  1. Ignore foursideking's advice, it's ridiculous. Aeil knows his stuff though :). The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets): [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip) Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top) [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3 Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune) Dragon boots (rune boots) Amulet of fury (glory) Dragon defender (rune defender) Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring) [Most important] Full slayer helmet. [For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps) [Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear) [stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword) Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimes Cannon (optional, up to personal preference) Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +15 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +25 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, black dragon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and abberant spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning): 68 summoning - bunyip 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split 88 summoning - unicorn 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload 99 summoning - steel titan I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it.
  2. Quite frankly your prayer level is too low. Not that you won't be able to dungeoneer or anything, but at your stats you really need piety (if not turmoil) to be on par with people around your combat level.
  3. Witchdoctor top & legs, ardougne cape 3, boots of lightness, combat bracelet, skills necklace, elite seer's headband, secateurs, falador shield 3, lumbridge ring 4. Always ready for a farm run :shades:. I used vyrewatch top, shade robe bottoms, red boots and gloves, red soul wars cape and fury with a slayer's staff as well. I also like my default clothes (black) with an ardougne cape 3, deflector, EEE, seer's headband 4, gloves of silence. I use that when pyramid plundering (though the gloves don't actually work).
  4. No need to keep withdrawing tabs, they stack after all. You can also use a law staff + smoke runes or just burn 25 logs per run if you can't be bothered buying tabs. I think other teleports may work as well (Camelot?).
  5. Eh - do the puzzle. If you need 200k, try men or chaos druids for herbs.
  6. Well they are, at higher levels. But of course since prot mage isn't viable and defence versus magic doesn't help anyway, you might as well wear ranged defence.
  7. The magic attacks are 100% accurate. He can't survive without protect from melee - Bork hits too well. The orks use ranged. Using melee gear ensures protection from them.
  8. Replace tabs with skills necklace and combat bracelet + camelot runes (cheaper & magic xp). Quit farming watermelon and do snapdragon herbs. This will remove the need for the watering can also. You don't need plant cure or cash either. To do a normal farm run: teleport to trollheim, walk to the patch, drink one dose of juju, pick, compost, plant, use your ectophial, run west cleaning your herbs (if you care to), note at the leprechaun, pick patch, compost, plant, use cabbageport, run north cleaning herbs again, work the patch, use your skills necklace or combat bracelet (fishing and ranging guild teleports respectively), run east or south depending on tele, work patch, teleport to camelot, run east, work patch.
  9. A knife? I'd go for using the lunar spell humidify or wearing an Enchanted water tiara. Super set and piety are rather unnecessary as these are rather weak, but I suppose it speeds things up some.. Although it might make picking up drops a problem. These creatures drop many things worth picking up, so I do wonder where you get your inventory space from. xD To answer the original question; I'd definetly say this task is worth it. Not the best xp, but decent drops and unlike Quyneax I did get a few nice elites. > Enchanted water tiara means giving up full slayer helmet. > That a monster is weak has nothing to do with the usage of pots/prayer. Only spawn rate and life point total (if very low) are relevant to this.
  10. Farm more ;). I can't predict prices but I second what Zaaps said, don't use soul split alone for melee. However for solo arma you can use it (leech defence and ranged), for corp as stunner (full leech), and for Nex too (not sure but it'd be like corp). I also liked it when slaying wyverns, leech defence + soul split.
  11. I blocked these as they have very bad charm drops and I don't care for money at all. I did get an elite from the one task I did - it was rubbish.
  12. Quyneax replied to Purplez's topic in Help and Advice
Get dungeoneering up for sure, at your stats the chaos druid resource dungeon is some decent gp. It also helps to have at least a bit of a level when spending xp lamps/tears/pengs. Get all quests done, get all stats to 30, do all quests again, get all stats to 40 etcetera.
  13. Barrowing is good, farming is good, MTK is good. I'd get 70 prayer and 65 herblore then get a quest cape (regardless of your opinions on questing, it's far too useful).
  14. You also need to repeat it for every dungeoneering level after the 99th - 100 dg will trim 99 (easiest trimmed cape in the game eh?).
  15. Today was a good day: [hide] [/hide] First farming level in a while. I've not grown anything but torstol since level 85 :D. [hide] [/hide] Out of charms now :(. [hide] [/hide] I got my highest stat up, so it seemed only right to get this on my lowest level.
  16. It's well known that magic is very important in magic defence - in fact it's the reason 90+ magic is recommended for all sorts of bosshunting.
  17. Let's say the chances of crafting double natures at level 90 is 99%. You now have a .99^26 = .77 chance to finish the task. The actual rate is more like 90% or lower I think, which gives you a .06 chance to finish it MAXIMUM. I'm afraid you'll just have to get the level (with a +5 stew).
  18. Congratulations :).
  19. Don't use the tactician ring - not only does it suffer from diminishing returns on lower defence, no weapon has two accurate stances. The ability to use multiple styles with class rings is a big reason to take a rapier/battleaxe/twohander instead of any other.
  20. Defence pures are actually really good at pking - bone dagger > dfs is lethal to obby maulers (one defence one attack, good fight versus 75 defence and 250 crush defence). A summoning tank is even stronger.
  21. I used whip - verac skirt/prossy top. Defender etc, piety, prot range. I took quite a lot of damage, had to bring food. They are quite good to cannon also. Those were my first powerslaying task - treat them well :).
  22. You have an attack roll versus a defence roll - the higher one wins (e.g. higher attack roll is a hit). In the formula for max attack/defence roll, effective level and equipment bonus are multiplied (with some other things).
  23. Well actually there are a lot of these items but they are usually buyable in quantities of 100/4 hrs - try rune full helmets, chainbodies, longswords and dragon spears and shield halves. Battlestaves are also quite good, as are some summoning pouches.
  24. Nice hat :P. Other than that I can see a bunch of items you could sell for turmoil/extremes :P. But a very nice bank, good stats. Work on dg a bit.
  25. Try void if you have it. I'd seriously consider simply waiting until turmoil also. But yes soul split + leeches may beat piety here because you are using quite a lot of restores anyway (= enough prayer). You'd want to use leech magic/attack/defence/strength which drains about 4 points/3 seconds (soul split adding another 1.5 for 5.5/3 seconds before prayer bonus).
