  1. Oh God... In Chris Rock's speech, he says Circus O'leil NO!! It's Cirque du Soleil. CIRQUE DU SOLEIL. 4I;LAWJRL;4WGHE HRE FFJK;LBJKF;LJM,.ZX So many people make that mistake >.< The album's pretty good though. I'm not much of a fan of hip hop, because I never really listen to lyrics. But I liked a few songs.

Listened to System of 4 Down for the first time in months tod4y. Soooo much nost4lgi4! Edit: ^ :l Chains are not meant to be broken. Otherwise they wouldn't be chains.
  3. "Noob tuber" "quickscoper" "spas[bleep]" ETCETCETC I agree. This is just a pet peeve, but.. You're wrong. You're not specific enough. MULTIPLAYER gaming almost always causes these player attitudes. Single-player gaming usually doesn't. :P
  4. Actually I think I read from one of his blog posts that he really dislikes gameplay-altering mods. But he clearly likes texture packs and things like that, so I dunno :P
  5. The community isn't filled with 'trolls' now. If anything, I think there are a lot less trolls than there were 6-8 months ago. Even two years ago (the declared time this thread seems to be referring to as "the good old days") I posted a thread in rate this celebrating the fact that I FINALLY had enough money to buy an Armadyl platebody. I've loved the look of them so much since their release, and worked really hard to get the money for it. I ended up selling my entire bank for it and just BARELY had enough, but I was so happy! Yet 3/4 of the thread contained replies telling me how stupid I was for wasting my entire bank on one single item, and one that really won't help me. I think only one or two people actually got the point that I was aware of how stupid it was, but didn't care. All I cared about was how AWESOME that platebody was and that it was finally ALL MINE! Stonewall was right with his first post on this thread saying that most people look at the past with rose-tinted glasses. However Tip.it's community (at least in the General Discussion boards) has definitely changed. Now it's sort of divided between efficiency players, fun players, and the poor guys stuck in the middle. There's a constant war going on between the efficiency players and the fun players, and while there isn't necessarily any direct trolling going on, it's never a pleasant discussion. The efficiency players are always rude, impolite, and extremely elitist, but honest and not really breaking any rules. The fun players pretend to make the efficiency players feel like bullies, and the fun players act as if showing that the game's about fun and not elitism will provide some sort of justice to the community. What do I think about all this? I hate it. I've essentially left the community, checking back every couple of weeks. People get too worked up over other people's opinions. I just wish everyone would shut the [bleep] up and take a chill pill :\

I just use the clippers of my electric shaver nowadays, that way I can't be incompetent and cut myself when I'm still half asleep. I got a 100$ one for Christmas last year and it's improved my quality of life so much  How do they work? I've always been interested in getting a qood quality electric shaver. Do they cut/shave it to absolute softness like a razor can? The electric shaver my parents bought me 4 years ago is absolutely terrible, but I've heard electric shavers have improved. I still use a boring old disposable razor :(

Snow isn't that bad unless it's super-snowy. Just like driving in the rain isn't bad, and driving in a thunderstorm can be really scary. At least on the highway/interstates.
  8. Exactly. If on Nuketown your team doesn't grab the middle flag first, you probably won't win. It's too easy to hear "They're taking B!" and then toss a frag over there.
  9. Surprised no one's mentioned Bioshock yet. Great game, is an FPS with shotguns and all that, and has a level-up system like an RPG. Also has a good story like an RPG.

Generally in-state colleges are $10,000-15,000, out-of state are usually over $30,000, technical/career-specific schools tend to be around or over $30,000, and elites/ivies like Harvard and Yale and MIT (applied and visited, MIT's campus is a bit depressing but its awesomeness severely overwhelms that :P ) are about $50,000. Of course there are specific exceptions, but this tends to be relatively true on average.

Your next task: You aren't a true piano-playing Zelda fan until you can play it at triple speed :notalk:
  12. Gun game on Nuke Town is so much fun :3 The map's the perfect size for gun game.
  13. Those of you that play the game religiously have probably already seen this, but I thought this start-screen catchphrase was hilarious XD
  14. Well I finally bought this game. Problem is I haven't gotten anywhere in the Alpha version since every time I make a new world I can never find any coal ;_; Tried three different worlds so far, managed to make it to night time all three times without finding ONE coal rock. So instead I just started playing around in the creative mode. I'm making marble sculptures :3
  15. Or you can play a video game on your 360 and every so often just click on the screen of your nearby laptop. Or just do homework and occasionally click. Afkables are ridiculous. 200m in any afkable isn't a sign of anything other than that you can click the gamescreen once every couple of minutes while you do other stuff. And 200m in any other skill isn't a sign of anything other than that you can click the gamescreen at a greater frequency. The banal 'difficulty' argument regarding skills still applies to 200m exp.
  16. Bumping this thread because it's Majora's Masks's 10th Birthday today! You guys have no idea how happy of a nerd this makes me :D
  17. They can, and I did specify that. However the arguments you guys are addressing are all complaints from pre-elites (or less :P ). How often do you see other elites complaining about it? They're the only ones you're actually competing against. If you still think that stealing resources from other players and disregarding anyone's well-being other than your own is irrelevant since this is a 'competitive game', then I have no argument for you.
  18. Since you guys are too stubborn to admit that the ends don't always justify the means, you have to at least admit it's very selfish. 1) Don't try pulling the competitiveness card you guys like to rely on, because it doesn't exist. In Runescape there are the elites, the pre-elites, and the rest of the players don't matter. The elites are the level 137's and 138's with overloads, steel titans, turmoil, spirit shields, chaotic weapons, and everything that allows them to be perfect in every way. The pre-elites tend to be levels in the 120-130's with decent gear, maybe extremes, maybe a chaotic weapon, and overall great stats. However they aren't good enough to beat the elites, which are clogging the PVM culture. The pre-elites will almost never have any chance against the elites (unless they travel in packs), and thus there is no real 'competition'. It is simply the elites bullying their way into the scene and dominating. The only chance the pre-elites have is resorting to lower-leveled money making methods since all of the premier sources of income are taken by the elites, slowly working their way up to elite status themselves. The fact that more and more pre-elites become elites each week only worsens the problem. 2) You aren't helping the economy. No one gives a [bleep] about it at such a small scale.
  19. Because if I check my MTK every weekend or so, eventually I'll have enough money to get extremes :P
  20. Runescape was also on the first version of the online communities map: http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/online_communities.png Not really that fascinating IMO. I'm also sure Runescape's been briefly mentioned in another comic or two.

Good luck man. Don't worry too much about the statistics; being around the average is good enough. Your interview and essays will weigh a lot more than your grades. Your teacher recommendations are also very important, but I'm sure they would be very understanding of your situation if you specify that; they have room on the application just for situations like yours. And one thing most people miss with MIT is that they require two SAT subject tests: one in math, and one in science. lolstanford, and good luck with MIT :D
  22. @Demoli: Yup, already played it. See paragraph 3 of the Paper Mario section for my opinions :P @Mask and Nom: FE7 was actually the first Fire Emblem game I played, and it was more challenging. However I really liked the addition of monsters and the class choosing in SS and thought it was overall more fun. I've only played through the Gamecube and Wii games once each; borrowed them from a friend. Wasn't too impressed by them for some reason.
