  1. I really don't see anything drastic to the economy if the crashers hopped instead of making someone else hop. If a level 3 takes up a Green Dragon Spawn at Chaos Tunnels, assuming no one else is there but you and the level 3, would you crash the level 3? The level 3's presence would actually slow the inflow of raw materials for the economy if you don't crash him, because he's killing the Green Dragon slower than anyone else that could crash him. And usually, if the someone else hops and cannot find a world to obtain said raw material, they usually switch to something else. And don't tell me this is unethical/immoral. Competition in a competitive game is normal, and not "bad". Why would a level 3 be killing Green Dragons? You're missing the point. The character is level 3 because it more easily demonstrates what I'm trying to get at. People slow at killing things would slow down the inflows of raw materials, hence less items for the Economy (compared to crashing the slower player).

  3. I completely agree with this. There is only a few people that actually help people in help and advice. I'd say Quyneax and bladewing are definitely in that list. If it's not obvious enough, I'll just have to spell it out to the OP; You can't boss with your current stats. Especially not Bandos. Get a berserker ring, get Piety, get a Bunyip, and THEN consider spending money on other gear. Get an SS if you want to train Str, or Chaotic Rapier if you have the time to dungeoneer.
  4. 60 minutes from kick, or until the channel is cleared of users. Until the owner takes you off ignore list for CC BAN
  5. Only if there is a free world. Graardor wouldn't be a good example of that. Or loot share worlds. The level 120 not killing Graardor at all is actually most beneficial to the Economy. We are assuming he's using a Godsword, so he's not really going to make kills that much faster. And most of the time between kills is because of the respawn rate, not the kill rate. Also, the level 120 with a Godsword would be draining resources from the Economy in the form of food and potions, hence you are wrong. We need a better example. EDIT - What are we talking about here? The whole Economy, or you?
  6. Not quite sure what you are saying but i just reached 2m, i have found some good items so i'm progressing very quickly, i will post my cash pile once i stock none of the items. I was just saying, you could be using the GE on other accounts to watch when GE updates, and you could use the RuneScape game bar to see when your offers have completed, without adding any ingame time checking. Are you members by any chance? I'm pretty sure it's easier to do things as a member. Goodluck on your goal Yeah now i get you, but i bulk buy items that i flip such as food etc so it always updates but it doesn't mean my offer is completed, or does the game bar work different to that? i don't actually use one. My main is a member but this account isn't to add to the challenge. The RuneScape Game Bar tells you how much of every offer has sold. If 40/1000 of your Raw Monkfish has sold, it would say 4%. It updates 10 minutes later than actual ingame offer updates, but it's still quite useful.
  7. You forgot to account for the extra drain on resources for killing Graardor if trying to FFA, and failing due to level difference.
  8. Heh. Bandwidth is only part of the story. I find it annoying to do anything on my College internet when 50 people is using the same access point. Still get the 100mb/s broadband, but I get 2000+ ping. Now, that's annoying.
  9. Thanks for summarizing my posts. I'm sorry if I don't agree with the ideal of making other people's experience less enjoyable when possible for the sake of my own gain. Regardless of the reason, I still think you're an Ass when you crash were it isn't needed. I'm not denying that you are being an ass if you crash, rather that it's justified if it saves time(and there are alot of situations where it doesn't) and the fact that there is no guarantee the person will not do the same to you. If i get guaranteed not to be crashed while training slayer(both nonmulty and multy) i'd never want to crash anyone, but since everyone is being an ass anyway(and particularly the low levels in nonmulty), why bother. Well, I think Crashing makes a healthy RuneScape economy. The Social Cost (cost for the whole economy) of crashing is tiny, economically. One person gets less Xp/h, or obtains less raw materials per time. However, in the sense of obtaining goods, the Social Benefit would be more efficient use of a spot, therefore more raw materials available for the Economy than not crashing the spot. I think the Social Benefits would outweigh the Social Costs, and therefore crashing = good. Someone prove me wrong.
  10. Lol. Kashi, do you even know how Claws work, or why people use ZS at Corp?
  11. KS spec is better for 1v1 safe pvp. Irrelevant. Dragon Claws are much better in most situations, because they have the ability to special attack twice in a row. It's interesting to note that with a Deflector and Barrow Gloves in void, SS and Korasi setups have the same str/att bonuses.
  12. Somehow, I thought an old TipIt Times article was recent, the last post was on the 15th of August :x http://tip.it/runescape/?times=470. Wrote a pretty long reply, so I'd paste the thing here. Not sure about relevance, but they seem to be somewhat connected; Someone make an article called "Common Misconceptions/Contrary to popular belief" or something. All I see is arguing over the very basic terms on RS. "Grinding", "Efficiency", "Fun", "Lazy", "Boring", "Objective", "Subjective" and "Achievement"; these terms are being thrown around without full understanding of the meanings of these words, or taken out of context to suit arguments in a fallacious way. Some claim that "Training efficiently is boring, play your own game", or assert that "DIY is better than trading, because trading is a lazy way of obtaining materials".
