed as 830 or possibly 835 or something similar. Adding an extra number does NOT make this WOWscape, and it does NOT completely change gameplay, and it definitely does NOT give or take any satisfaction away from hitting high. 750 is still 200% larger than 250, just as 75 was 200% bigger than 25. Plus, the possibilities of what they can now actually do with the skill are incredible, and will definitely help with combating the threat of one-hit KO weapons, and also allow them to design more complex and difficult bosses/enemies. I have yet to see a legitimate complaint against this update. The closest I've seen is people complaining that it's too different from old runescape, and while it really isn't, it's still an example of the classic perception of pleasure through nostalgia. This system is BETTER, and change CAN BE GOOD.
