  1. Perhaps it's the nerves. Surely that's where the term "to [bleep] bricks" came from
  2. I can't see any relevance between your reasoning and conclusions you draw from it. Mind elaborating, and writing a lengthier post to describe exactly what you mean? From what I have read, nothing in your little 'argument' really explains why 'Fair trade and the GE was a failed experiment', and why 'limiting what we can do ingame because of dumb players' is a silly move. 'The rest of us having to put up with fair trade and all the crap that comes with it because a small number of people are to dumb to play runescape is not the way to go.' Why, why, and why?
  3. Would you consider drinking your own..... ? Surely that thought must pop into your head :o On Topic: Spending a long time writing a lengthy post for it to be removed for some trivial reason, or computer restarting. This has happened with long emails I've composed in the past. And when I say long, I mean over 5000 word arguments
  4. The feeling of needing to pee badly whilst in a important meeting/lecture/lesson.
  5. First of all, I feel this topic could be raised again due to increased user traffic (thank you free trading on RuneScape), and that there has been no similar threads for a while now. I know I'm bumping a two month thread. Secondly, I'd like to point out that most of this quote is an appeal to pity. It is irrelevant whether baby chickens passing through a conveyor belt's image is 'monstrous' or not, and even if it's true, it doesn't justify why one should become a vegetarian. I do agree about the point that the cattle is raised to be eaten though, which is questionable. However, becoming a vegetarian/vegan does not stop the Food Industry from raising the same amount of cattle, unless a mass amount of people stop demanding the meat products raised unethically. Simply refusing to consume what is already slaughtered, butchered and cooked is simply wasting resources (assuming it doesn't get eaten by anyone else). For example: You may be at a Bbq, and there are hot dogs and burgers to feed everyone, but you simply refuse to eat the products and they must be thrown away. Also, it is a false dilemma that the only choices are to eat meat and cause 'x claim' or be a vegetarian and cause 'y benefit'. It excludes the possibility of the third option: to cut down on meat consumption. To stop eating meat altogether is unnecessary to keep 'y benefit'. Even if by eating meat, then cattle would be raised to be slaughtered, it still doesn't justify why we should stop eating meat altogether. There are a number of alternative solutions - To eat less meat, so the ethical 'consequences' aren't so 'big'; To inform the government about the ethical impact and social rejection of raising animals to be slaughtered, and vote in a new law against it (note: This only stops the Meat Industry's operations, and still allows people to eat meat freely); To only consume meat from farms with ethical practices. Lastly, I am unsure how your last statement was relevant to the argument, thus I ignored it. Feel free to debate (Though I will post in 3 hours because I need -some- sleep)
  6. Surely they can telegrab and yak away
  7. Golden rules of thumb: EDIT - I thought this is particularly important, so I'd say it outside the hide tag. Change your password NOW! This applies especially to anyone reading this has botted in the past, because malicious code was used in one of the more common bot sites, and they have only scammed 10% of their 'list' of players. These 'hackers' are still going through a 'list' of 10 thousand players at random, thus it is important to change your password to keep your account secure. Oh, and they tracked RuneScape bank pin's too, so if anyone reading this has botted before, change your bank pin, and delete any .ini files you have downloaded [hide=Wall of text]If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Never trade in the Wilderness. Check your second screens; they are there for a reason. This goes especially true with staking, just a lack of 'No magic' could mean a loss of millions (or to a high risk staker, 100's of millions). Be aware of bugs posted on forums. If you're poisoned with low lifepoints, log the hell out, go on a different account and ask friends to help you out. Don't fall for the free sharks 'scam'... For staking: The more you play, the more you lose, and in the end, you lose it all. If you win 20m in a row then lose 2m, don't go on a high risk rampage to get it all back. This is one of the quickest ways to get cleaned. Never click on anything in a 'JaGex' email. It doesn't matter if it's a free partyhat, or learning to merchant, or even a Pmod application. Real messages come through your RuneScape account, which you can view in the lobby. Even if a email is legitimate, go through the RuneScape homepage to be extra secure. Hell; Even TipIt is untrustworthy. If you receive a private message that links you to anywhere, don't click it unless you know who you're talking to, and it doesn't look too good to be true. Even a 'RuneScape poll' can be malicious [/hide]
  8. Both familiars are melee based. Running from a Kyatt would avoid the potential 300 hit's, and running from a iron titan would avoid the potential 900's
  9. Climbing up the ladder from Armoured Zombies to the Chaos Temple Altar automatically resets Extremes to Supers, therefore defeating the purpose of the altar. This means it's impractical to train there, and I need you guys to offer me some solutions. What do you think I should do? I only have a Bunyip and some low cost gear, though. Post away
