Job Interviews
Well, with the UK's economy in utter turmoil, I think we need a thread on Job Interviews. What tips do you OTers have? And how would you answer the following job interview questions: [hide=Wall of text]· Could you tell me a bit about yourself? · What would you hope to achieve in 5 years time? · Do you consider yourself successful? · Are you a team player? · What is your greatest strength? · What is your greatest weakness? · How would you deal with a tricky customer? · What do you know about our organisation? · Have you ever been convicted of theft? · Tell me about your ability to work under pressure. · Tell me about a time when you settled a dispute. · Why do you want to work for this organisation? · Why are you interested in the position you are applying for? · Do you think you are overqualified for the position you are applying for? · Why did you leave your last job? · What have you learnt from your mistakes on the job? · What irritates you about your co-workers? · Tell me a problem you had with your previous supervisor. · Why should we hire you? · Do you have any questions for me? [/hide] Mods, feel free to move my thread if it's in the incorrect section

Well, if planting marker plants would get rid of a high amount of bots, then why not plant one on every world? Ofcourse, this isn't possible solo, but it could be an effort made on every server. I guess it has to be enough of a problem for it to be worth it though. Hmm

Nex
Did you guys agree to share the drops? It's not a forgone conclusion that every team does(and even some pro teams(wink, maz) sometimes don't share loot). As for bandos, why would having 2 inventory spots for bandos be any use over karils when the max hit is capped anyway? 6 strength bonus is next to useless when you are mauling, and if it makes to take more damage, its even more useless. Higher strength bonus is still useful, even if the damage is capped, as every potential hitsplat has equal chances to hit. So, if your potential max hit is higher, then the likelihood of hitting the capped amount will be higher as well. I agree that if you have to compromise magic defense for strength bonus, then it may be pointless at Nex, considering she focuses on the person with the least mage defence, however.

No Jagex, I will not try another world.
Lack of server space, monster spawn rate. What's there to discuss?

soul split
Accurate, 2) you can't use it in PvP honour fights. Should that be 1? I don't see why "honour PKers" would prohibit Turmoil... Turmoil doesn't prohibit Edgeville fights. Soulsplit means never having to bring food for training again (as long as a bunyip would typically keep up with healing), and Extremes just make you that little bit stronger. Both are worth getting

Big Brother Is Watching
Proof by assertion. Attacking the arguer. Censor evasion. Sorry, it's very hard to take your post seriously when all you did was to label people who report others as '13 year olds who suck up to JaGex' Give us a real reason why we shouldn't argue for our position please?

Tip.It Times - 6th March 2011
I did kind of enjoy this week's articles. I'm undecided on whether putting botters on a dedicated cheat server is a good idea. However, it does offer a new idea, by thinking outside the box for once. Article about JaGex in it for the cash: Looks good from the first few paragraphs, will reread later

Big Brother Is Watching
I never understood people. Sarcastic or not, if it can be perceived as a threat, or that it could be perceived as offensive, you can get reported for it. No, not everyone who reports people are a 'wannabe mod'. Reporting rule breakers shouldn't really be looked down upon, because it's the rule breaker's fault for breaking the RuneScape rules in the first place. However, this does not mean taking things out of context to report someone is justified, though. Also: Believe it or not, JaGex does read appeals. The 'trick' is to explain what you intended to mean, instead of what it was perceived to mean. Most of the time I see people appealing with cussing, or an appeal to pity, which is fallacious and often fails to work. Not sure what else to add to this post, thoughts a bit scattered. Gnight

Luring
^ Endorsing rule breaking? No. My opinion remains the same: If by 'luring', you mean glitching or deception, then it is completely wrong. If by 'luring', you mean to use someone else's greed, then it should be completely fine. Glitches is never supposed to be part of the game, but they are unfortunately there and to take advantage of that for someone else's gold is breaking the spirit of the game. To deceive someone for items, exploits the stupidity of many RS players, which is wrong as well. However, greed is a different thing. Greed is an excessive desire to possess items/wealth. If someone already risks a large amount of money and attempts to kill you for a large risk, then it should not be your fault that they've lost items. Thoughts are slightly scattered, I'll edit this post later

