Watched Topics Icon
So there is an icon the the righthandside of the main page of these forums called watch topics It's set to forums by default, is there a way to set it to topics? I think topics makes more sense since I only look at a few forums anyways, and those the newest post for those forums is readily viewable from the front page anyways.

Herblaw!
It was VERY good about a week ago, but now it's pretty bad. Learn mouse keys, and cleaning herbs will be the way to go.

Crystal bow
accumulator works fine there in my experience. I uesd to only bring 100 bolts, because with a proper safespot + accumulator, that was enough. , but crystal bows do have potential. But it would be pretty nice at TD's due to 1 less item when player swapping, and soul wars cape. I used to lose prayer really fast because i didn't have to reflexes to flash eagle eye/piety. soul wars cape would have helped oh so much. crystal bow was also my weapon of choice for fight caves. Every little bit helps when it comes to damage rate. as for like... general training? yeah i'd never use a crystal bow.

what ring?
I can understand that you're frustrated when nobody takes your data seriously after you put so much time and effort into it. You're not exactly the only person that's performed research on RS, then get ignored. granted maybe none of us are quite as dedicated as you. But not everybody here is an idiot troll. It wouldn't hurt to treat us with a little more respect. What was that post you made a while back about the golden rule? anyways. I'm perfectly willing to collect damage splat data when school ends and I find myself with some free time. I'm rather interested in this information myself.

what ring?
Record the damage done by individual hits, whether they be misses or not Make sure you do not record data after the first 1-2 hits against a monster, so that Knockout damage doesn't get factored in Voila, no human error in your test There *are* good ways to perform gameplay tests without human error.

Saradomin godswords uses for slayer
Usefulness of SGS = f(# of hours you spend slaying, # of hours you spend boss hunting) That's how I think about it. How many hours a week do you guys think a person needs to slay/boss hunt to justify an SGS? because with falling prices, you clearly don't want one if you're not gonna use it.

what ring?
So any time someone does a test and draws a conclusion from the results, this means that it happened because they wanted that to be the outcome? There's some flawed reasoning going on around here alright, but it ain't mine! You keep saying my methods are "flawed" but can't explain what the flaws are. And you certainly have no data to contradict mine. So maybe the problem isn't that I have a preconception against strength bonuses, but that you have a preconception *in favor* of them and just want an excuse to reject anything that contradicts it. I don't have a preconception against strength bonus. heck if you read my first post in this thread, I said that warrior ring probably is good for the player, especially considering his lower levels. Is it so hard to believe that I simply think your experiment was flawed? How much more simply do you want me to put it? Your experiment was affected by human reflex. And I believe that preconceptions can affect human reflex.

Grimy's Adventurer Log Signatures
sorry for the slow response http://rsig.eu/runescape-stat-signature.php is where you want to go.

what ring?
No I'm not accusing you of lying, I just think your testing methods are flawed. There's a perfectly good reason believe that a tester's preconceptions affect their output. And your wording of the conclusion heavily implies your preconception of strength bonuses being overrated.

'Bonus XP Weekend' Economically Benefitial?
Sure the bonus weekend got alot of money dumped quickly, but it definitely doesn't help inflation in the long run. with the bonus xp, means that players don't need to spend as much money later on, training summoning. In terms of summoning, most players are going to use up their charms, more or less regardless of the weekend or not. The weekend just took more players out of the equation altogether, helping them reach their summoning goals, 99 summoning if that is the case these players probably aren't going to be training summoning anymore, IE partaking in coindestruction later on and slayer, tedious to train? what? slayer is one of the funnest and most popular skills in the game. slayer areas are more or less always crowded anyways. If anything, the bonus week pulled players away from boss hunting, such as GWD and tormented demons finally why is armour being dumped a good thing? Armor and weapons had more or less reached and equilibrium price. Then we had a period of price instability. Sure, a few armor pieces exchanged hands, which could be good or bad. Now some players aren't sure if we'll have another bonus week, injecting alot of doubts about prices. That most definitely is not good. Bonus week was fun and rewarding, and those aspects might make it worth it. BUT IT WAS NOT GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY IN ANY OF THE WAYS YOU MENTIONED.

I've been waiting for that update for almost two years now...

what ring?
Over the course of hundreds of kills, any slight mistakes -- such as being a fraction of a second slow in seeing the red bar or a fraction of a second fast anticipating it -- would tend to even out. I also only did monsters that take a fairly long time to kill, which reduces the impact of measurement error. Regardless, random error doesn't matter all that much as long as there is no bias in the measurements. Meaning.. as long as I am doing the same thing for the three cases I am testing, it should all come out in the wash. In practice, the randomness in the game itself is far greater than any variations in my process. You really can't rely on the randomness due to your reflexes to even out though. Reflexes are a human factor, we can't expect them to hold steady with time. Additionally we don't know if there isn't a bias. because once again, reflex is a human factor. You make a comment at the end of your report, stating that once again strength bonus is overrated. That doesn't really help your credibility. How do we know your opinion of strength bonus during the experiment didn't affect your reflexes?
-
what ring?
Wouldn't that amplify any human error then? If I'm interpreting this right. You're manually starting and ending your timer when you attack and kill a monster. There would be some human error, just due to reflexes, And I'd imagine that ratio of this human error, to the time it takes to kill a single monster, would be nontrivial.

what ring?
I'm going to have to side with bladewing here. Your method of comparing the rings simply allows for too many variables. The efficiency of your gameplay could be fluctuating, you could be getting more tired at times. heck maybe even the respawn rates of the monsters could be changing. something along the lines of documenting the damage hit with each attack, would have cut down on the variables much more, just for example. you're data is definitely far too inconclusive as it is right now.

what ring?
likewise the sooner you raise your combat level, the more it will benefit you in the long run. You level up too quickly at lower levels to justify getting MA rings. I would hold off on MA rings until at least 90+ attack/strength/defence.

