Not a bad guide at all. This is the set-up I use, and I must say it works well for me. Here is what I wear:- Helm of Notzeiot Zamorak Cape Armadyl Pendant Broad Bolts (only 50ea) Rune crossbow Black d'hide Body Dragonfire Shield Saradomin Chaps (100k) Barrows Gloves Bandos Boots (800k) Ring of Wealth (currently in testing stages) EDIT:- Range Attack of 177 Range defence of 200 My invo would normally comprise of:- 16-18 Sharks 6-10 Bones to Peaches 2 Ranged Potions (strongly recommend) Air Runes law runes Ectophial Fires/Natures (alching) Personally, I suggest tanking over prayer pots anyday! If you are under 70 defence, (unless 90+ ranged), then I would suggest not doing these unless you pot ranged. I have seen pures doing it......bad idea P.S. As mentioned, doing a small topic on tanking them would be good. Maybe a comparison of rates between the two. P.S 7.6/10

I am 20 years old now, and although I in no way consider myself old, I am an adult. I always heard in the early days of playing that there were adults who played, but I never really believed it! Recently, I have stumbled across some adults, so I actually now believe this statement. You obviously have no clue. You will no longer beable to damage them there after 4000 kills. FACT!

It is NOT possible to get 70 to 99 range on aviansies! The maximum numberof any type e.g armadyl is in fact 4000. So unless 4000 kills will get you 99 range (it wont), then no. If you decide to train on them anyways, with 70 range, I strongly recommend using range potions. I also suggest using an item from ALL 4 God types, or you will not last too long. Use broad bolts, and at least 50 bones to peaches to get a decent kill count.

You just contradicted yourself:- "so u see its basicly luck" and "there isnt anything called luck in a game as rs" And about the example you made about visgaes and the chances being say 1 in 10000....there is no guarantee you will ever get one!! Drop rates are generally an estimation made by players, not formally made by jagex. I would say dont camp anything unless you are actually training a certain skill/melee skill, because the chances of the rare drop, is at is meant RARE!

Lol! You are hilarious! You know, you are obviously unable to interact and communicate with other players online. You are incensed when someone strikes up a conversation with you? I really dont want to know how you deal with real people and actual situations! OT: Skillcape holders rarely ask for respect, and for those that do openly appeal for respect....I have no time for them! I do not care why a player strives for a certain cape eg. looks, money, as long as it is not hoping for respect, then I have no problem with it. Even if it is say 99 cooking! Are you going to finish the OP yet? We understand you want us to compare armadyl and Bandos armour, but in what circumstances? Are you ranging? Slaying a certain monster? Questing? If I was to range avainsies, or anything in that matter, I would advise armadyl as it has awesome range attack bonus. If you were to melee or camp against a non-ranging NPC, use Bandos. To be honest, if you knew how to use the RS interface properly, you could have found out the stats of each, and applied it to each situation. Thur

I see exaclty what owly is saying on this thread. I personally did not range many tasks, however, come to think of it, I wish I had. You are not only training both the range and slayer skills XP, but you also get the variety not associated with camping or grinding. In future, I will be suggesting slayer to be trained by range if levels are sufficient to do so. Good rant. P.S. Most of the commenters against the OP have either not read, or even worse, understood the point of the OPs views.

The other day while training range at avinsies, I saw a guy with 1 defence and 70 range also killing aviansies. I asked him if he was potting range. No. :roll: Then he said he could last ages there. How? Yes, that is right, a full inventory of prayer pots!! I am guessing he was after quick cash, but with 70 range and 100k in pots, I do not think it is worth it personally! To conclude, "What the hell is he doing?" haha

Finally, someone who realizes that safing is just that, playing it say. Why gamble dangerously with a couple mill? Eat at as soon as you can get full effect I say. And far casting is rediculous. I want as much space between you and your whip as possible when Im in pathetic mage robes. You close, and you win. I would bet an awful lot of money on the fact that you could not PK a whip or a fury with your stats, unless you pjed. EDIT:- Sorry, I did not realise they were not your stats! Anyways, most people would run from you safing, so still a pk as described is unlikely. I can see your frustration at this as recently mages have not dropped dragon boots in well over 500 now, but if the drop rates increase on rare items such as god swords and shards, then the prices will drop so quickly, and devalue GWD.