Did You Know...
As some of you are aware, there is a "Did you know..." section in the Tip It Times. I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread on it, for all Tifers to share trivial, yet helpful knowledge. I'm not sure if this is the right section, so feel free to move my thread. Current "Did You Know's" personally gathered so far (and some of them submitted): [hide]Using items on a Beast of Burden would store things in it, helpful for storing drops during combat. House Options pauses Overloads timer, good for waiting between spawns. You can withdraw '1k' instead of '1,000', and '1m' instead of '1,000,000'. Any Saradomin/Zamorak pet will count as a God item of that god. Pernix/Torva/Virtus will count as all god items, making everything in Gwd unaggressive save the Bosses and their bodyguards. You can gear up with your bank screen open; Click on the top right icon for the equipment screen. Clicking on the fairy ring's code from your fairy ring history will automatically enter the code for you. You can unlock your bank pin anywhere with House Options -> Building Mode.[/hide] Post your own! :D

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
If you're urine is greenish, you're far beyond the "Dehydrated" stage. OT: People that pretend to be in the military on the internet (and most likely can't even do a correct push-up) and then try to insult me using that as a facade. And that, is what grinds my gears. Even having a dump in the morning? I always see it as a shade of greenish yellow, though. On Topic: Impatience. If you want me off the computer, give me two minutes to logout of everything and to close 40 tabs. Don't yell at me for it, dammit EDIT - And it's "your", not "you're", by the way. That annoys me a bit too

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
I'm having a hard time understanding how what you said related to anything on this thread. Who demanded negative proof and what was the negative proof? "I can make any claims I want and not need to provide evidence as long as you cannot prove that my claim is illogical. So i can say that the ECREE claim is incorrect and there'd be no way to prove me wrong unless you can prove my claim wrong."

idiotic runescape reviews
This is a troll review done by someone who has little experience of the game and makes faulty assumptions everywhere. Let's start with the Guildmaster - He has clearly not played enough to enter the Champion's Guild (with a 33 quest point requirement), but he assumes it's due to his lack of membership. In his other screenshot, it appears he's talking to Npc's and assumes they are bots, which is also false. Although the botting problem is back, instead, he takes something completely different to try to 'prove his point'. He also misses the point of RuneScape - The point of playing is that there is no linear path to go from, unlike most Fps games or video games like Grand Theft Auto. You can set your own goals and play it how you want. He quotes "[...] the chat box is rarely used, which, to me, seems like no fun," which is yet again, false, because if you simply go into a friendly clanchat, you will have plenty of people to talk to whilst training. Whilst the position he holds may be a strong one, his reasoning seems to be fragile at best. I've stopped caring about RuneScape reviews for a long time, however...

Beware! 'Jagex' scam email!
I will repeat this time and time again: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. It's funny how most scam emails have terrible grammar too...

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
As I've been quoted three times or so, I'll elaborate. Reddish colour water would refer to unisex bathrooms, and greenish colour water would refer to someone who doesn't drink enough water... On Topic: Have you ever gotten insulted, then wanted to make a comeback, but fail to until it's far too late?

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
People that don't flush public toilets. No, I don't want to see your poop floating in dark green/red water

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
Extraordinary claims could be defined simply as any claim that carries great implications if someone chooses to believe it. Do I have proof for that definition? No. But I'm not claiming to accept the claim "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". If someone wishes to prove the claim true, they must be the ones to prove that the claim itself is not extraordinary. The reason why it's 'extraordinary claims' is because it would be ridiculous to try to live realistically always trying to find evidence for the smallest. For instance, if I told you that 'I ate Wheaties for breakfast this morning', are you really not going to rest until you find enough evidence that my claim is true? There'd be no point in doing so. Let's look at another way of disproving this claim. Say i make the claim that "No claims require evidence. Believe whatever you want." This claim does not offer evidence for itself but does not require evidence by it's own grounds. I can make any claims I want and not need to provide evidence as long as you cannot prove that my claim is illogical. So i can say that the ECREE claim is incorrect and there'd be no way to prove me wrong unless you can prove my claim wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance#Distinguishing_absence_of_evidence_from_evidence_of_absence Demanding negative proof in itself is a false dilemma. It ignores a third option; that there is insufficient evidence to draw a conclusion. Oh, and if you don't know what I mean by false dilemma, basically, it's like asking "Is this piece of paper black or white" when it's actually a shade of grey

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
I sense some crackpot theories soon. I think this thread just brushed over the meanings of "extraordinary". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equivocation