  10. Golden Rule of Thumb; If it's too good to be true, then it probably is.
  11. I agree with Rocked here. It does feel like different games, with people earning Bil's in mere hours and people getting cleaned right after, I see this as a RS roulette.
  12. Even if GE mechanics are unintentional, I think they should be here to stay. It still doesn't allow monopolies, and encourages flipping, which isn't exactly bad for the economy.
  13. They have always been like that in Clanwars, not sure if you got that in Clanwars or out though
  14. Getting there... is that another story?
  15. Sexy. Your tactic is "Dds stake 200m!" and use a Sol spec instead?
  16. I thought you could by going into the Familiar Options and clicking "Dismiss Now" I'm pretty sure you get a confirm box in the chat box which is cancelled if you get hit or click to move. That's "Dismiss", not "Dismiss Now". I don't quite understand your reasoning behind not using a Steel Titan. 1000gp difference is so insignificant it shouldn't really even matter, as long as it keeps the attackers eating and you alive. Also, I really don't see the problem with Yak's. You can bank your bank too, what's wrong with it? There is risk involved when trying to scroll too, thus it's pretty balanced to use it.
  17. If it ever does erupt, it better be on the 21nd December 2012. Oh, and planes don't fly well in Volcanic ash. Goodluck, guys
  18. Exactly what I've been thinking. The effects are going to be quite complex, because there's such a huge range of familiars out there. I think Yak's and Unicorns are going to make the biggest impact, because they can be summoned at the very last minute and do some quick healing or banking before what was supposed to be certain doom. With no differentiation between a player with a Wolpertinger and a player without, Edgeville will see big changes in how players react to Hybrids, who can and will hit 500's through Protect from Melee. I agree with what you're saying about passive abilities. Steel Titan may be the norm for those with a high enough summoning level to have it, because it gives that extra little boost in defence that is unachievable without. Who knows what the aftermath will be, we'll just have to wait and see...
  19. This is more interesting than some of the Tip.It Times articles I read. You should apply for the Editorial Panel positions. On Topic: I think blurring the line between skilling and combat is fine, only to a certain extent. Herblore is quite controversial because 'Dangerous PvP' doesn't allow Extremes, yet 'Safe PvP' does, with the reasoning for it being "it doesn't give combat levels, and you can't see if someone has them or not" (typical JaGex excuse). However, it's also good because it gives people a reason to train these skills besides training for the sake of training. Not sure where I'm going here, I'm arguing on a tangent. I think I'll make a proper post when I wake up.
  20. It's hard to get by with 80GB? Try 15. EDIT - Virgin 50mb/s contract is uncapped and unthrottled, perfect for an addict like you :D
  21. This is true, and people might stop trading over the GE when buying mass quantities of items, thanks to the good ol' GE limits Jagex decided to keep <_< And why did they decide to keep them? To stop price manipulation... hah! At least it wasnt a stamp copy of to stop rwting, again. No... it's to stop monopolies.
  22. "Economic Ignorance" seems to lack a strong conclusion, from my quick scan through of the article. Hmm..
  23. Fisting your opponent is better than whipping them, also, you get to stake higher if you do so
  24. Well, OP has stated ingame that he only 'hopes' that it's going to be multicombat, not that it's confirmed. It'll be interesting to see how the revenant cave will work though, as it would depend upon the spawn rates, difficulty of the revenants, and the frequency of drops to be sure that it's worthy of camping. Oh, and a Yak should be great there, you could threeitem with a yak to bank loot :D
