Hamas executes 2 for Israeli collaboration
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/04/15/gaza[Caution: Executable File]cutions/index.html?hpt=T2 [hide]The ruling Hamas government in Gaza said it executed two Palestinian men Thursday for collaborating with Israel. "This morning the government carried out death sentences against collaborators Mohamed Ibrahim Ismail, a resident of Rafah, and Nasser Salama Abu Freih of Jabalya on charges of spying for the Zionist occupation and causing the death of many fighters and injuring several others during years of work with the occupation," Hamas said in a statement. The Gaza-based Mezan Center for Human Rights said the two were killed by a firing squad. They are believed to be the first judicial executions in Gaza since 2005 when Fatah dominated the Palestinian Authority. But Hamas has been accused of extrajudicial activity over the years, such as killing and wounding political opponents or alleged collaborators. Hamas Interior Minister Fathi Hammad indicated in a radio interview last month that execution of prisoners found guilty of collaborating with Israel would commence soon. A Mezan Center researcher said that as of March 2009 there were some 17 prisoners in Hamas custody who had been sentenced to death. Hamas seized power from the Palestinian Authority in Gaza in 2007. While courts in the coastal strip have sentenced prisoners to the death for collaboration and murder, no sentences have been carried out. In a report released last month, human rights group Amnesty International's Middle East program director Malcolm Smart said legal proceedings that led to death sentences "failed to meet international fair trial standards" and made any resulting executions "especially abhorrent." Dr. Hassan al-Ouri, a legal adviser to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, called the executions illegitimate, citing Palestinian laws that require death sentences to be ratified by the president. Al-Ouri said that while serving as president, Abbas had not given his approval for any executions, instead changing court sentences to life or less than life.[/hide] I can't believe anyone still thinks Hamas won the elections there "legitimately". Are you serious?! Theres nothing worse than having Orange Juice after brushing! Theres still that minty taste, and it ruins the OJ. I completely agree!- Your Childhood.
I remember getting a special Barbie doll I wanted for a very long time (2 weeks!) from the "Tooth Fairy". I also remember thinking about it a few years later when I knew the Tooth Fairy is not real, and understanding the doll was a gift from my parents. I did find it odd that I got to keep my tooth AND the doll...- Today...

I don't know, I keep getting ranged and magic equipment, even though I'm using almost solely melee. I do have some arrows bound so that could explain ranged, but not magic.- 12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
Your xp is only based on the floor, the prestige, and those other modifiers you see at the end. You can leave every monster minus the boss and gain the same xp. So don't feel the need to waste your time killing all monsters. Incorrect, if I'm not mistaken.. There is a penalty for leaving creatures. Nope.- Today...
ROFL! I just read a "the game" reference on Facebook (a friend said he lost), and totally didn't lose! It's like I knew what he was talking about, but after reading it so many times I didn't even bother to think about it..... and then I realized all that and lost....lol... EDIT: Sorry for double post  ...- Toothpaste
I used to have some sort of mental illness in regards to brushing teeth. I did it like 7-8 times a day, at morning, at night, after (and sometimes before) meals, and I even woke up in the middle of the night once or twice a week, just so I could brush my teeth. I got rid of that addiction about 2 years ago, and today I brush my teeth 2 times a day (sometimes 3...). I mean....brushing teeth is crazy fun, isn't it?!- Today...

The staff has said several times that they did what they wanted to do- get more content for the community with no negative side effects (other than the tedious burden of removing ads ). Jagex said "if you want this, monitor your ads better." If something is mutually beneficial and mutually non-harmful- where's the harm in that?! The problem is not only the ads themselves, it's the facts that- 1. Jagex even thought they should tell fansites what ads they should be having. 2. Jagex dictates that with a carrot and a stick- you do what they want, you get the carrot, you don't- you get the stick. 3. Jagex specified and elaborated on the criteria to grant fansites their ranks, and they didn't mention ads at all. Not only ads are a major part of their measure, it's one of the most influencing- A site that deserves platinum could easily settle for silver ONLY BECAUSE OF THE ADS! Other than that... where do you get your data from? I highly doubt donations are more benificial than ads. I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely. Oh, and admins claimed that changing the ads did not affect revenue. 1. Jagex said which ads they should not be having- which (as I've said), has no effect on the community or any imagined sense of pride. 2. Jagex didn't dictate- they didn't tell us what we were going to do. They offered us some goods based on the condition that we monitor our ads better. Would you disagree to someone giving you money on the terms that you better manage your money? It doesn't harm you in any way to manage your money better, and if your principle is "I don't manage my money because I'm sticking it to the man".. fine, be that way. Don't take the money so you can boost your rebellious-for-the-sake-of-rebellious pride. 3. They could elaborate more on the ads part since it is such a major point. Ad revenue usually isn't much for a site, and I'm sure Tip.It gets more in donations than they do ad revenue (Ad blockers?). It's common sense to me. And your last point solidified my point about the ad revenue not affecting much of anything. 1. I never said it has an effect on the community, you totally missed my point. The fact that Jagex felt the need to tell fansites what ads they should (or should not, whatever) have, is completely wrong. Tip.It is an independant site. I'd do the same thing if I were to take the choice (on Tip.It's part), because there's no reason not to. I'm just saying it's wrong on many levels (on Jagex's part). 2. Not agreeing to Jagex's deal would mean that- Saying Tip.It ingame will not be allowed, that Jagex will not acknowledge Tip.It as a safe site, regardless of whether or not it really is safe, and that Jagex will not acknowledge Tip.It is a "good" fansite. Agreeing to the deal would mean Jagex will acknowledge Tip.It as a safe site, will acknowledge Tip.It as a good fansite, will hand over some perks, etc. They can't dictate ads by the original definition of "dictating" simply because Tip.It owes them nothing, but what they did here is dictating nonetheless. 3. Could elaborate? They never even mentioned it! I wouldn't argue here as I don't have the data needed for that. But it still seems illogical to me that most of Tip.It's income comes from donations.- Fansite Support (Re-launch)

Hohbein- Why do ads matter that much? Tip.It did not change one bit (except for removing the ads, ofcourse) and that was enough to promote it from silver to platinum. That is also the reason for Tip.It's silver rank in the first place. Why are ads such an important aspect of a fansite, according to Jagex? And why isn't it clearly explained by you? The criteria you presented requires a focused community, repetitive-site updates, etc. Nothing is explained as to advertisements, yet adds are enough to demote a website good enough for platinum- to silver! How comes? - Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
