There should be a second, if not a third f2p world for GOP - and in all likelihood, the same for p2p GOP (I can't say, I'm pure f2p). I trust that this picture shows you why.

Wakka's Mousekeys Guide! LEARN TO DROP TWICE AS FAST!
AgingMiser replied to wakka102's topic in Archive of Wisdom
Did you check the box that says Ctrl to speed up & Shift to slow down? @Yuyu: Mousekeys is absurdly inefficient on laptops without number keys, because generally you need to hold the [Fn] key down in conjunction with NumLock to use the number pad; your best option for this would be getting an external number pad, which you can connect to your laptop via USB. -
The Ultimate Guide to F2P Banking **Updated July 10th**
AgingMiser replied to Sinkhan's topic in General Guides
The sets idea only really works if you don't PvP a lot lolz. If you skill/PvP (I'm afraid to say that with the onset of the school year, I've ditched skills to semi-AFK range - do HW while leaving RS open and clicking when I should and pk when I can). Here's my bank (quantities have been censored out so you don't see how poor I really am): I have duplicates of just about everything in there, as placeholders. Because I frequently have to pull out armor, keeping them in sets would be simply impractical. The anti fire shield is for rune mining - and yes, it does help. I trust we can all see the organization in it :D -
I'm not totally sure about this, but I believe that - don't hesitate to correct me - that xp rates at Avs are ~30k xp/hr, so yes, playing 2-3 hours daily for 2 weeks or so would get you 80 ranged. Armoured zombies are definitely better xp - slayer has overall more benefit, but the xp rate is lower. I can't comment on ranging slayer tasks for obvious reasons. Hope I helped.

Wearable skill capes in F2P ~ 90 supporters ~
AgingMiser replied to Crimsoncow42's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
100% support, though I'm pure f2p :D . I have tons of friends that decide to stop paying for p2p simply because they don't have the time, not to mention that getting p2p back, even after paying takes some time. Add me to RSOF too, I'm too lazy to go there and post myself. -
If I was you, I'd FoG to 43 mage, then superheat to 55 mage. In p2p, range tanks are definitely worth it. In f2p, stop at 40 def - 45 def if you want to be able to use the zerker shield.

Plank make/string amulet? I'm just suggesting popular common p2p methods.

Rune Scimitar or Rune 2h better for training?
AgingMiser replied to NotoriousPSC's topic in Help and Advice
You're either blind or you're hallucinating. When I pot up, I only max perhaps 21 with baxe, ignoring the str prayer. -
~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]
AgingMiser replied to bongo_man's topic in General Guides
Range tanks focus on primarily range (so that they can hold their own in fights) and def (so their opponent's don't hit). The build for the lowest cmb of a maxed range tank is 50-99-99, 99 range, mage, def, hp, 70 pray, or something like that. I believe that most range tanks will max with 60 att, for dragon weaps (claws and dds's are much more efficient than obby mauls, aren't they?). As you should be able to tell from my signature, my build is somewhat of a range tank, though obviously I'm not maxed (although I do aim to be :D). As for how they fare, it depends on in what context. As for clan PKing, let's just say I've tanked in robes. No prayer. (Try SK when they're massing.) It's quite amusing, really. One time CT massed and came to fally. I decided to have fun with them, and kept tanking them. Granted, in the end they did manage to kill me, but only because of two reasons: 1) their mages got lucky as [cabbage] and 2) lag fails, big time. EVERYONE was spamming "omfg bind" "sum1 bind" "omg". One of my funniest RS experiences ever, and it was well worth it. (Let's just say 92 mage + full tank makes it pretty hard to hit binds). Solo PK, I stick to the classic PK credo that arm fights fail. It's pointless, because let's face it - anyone that refuses to noarm almost always safes when in arm, and even if they do - what are your chances of 20ing them, right after getting them down to that little hp? In noarms, I can hold my own fairly well (heck, I 16-16-16-16 ko'd earlier today lmfao, 3 arrows - baxe), but that's mostly because I noarm at the GE and Edgeville. I've noticed that def tends to reduce my opponent's chances of koing - they redbar me like 10 times before koing me. I'll say this - if you become a range tank, the stat you're sacrificing is attack (keep it low; it should preferably be 60 when you max, especially in f2p), much like zerker pures sacrifice def. I can't comment on p2p range tanks, but that's what I can say about f2p range tanks. Also, I know I make it sound awesome, but for a range tank to effectively BH, you'd have to be maxed. And even now, when people go "omfg wtf is ur def?!@#" and I respond "My Defence level is 80." half of them book it to the safe zone. Fighting at stacking distance is also EXTREMELY difficult, because if you are, you're fighting another ranger, who is also capable of stacking. Furthermore, if you're the one that moves 2 squares away, then it's a simple matter for them to hit 14, then pull 2h and ko you. Only do this if both you and your opponent have just 2h'd each other, you can click fast and accurately, and you don't lag. Oh, the drop system was also discreetly updated - ~65% of your drop depends on what your opponent was carrying, ~35% is randomized based on how much you've lost since your last kill, EP, and the discrepancy in you and your opponent's cmb levels. Also, some ideas for the PK dictionary - perhaps clan names? E.g. Scaprslayer members call Pr _____ to indicate a pile, The Last Pures call Tlp _____, etc. You may also want to include location abbreviations, FoG refers to Fist of Guthix, BH refers to the Wilderness volcano bank, Vc refers to Varrock church, Cd refers to the wildy chaos dwarves, etc. -

22k-25k xp/hr @ fleshies given 79-84 ranged & bronze arrows; one inv of wines lasts me 2 hours, so give or take if you're lower def. ~1300 arrows/hr powering. Have yet to check for the 85-90 range. For those that are wondering about the seemingly arbitrary level range, I'll explain quickly. Max hit with range in f2p is directly correlated to your range lv & arrow type. Max hit increases by 1 from bronze, iron, steel, mithril, to adamant. New max hits are incurred by the following range levels: 67(?), 73(?), 79, 85, 91, 96. I'm not positive about 67 and 73, but I can attest to the last 4. Note that these levels define max hit on rapid. Accurate is one to two levels below.