Saradomin godswords uses for slayer
Main reason I sold my SGS is because the price is dropping. SGS saves 30k-40k per hour, but I do not enough to justify the price falls it's taken over the last few months. nor do I boss hunt, or do anything else that requires an SGS i don't see the SGS going back up either. Between soul split and the promise of new gear, I think SGS will become outdated sooner or later, whether or not it is already. And i don't want to be holding onto one when that happens. Nor do I do combat enough to justify holding onto an SGS in the mean time.

MA Rings (i)
I played MA just to imbue my diamond ring and stopped there... not worth my time to get the others. The diamond ring's +5 stab att and +4 to all other offensive stats, with no defensive boosts. It's basically all the Frem rings conveniently combined into one, with an extra +5 att and w/o the str boost. I'm pretty sure Jagex only created that awful minigame to see how far people will go for a minuscule strength boost, since they know how obsessed everybody is with their strength bonus. At my combat lvl, +4 strength strength equipment bonus boosts my max hit slightly more than 3 strength levels 95 -> 98 strength would take me 2.3 mil experience so it's 20 hours of slaying vs 25 hours of mobilising armies for the same strength bonus albeit slaying is more profitable/fun, and of course grants hitpoints + slayer xp the reward is actually pretty well balanced. arguably worthwhile for someone who is maxed out, since they don't have anywhere else to go for buffs. And assuming they could level their strength from 99 to 102, it would still take about 25 hours anyways.

what ring?
Berserker is a very good bread and butter ring. A few monsters you might want to consider using a warrior ring on. Basically any task with substantial defense, that you are whipping. the warrior ring is afterall, only 400k gp MA rings are better, but you're better off training slayer than ranking up in MA. You'll gain levels so fast that 25 hours of slaying will boost your combat abilities much more than onyx/berserker rings(i)

How do I create a group?
You create a set of objects, and define an operation for these objects such that there is closure, associativity, an identity element, and inverses.

Max amount of specs with vls?
From what I heard, the moment you go into combat with a PVP item, 1 minute is taken off the timer so if that's true that's 60* 4 =240 special attacks per sword or 300 with a special attack potion?

Solo KBD
If you have a lava titan, you should really consider teleporting out after each kill. The respawn rate is long enough that you have time to bank/restore prayer in between kills, and run back with a lava titan in time for the respawn. as for gear, zamorakian spear is obviously the best choice if you have super antifires but there is nothing wrong with a dragonfireshield + whip setup. i say if you're going to teleport out after every kill, focus on offensive gear rather than proselyte. Torso, bandos, etc. otherwise proselyte/veracs is a good combo

Claws, SS, DFS, GS, or 99 Smithing? :D or what? + Extra Question
I would like to mention that smithing is next on the chopping block for high level skill content if the content is anything like herblore/prayer, I'd want to get smithing now before it becomes more expensive.

Is Runescape becoming too much like other mmo's?
I agree with all your points except the one on armor and quest types. the weapon/armor system hasn't really changed much since RS2 it NEEDS updating there's nothing wrong with having special enchantments on your weapons/armor having to work hard to enchant your way to a super uber weapon that's a very fun thing to do. It's why people play games like Diablo. Secondly, you say that jagex's quests are special because they give reasons for why you need to collect x items, talk to Y people and etc but i still think that's a little outdated. While our runescape's lower level quests aren't quite as boring as other MMO's, runescape lacks a distinct feeling of epicness some players have 300 QP now, and are described as a legend among legends but do we ever run into any quests where our enemies see our legendariness and cower in fear of our awesomeness? nope and frankly games like mass effect 2 and dragon age show very well that you can make a very fun and challenging game even if your foes cower in your wake. Jagex always makes the bosses of new quests seem like insurmountable obstacles, which ultimately get crushed rather easily. For all my quest points, I still don't really feel like an epic adventurer just a random lackey

Strength Bonus
I would not describe it as a 1/50 chance of hitting one more damage since that implies that there is still a 49-sided-dice roll for the first damage, and a second 1/50 roll to hit an extra damage rather think of the 49 sided dice becoming a 50 sided dice of course the whole 49-50 sided dice thing does not account for the new 10x damage resolution, and the possibility of hitting 0's

Runescoop
I can't resist the urge to comment on this <3 Ultimately by paying for runescoop, you're receiving information. The thing is, some of the information you may or may not already know. so the amount of value you get out of runescoop, is at least to some extent, a function of how much RS knowledge you already have. You'll only want to pay if you don't know that much about runescape. Thus i view paying for runescoop as a sign of weakness :P I'll get out of here b4 qeltar gets comes by now.
