Out of Touch
Babe Ruth had more strike outs than anybody - what a loser. Michael Jordon, that no talent hack has missed 15000 shots in professional games - obviously his career went no where. The "Get it right the first time" mentality sounds good, but leads to you doing nothing out of fear of failing. By going out there and be willing to mess up, you are willing to do more that leads to success. I for one am glad Jagex is willing to release content on almost a weekly basis. Yeah, they drop duds and bugs, but along with that comes content that's entertaining hundreds of thousands on a weekly basis. There's merit in cheap and quick. Plus, they're not failing and saying "so what", they QA, release, then tweek/repair as needed. This creates a determined study approach to game development that guys like Blizzard are just not able to touch. Instead of waiting 2 years for an 20 million dollar "uber" release that could eventually get canceled, we get cheap entertainment at a high turnover. Take your pick, or take both. +1 Honestly if you can create a game as complicated as RS and with as many updates as they have without a single bug or glitch out of those updates then props to you. Lets see you do it. And really, most of these bug and glitches they can't find until it's actually released because most of them are hidden. Like the Jad glitch hitting through prayer, who would have found that until it was released? Like Andrew said in the answers he gave, they have to test their updates through so many computers, browsers Etc. It's almost impossible for them to actually have an update and be able to figure out all the possible bugs and glitches within that update. [/hide] I agree with you guys, you can't have anything good without risk of failing. BUT, on the other hand, this is something I PAY FOR. Shouldn't the service we get be just a bit better? But they do say "so what". Mobolizing Armies release a player lost 150M to a glitch by just logging out (was it 150 or a bigger sum? I honestly can't remember, but it was a lot of money). They apologize to him but don't return the money. Don't tell me Blizzard can't compete with that because Blizzard actually returns items due to glitches or hacking. My friend has been hacked multiple times in WoW and his items were replaced very quickly. I'm not going to go on a WoW rant here but I did buy the game because 1) the game is based around high level content and 2) their customer support is excellent. Everything Runescape is lacking for me right now. I understand that they can't catch every glitch, it's nearly impossible. But things like the MA glitch and the day when GWD bosses and other large monsters wouldn't attack back are simply unacceptable to me. They try hard but nobody can deny that things like PvP have been "guess and check" updates, and still are. If they had got PvP right the first time, we could have had more quests or anything else that freed up devolopment time. I would rather wait 3 months for several great, thoroughly tested updates than have them on a weekly basis and see changes being made to them over the next few weeks or read more about the game breaking glitches than the actual updates on the forums. Agree with you here. WoW customer support was amazing, you lose your stuff? Have it back. You're a high level? Have all this phree st00f in the way of content, be happy. Jagex fail here. They need better customer support (one office in Cambridge, or two idk, with 20-odd customer support team isn't enough) and more high level content. A lot of the bugs that pass through are little ones that can be fixed shortly, but they take a while to fix them. And bigger ones are disgraceful tbh. And waiting 3 months for something huge would be great

The great year of upgrades, then why does this new one suck!
I've been experiencing bad lagg. I'm gonna switch to standard detail for now, then when things settle down/lagg goes away I'll use it again. It is pretty cool though. Digging the water effects \

f2p need adjusting!
leik cmon?!!2!2!!11@!!1@1!??>?K?? Dey iz gettin raiped by jagex caus no updaets. Geiv mai de gaem 4 free pl0x. [/noobishness] Dude, get over it. You don't pay, so you can't expect updates that often. You'll get the occasional one, but don't expect weekly (I'd say one every 2-3 months would be fair).

Jagex is [cabbage]?!
I'm thankful for my mother having a miscarriage with her first child, as my parents only wanted one. I can't think of a smily that describes the unabashed selfishness I just displayed there.... OT: I think the updates were decent. But, to be honest, I play so slowly through the game, that if the game were to stop updating tomorrow, I'd probably still have about ten years of playtime ahead of me. Anyways, I avoid new things like the plague, not because of glitches, but because the crowds get annoying. that sounded really bad, but at the same time  @ the smiley remark. Sometimes Jagex screw their own game. Pfft, we can rant. It's like getting pissed off at your parents for grounding you, they screwed you over. But they usually right the wrongs, and if they dont right a wrong that is a wrong in your eyes, it measn its right. Right?

Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape
I think you have the definition of least-admirable mixed up. Least-Admirable (adj) (leest-ad-mur-a-bull) - being non-honorable; not praise-worthy; having the quality of Multi-Taskery embued in it's fabrics. ex) You are the least-admirable cook I've seen; you steal everyone elses' recipes and claim them for yourself! See? I hope that cleared it up. Fishing and Woodcutting actually take time and dedication to do. You cannot buy those. Think of it this way: There are Supply-Skills,Supplied-Skills, and Independent Skills. Supply Skills are skills that make the resources for the Supplied-Skills. These skills are: Fishing Woodcutting Mining Runecrafting Hunting Supplied Skills are skills that get resources from other skills. These skills are: Smithing Cooking Fletching Firemaking Herblore Crafting Farming Magic Range Independent Skills are skills that you don't use other skills to directly gain experience in that skill. These skills are: Agility Construction Attack Strength Defense Hitpoints Thieving Slayer Think of it as primary, secondary and tertiary skills. Primary are gathering skills, secondary are production skills and tertiary are basically those skills which are not dependant on other materials/items/other players, except for the occasional potion or two :)

Dragon KiteShield vs DFS - Do we need it at all?
I hate dragon armour now, can't wait to switch to better gear when I get higher combat stats/more $$$. So, the only dragon item that will be of any use once it's released is the dragon pickaxe. Kiteshield will just complete set of armour that used to be regarded as the best in the game, but is just a waste of money now. gf Jagex :wall:

Nooby Question
Hill Giants are shocking cash, because they are always crowded no matter what world you go on. I definitely suggest cows, or go to felsh crawlers as long as you can fly-fish trout/salmon, so you can just camp there, pick up the gem drops, etc. I also suggest cockroach drones. I made about 100K there on my noob account by training until 40 att/str/def at your stats. You will require a bit of food though and th best gear you can wear.
-
35m...need help spending it
I'd say unless you really enjoy a skill, don't waste ALL your cash on it; instead, buy something like gear that will make you money back, reach your money goal (by barrowing, like you mentioned above), then sell back your gear and use the money as you please. Investing in items/skills that make you money in the long-term is definitely suggested, because you will have more cash later down the track :)

Tip.It Times: 30 Aug 2009
I was  at the first article for quite a while. Great job skippy =D> The second one is definitely a serious matter, because I can relate. When I was in year 7 (first year of high school in Australia) and went on a 1-week holiday to the Blue Mountains, with no internet connection, I nearly went insane. All I wanted to do was get back to runescape. I even printed off 200+ pages of moneymaking guides, skilling guides, and runescape articles for the trip so I wouldn't get bored. Yes it was that bad. My grades were terrible back then, all B's and C's and D's even. I quit for a while, and started again in late 2008. By then I had come to terms with the problem I had and was a bit hesitant to start again, but I've been fine ever since. Addiction is a scary thing, but once you defeat it you feel heaps better

Easier to get your first 99 then your second and so on?
I am finding it easy with woodcutting so far after getting 99 fletching. In fact, it's safe to say that I'm finding woodcutting much easier than fletching was.

The only problem with that timer system on the alter is say that you're soloing and, as so often happens, some noob comes along to crash/leech/whatever. Now he's just doubled your prayer restore time without actually aiding you in any way. There is always gonna be a problem when trying to add stuff. While I agree with Orioles I think it's not to much of a problem. To even get to this point you'll need to have done both quest. You can't be that much of a noob to done both quest and then just sit and leech. Since the quest is probably geared to level 80 and above F2P (rough guess) my guess is this place will be cworded already if it catches on and 9 out of 10 players would come here to get the drops. Just make her aggressive so when a player does come in they will get attacked so no one can really come in a leech. Also players have a way of getting other players to leave, I've seen it so I think this works fine. The quest, although the requirements are minimal, is geared to 90+ players, but even they will have a hard time getting through the quest because of the two quest bosses you fight at the end. I knew there would be a problem with leechers, so I made the range attack hit all players in the room (because of the whirlwind attack, it can spread so it will hit all players). This makes it unavoidable to take damage. And because of the higher levelled requirements it stops people from just leeching and waiting for drops, etc. And I will add a note under the statistics so people know she is aggressive to the first player who enters :)

Torso or not?
Bandos chestplate over torso anytime. I got a torso and regret it all the time, because I no-lifed getting it because it was overhyped and then found it was extremely bad. Horrible defence and a +1 strength bonus just aint worth all the hours you have to put in for it. But if you like BA, then go for it.