If you're willing to, there's also external USB numpads that you can purchase. Not sure whether mousekeys would function on them though.

I don't believe it's possible to set it so that only certain cells can be edited, as the entire spreadsheet is one individual file. Alternatively, you could set up an invite list in your clan, and set up a clan copy for them to use. Under the Share menu, go to Invite people, and only place people on the in-clan list on that invite list.

world offline, account still connected?
AgingMiser replied to skylor12344's topic in Help and Advice
It's issues with the server connections, nothing to worry about :) -
The general formula used is x1.33, but I prefer to simply divide all combat xp gained via combat (i.e. excluding lamps, mage xp through alchs, etc) by 3.

The Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide - UPDATED
AgingMiser replied to unorclan's topic in Archive of Wisdom
You should update the part about worlds to play FoG on. FoG can start with only 2 people in the waiting chamber, so a world with ~20 people there will work fine. -
Near impossible wut. It's just insanely boring :P If you have the stats for it, you can noarm. Clan pking with a group like scaprslayer is always an option too.

Currently @ ~2.5m range xp, my goal being 99 range, which leaves me with 10.5m range xp to go. I'm powering bronze arrows at SOS fleshies to reach this goal. Assuming a rate of 25k xp/hr & 1k bronzes/hr, it'll take me 400k-500k bronzes to reach 99 range, but this figure seems a bit low to me. For those that have done this (or anyone that knows a good amount of info about this method) does the 400k-500k arrow figure seem accurate?

Isn't that the goblin in the Port Sarim jail?

Someone of the ankou safespots may have changed, and I've heard that some of the minotaurs are moving around the fence that you safespot them from :| It would be nice if you could post some approximate xp rates though :| Trying to calc how many bronzes 99 range will cost me powering fleshies... I'm guessing 400k-500k, basing that on 1k bronzes powered/hr + it's around 400-450 hours of powering bronzes to 99 range for me (10.6mish xp left, estimated xp rate of 25k xp/hr says it'll be 424 hours) - but for some reason I think that's a bit low.

F2P Melee Training Highest XP per hour????
AgingMiser replied to aceofweed's topic in Help and Advice
Expect 30k-35k+ xp/hr. As for str pots, 2-3 an inv, depends on how long you can camp there with one inv. -
You should update the screenies, but overall

And the white square is you ;) (red dots are items on the floor)

After the initial update, before the latest batch of updates to fix all the glitches that came with the update, I could easily run standard detail on resizable with no lag if I kept the ground blending off. Now I lag so much on resizable even with all the graphics options set to the lowest ones possible that turning ground blending on doesn't even matter, because it's so slow to begin with. Wtf happened in the glitch repair updates that made it more laggy.

~Range 2H F2P PKing Guide~ [Update(s): Feb. 21st, 2011]
AgingMiser replied to bongo_man's topic in General Guides
The extreme unlikeliness of that happening is what would make eating at 23 HP (in that hypothetical situation) safing; thought it's possible, it's just not likely to happen, and to assume that by eating at 23 HP would be safing. As for the quick release for a range 2H attack, even the average PKer will be able to eat after the arrow hits before they pull out the 2H- there's enough time to react to the hit. Assuming we're talking about high levels (80+ strength/range), it's true most do keep their HP over 20 but that's because hits with scim are 21-25, meaning the amount of HP that is considered adequate will raise. Although most still follow the double-eat rule after a hit from a 2H, and their HP will only be around 25-34 at most. While that is true, that doesn't change the fact that stacking is possible in f2p. Hence, the theoretical max that an f2p range-dbaxe'er (corrupt) can hit is 54, 18-36 ;) although it takes forever to learn how to do the prayer switch & k0 weap switch fast enough to stack  On-topic, include the range prayer -> str prayer switch in your guide (can be done with right-clicking str prayer, then using f1 to swap to inv, or quick-prayers). Haha I forgot about corrupt items, I spend the majority of my time in BH worlds so it's rare to see any corrupt item there. I guess it comes down to who's willing to take the risk and considers the possibilities of a max-stack-hit, because the fight would never progress if people used the fact of stacking as their argument for eating at 40HP. I did consider putting that in my guide, but my lack of experience with that particular skill made me decide against it. However, I'm going to experiment with one of my PKer's who does have 44 Prayer and see if I can figure out some tricks ;) If there's anything you or anyone else would like to contribute to this newly developped section I'd greatly appreciate it (and of course you'll get quoted and special thanks :D )! Of course, that's true (and the chances of hitting anything above 30, even if you do have a corr dba are still absurdly low) but it doesn't change the fact that it's still technically possible. Also, the theory behind stacking says that you should have 2 spaces between you and your opponent. The moment after the animation shows the arrow leaving your bow, swap to the finisher and attack your target. To include the prayer switch, most people right-click the strength prayer to keep the menu open, then f1 to the inventory. Alternatively, you can set the quick prayer to Ultimate Strength and rapidly click quick prayers, your finisher, then your opponent.