  13. [hide] Please bring me on a tds trip. You have ridiculous luck. [/hide] So, what's better money, Frosties or Tds with Titan?
  14. I hate you for the sole and special reason for being dropped on the head when you were a toddler
  15. you do realize that melee beats range, range beats mage and mage beats melee :wall: though I do agree with your point about the combat triangle not being needed unless you mean the > symbols as an arrow, then I'm the idiot. > means greater than... Melee is greater than range Range is greater than mage mage is greater than melee He did it right. but the core idea of melee-->range-->mage-->melee does not work very well now we can all be happy :P i would just like to mention, im not totaly with the idea of "no combat triangle", but i think it will grately help balance. both for now and future updates. even with the triangle staying where it is, each class is still to difrent for it to work. think about it melee: short range high and fast hits with few, but strong, side efects (special attack, poison etc) range: long range low/medium hits at medium speed(darts/knives are more of a training weapon then pvm/pvp) with very high accuracy, with fery few side efects (besdies bolt's) requires your armour to be range based as your attack power comes mostly from your armour, not you weapon. mage: exspensive long range with low hits at medium speed, comon and strong side efects (ICE BARRAGE! RAWR! ). requires low defence to be accurate. now thay all have things in comon, but man do thay have there Differences. its hard to balance the 3 styles when there so totaly difrent. in short: combat trianlge, not needed. combat classes, to hard to get right in there curent setup. When you're talking about balancing the combat triangle, it really depends on what context. If you're talking about PvP, that would require alot of balancing, and any further updates can ruin the balance pretty easily, because it would almost always be in favour of one style more than the others. I do agree that there isn't that much point in creating a perfect balance.
  16. RAGE IRL. The food/canteen section of the College is being redone, and all I can hear whilst typing is the sound of drilling. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
  17. that would only piss me off.. lol He's just bragging, don't worry about that. I think lips aren't mentioned enough though. Really hawt chicks usually have medium breasts, hawt eyes and silky hair, and small lips. Hmm
  18. As long as the average 'wage' goes up at the same rate, there isn't that much of a problem. And before people argue about things tied with alchemy; It never was good money. Stop dreaming. Never? then why (as I described in the first couple of paragraphs of my article) was like 90%* of runescape doing that at the time? :D In response to the recent development: Efficiency in RS means: To get as much money for as little time spent, or, to get as much XP with as little money or time spent... And I think lazy means in RS: The fact that you can't be arsed to do it all of it yourself... But face it; if we had to do everything ourselves, other players would be no different to us than NPC's, and this would become a RPG (or even an FPS) rather than an MMORPG (a direction which we're heading to anyway, it seems)... *90% is a guesstimate and may not be used for statistical purposes other than to exaggerate ones point... Okay, 'never' is a little too far. But the point still stands, it wasn't good money for a long time anyway.

  20. Crashing = Efficient, and fun as hell. Doesn't break the rules, so what can you do?
  21. "efficiency = laziness" looks like rationalization to me It is. But it could be somewhat true. Although, it does require some defining of the words 'lazy' and 'efficiency'
  22. Why are you asking us? Try it, every non +1 world are filled with Korasi Sworders.
  23. On Topic; There are very fine lines between Flaming, Trolling and being a general idiot. I think albeit TIF has gotten more controversial topics, there are more intelligent discussions about things too. I can easily find a topic a few years ago that is basically an OP saying something stupid and people blindly agreeing with the OP or flaming him like hell. I dunno, the Questionnaires sub-forum really makes General Discussion less noob-friendly.
  24. Okay? You still haven't explained why it is lazy though. And I refuse to acknowledge anything you say until you give me a 5000 word paragraph on the meanings of lazy, economy, RuneScape, and few. You can prove it to yourself. Think about those skills you've trained/intend to train, the armour you've bought/intend to buy and all those other goodies you buy in. All those times you've thought "I'll buy those in". Why did you do this? You couldn't be bothered to get them could you? The proof is being honest with yourself. Guilty as charged myself sometimes. I just bought 20k rune ess that I couldn't be bothered to mine so I'm proof of this too. I've bought armour sets, weapons and all sorts through RS as rather than get them myself I decided to be lazy and buy them. I'm honest with myself about it. Many of those who go to barrows, go for dbone drops, sigils, mine ore/ess etc. etc. etc. (enough etc. for around 4970 words) all rely on the demand by players who won't get those themselves. Laziness keeps the 'economy' going but if everyone decided to get their own items then there wouldn't be much left of this economy. So basically what you're saying is, no matter what situation, the person buying an item is always 'lazy'? You should understand that it's impossible to obtain many items without the levels to make it. If you don't understand that, stop posting. I agree to some extent laziness is what keeps Flippers profitting, but the whole Economy doesn't revolve around people being 'lazy'. In fact, items from shops are sometimes the only obtainable method to get said item, and shops are part of the 'Whole Economy'. You lost.
  25. I think it wouldn't be cheating if you were to watch GE offers on other accounts, and use the RuneScape game bar to help you too. Hmmm...