Ydrasil is talking a lot of sense to be honest. Everything he has written and discussed is true in my findings as a slayer. Ydrasil, unlike Compfreak, actually observes the other perspective and makes the effort to understand the point of view before dismissing it. Compfreak, no matter how many tests you do, as Ydrasil stated, the average combat stats are far from 99.... This makes all of your calculations practically void, and to generalise based on them.... ! Almost comical.

I quite simply agree with the poster of the thread! I have been playing for 5 years now, I have Pked in both present and past, and he is correct. I am assuming that the people that do the above (not inc pilers) especially safing enjoy wasting there food. They do not seem to realise that by safing people will generally not fight you. You waste your pots, prayer and food on an idiot not willing to lose his stuff. In my oppinion defies the object of the wilderness and risk. I believe in honour pking, always have, always will. If you ever see my account safing, it is because I have been hacked. See vids on Youtube for proof of this.

This argument is comparable to playing sports unprofessionally. I played football in highschool all four years. Our team made playoffs every year, and the seasons was probably around 12 weeks including two-a-days. During the season we practiced 2 hours a day after school, excluding friday, where we instead had a game.. So thats 11 weeks of 4 days a week. 44 days, 88 hours of practice during the regular and post season. also, we have 11 games, that required at least 6 hours of our time. 66 hours of game play. We had 1 week where we practiced 5 hours a day, 5 days. Thats 25 hours. 88+66+25=179 hours a year. 4 years is 636 hours spent on football alone(I also wrestled and pole vaulted)....So at your calculations, for playing football in highschool, something I enjoyed, I should receive £3,180...And that doesn't even include weightlifting all year as part of the program. So with your logic, a higschool football player should recieve £3,180 a year. Too bad that robots can do the same work that everyone else does to get their account to this (insane) value...and not to mention gold farmers in china would be willing to do it for mere pennies. A high school player can't make 5 pounds an hour easily. A Chinese gold farmer can't make 5 pounds an hour easily. Neither of them have those jobs available. I do. I can line up more work then I could ever do for 30-40$+ an hour as an independent computer consultant. My time is worth much more to me then a high school athlete's or a Chinese gold farmer. If you feel that, go and do something more productive yourself! You are slating the community of RS, and generalising. Not only do you have no right to do that, but are you not being a hipocrit? Not everyone on here has spent every waking hour on RS. People in general play the game in their free time. Well, you know what? I have had my account for 6 years now, and I have achieved everything I intended to (referring to the what do you want to achieve in the next 5 years comment). I went to university for 2 years, (did not play once), I am now in a full time job in the construction industry where I wanted to be, before returning to university for my last year next year. Just because you play RS, it does not mean that nothing else matters. Although it is debatable, there are probably more young people playing this game than older. Let them be kids ffs! They should not have a care in the world to be honest. Let them make there own decisions. To be honest, it sounds like you regret playing RS. Never regret what you do! You did it for a reason. It has probably made you somewhat into who you are today.

We have an ultimate weapon in the form of a godsword, so on that point I would say no! However, I think there should be a weapon that requires a much higher attack level, say 90. This would hit say 4 or 5 less max damage than a whip, but is say 1.5 to 2 times quicker. The success rate would be slightly reduced as well. This would make training much more fun and act as an insentive to get higher attack levels than the pathetic 70 needed for whip and 75 for a GODSWORD!

Wow, I've never seen such bad explanations :lol: It's just supply and demand. You cannot spell, so i will not even go on about the lack of reading skills you hold within. He is quite clearly asking questions for others to coment on, to bring out possible reasons. I bet that some of the females on here may hold that oppinion, he is literally trying to get people thinking. He is in no way stating he thinks that is the reason. Supply and demand is a reasonable reason, however, in the real world, it would be because less material was used to make it :lol:
