Botting in Runescape
usually those ads are reflected upon what the user browses on their internet. so you must have been on a cheating website. That seems like an unjustified allegation - even by going on RuneScape related websites (ie tip.it), adverts related to cheating would still find their way to the adverts banners on your browser.

Botting in Runescape
It would be very easy for the users to adjust - it may not be worthwhile. I guess there could be a text input limit so that only characters typed in less than 'x' wpm would be registered. Hmmph, every solution has a workaround. This is more difficult than I thought.

RuneVillage - Removed as gold status because owner is a sex offender
The problem with sex offenders is the strong motive and ease of access - it's not a matter of 'if', it's a matter of 'when'. A convicted rapist wouldn't have much more to lose to reoffend. Also, the prolific nature of committing sex related offenses means that it's very difficult to gauge when they no longer pose a risk to society. Perhaps when society changes their views regarding these offenders, that things will change. For now, it'll remain the same.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Whoa... are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Ambiguous advice. It reminds me of George Bush's speeches regarding the 'war on terror'.

Look at all them attempts to hack my pro account!
Opening an email won't get you a virus unless you open the attachment. This is true. I am not aware of any possible way that an virus can infect your computer simply by opening an email, given that you're using a reasonably up to date email program/browser and OS. It's the attachments and downloads that you need to be worried about. It used to ring true when most people didn't use web based email services - back in the days when people used Microsoft Outlook, it would pre-load everything when you opened it up, and thus 'opening emails' could be rather dangerous. Nowadays, emails tend to disable remote images and disallows automatic attachment downloads.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
I find American/Canadian accents pretty awesome, which is weird as I've lived in England for so damn long. Is this normal?

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
What about when it's in the form of a juicy burger? OT: The combination of hunger and sleep deprivation. Why do I have to come into College dammit?!

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Whoa, online job applications have mandatory personality tests for all potential employees? Is that even necessary? I guess that would somewhat negate my chances as I prove to be rather cynical, even in personality tests ('dominant introvert, critic more than creator')

Political Poll
My personal involvement in politics is minimal - I'm not of the age of maturity, so I can't vote (yet). Voting purely on the basis of self interest would seem irrational for the greater good of society - in order to benefit oneself, it may require others to suffer. As I live in the UK, the most relevant parties would be the Liberal Democrats, the Labour Party, and the Conservative Party. I choose not to affiliate with any as many of their proposed policies are rather irrational (underfunding the fundamental backbone of the economy, namely education, as opposed to over-bloating into great amounts of debt). I do feel that the Conservative party has rather negative qualities about them - arrogance, ignorance and a lack of care towards those less fortunate. I will admit I don't know all that much about the Liberal Democrats, but on the basis of their MP's actions are so far - they appear to be traitors. Someone please enlighten me, I feel I lack sufficient knowledge to make an informed judgement.

What are your thoughts on...
Sounds like a case of unrequited love. The best course of action may be to get some soothing thoughts to ease the pain. More seriously; I'm indifferent - I don't see any reason to be taboo about it, but it does seem borderline creepy. Unless it's the girl next door.

Tip.It Times - 11th September 2011
I'll share a little insight (mods remove this post if it's too confidential, but I don't think it is) - schedules are made a week prior to the month, and authors are given one article to be due per month. Editors get two, although there's two editors available per week. A problem with writing for the Times would be the coupled time sensitive issues with school related work - authors don't have much free time to come up with ideas, or time to develop on the idea. It's not an easy job for sure. If you feel you could do better for the times, you should consider applying, or writing a guest article. We're constantly looking for new talent who could offer a new perspective.

The Sleep Thread
I've tried that for years with no avail. What works is to make yourself tired at the correct time, giving sufficient time for a good night's rest. At least, it works for me

The Sleep Thread
It's approximately 5:39am and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to turn up to College in the morning. I might as well pull an allnighter :(

How far would you go in defence of a loved one/family?
I believe this is relevant to this thread; Personally, I don't have any siblings, so I don't quite know how I'd react to that specific situation, but I'm sure I'd be willing to fight to protect my friends/family. Hmmmph

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
So eventually you'll be calling eachother muggles and mudbloods? Or is that just me?

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Right, I'm saying it should not have. So? With such terrible security it was bound to happen. It still doesn't mean it ought to happen, which is what you've implied. It's merely a name anyway, so I don't see much point in this little dispute.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
I don't see much of an issue with the phrase to denote the event - it marks the day which the rather historical event took place, which is the 11th of September. I guess it could be officially changed to a different name eg 'WTC Day' or something.

Youtube linking accounts rant
'Wishing', or intending that Youtube gets hacked because of their activities is still the wrong way to go about it; It merely worsens the problem, and it's rather counterproductive. I must digress; The passive aggressive attitude that's conveyed is only likely to harm your reputation as a Tip.it user; try and tone it down and be a little more professional when presenting an argument like this, it's for your own good.

Youtube linking accounts rant
It's a knee-jerk reaction to be angry at Google for it, but it still doesn't justify your judgement that they should be hacked. Oh, and phone number provision isn't mandatory; You can choose to skip that stage. You should realise that it doesn't require a Gmail account either, just a normal email account (I create disposable emails for this kind of registration).

Jagex Seizes RWT Domain -- 9/02/11
That's the exact point of my article last month Soma. The problem is the way the game works, the symptoms are rampant bots/rwters. I've lost a lot of confidence over the past six months or so. Heck, I'm starting to feel that FT isn't necessary at all, they could just fix the GE to work properly (more responsive update times in response to supply/demand, a more loose limit, less ability for monopolies to influence the market, etc.)

Jagex Seizes RWT Domain -- 9/02/11
This thread is the reason why the gamer's confidence in JaGex is about as low as an emo chick's confidence about asking a guy out. It's disappointing how unwinnable this war is. Why can't they tackle the problem, instead of it's symptoms? A real answer from a real Jmod would be nice...

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
Please do realise that I'm referring to a specific case when I passed that judgement. I'm not referring to everyone, just the worst offenders in history that deserves to die (whom have lost their right to life, as that right would compromise hundreds of other people's same right)
-
Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
Have you checked who the referred people are? I really do feel that when they reach the point of no return (eg in the above examples), they should no longer remain on this world. I really don't think life without parole is sufficient to bring them to justice really. I feel the death penalty should be brought back to the UK, reserved for the worst offenders with irrefutable evidence.
