  1. At the moment, melee uses more combat levels than range and mage ??? I always wondered if it would be a good idea to make separate skills for magic and ranged, just as attack and strength make up melee skills. Will for magic and er.. strength or something for ranged?(obviously something else but idk what to suggest) :? I quite like this idea, but what would you do with the existing skills? Grant someone with 80 ranged, say, 80 ranged and 80 vision? It seems a little...odd...
  2. We playing the same game dude? There have been more bugs and flaws in the past three months than in years. He doesn't do everything, you can't blame him for the bugs and flaws and such which are probaly inevidable with these sorts of updates anyway. I mean it's not like they arn't trying to rush everything, look how they've held back Mobilising Armies and the "150th quest" so they're perfect. CEO doesn't really do anything. I said this a page back but everybody ignored me. Stockholders-->Board of Directors-->CEO. BTW, you are now making the assumption that the 150th quest and mobilizing armies are both going to be bug free and good. I sincerely doubt that both of them will be received favorably and I bet there is a high chance that they both are soon forgotten about. Right, more regular and focused development diaries? We have gotten one and it was crap. We learned that we are getting a dwarf quest.... Great. I don't think many people give a dam when the story line is compared to some others people would like finished. Nice apology when 2 months later a bug occurs that ends up letting F2P get slaughtered by P2P in pvp worlds. Nice. I am so surprised by useful updates like the removal of random events. I mean, we had only been asking for this since forever and it has made sense for well over a year? I mean seriously, I don't mean to vilify Mod MMG because he is new but I do expect a little more. He inherited a competent company that has been running a game for 5+ years quite well. It isn't like he was thrust into some crap situation and is being forced to dig his way out. All I am saying is I expected a little more than updates that are simple fixes to problems that have been around for ages. I can only agree. While it's nice to have an icon on the minimap telling us something we already know, I want something a bit more.... solid. The game works because it's fast-moving. Charming, we have another dwarf quest, but they weren't amazing in the first place. Compare that to the release of new quests, mingames *cough* mobilising armies *cough*, and you make for one unhappy player.
  3. Smithing seems pointless, but it isn't exactly the only skill that's going this way...... crafting, for example, has limited uses, especially for f2p.
  4. Lovely guide, I often kill these myself..... but sort out spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  5. I like this in general, but you need to mabye reconsider your altar at the Barrows..... it'd be just a little overpowered. In general, great idea, 8/10.
  6. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=combat_calc.htm
  7. Erm..... the answer to that is mabye. 60+ yes, 50+ and you'd be struggling to make much of a profit.
  8. Ankou can generate between 50-200k/hour. This is mostly in blood and death runes, pure essence and battlestaves. A frustrating monster to kill, they're often too crowded.
  9. It's easy to be carried away by the great style of writing that the new CEO has- I was myself. What we must ask ourselves, however, is 'will any of this affect our gameplay?'. As lovely as his opening post is, I can't help to think that there'll be a large degree of hot air in what he's said. I'm no pessimist, but I doubt that telling us how long it takes to get to 99 in all skills will actually do much for us. Here's another statistic, Mark: The average intelligent reader will be swept away for about 2000 miliseconds.
  10. Also consider the problems associated with the cost of this gear. At around the combat skill levels that both Alon and I have, money making tends to be primitive and it could take time to attain, for example, the fury. From a perspective of cost, the Warrior ring beats the Berserker hands down.
  11. How are they meant to lose money? Are they taking a super str pot every time they hit a kalphite, to make sure that the (painfully boring) task is over quicker? Slayer is essentially a gathering skill, and losing money should be quite difficult. Yes, it is possible to lose money through slayer, if you want to get it over with. But guess what! You can lose about 130gp every time you buy a yew long and a nature rune and do some alching! If you want quick exp, expect to pay money, but taking the skill slowly should make money filling your coffers almost inevitable.
  12. You need to appreciate that you may be very unlucky. 7.5k tokens and then I get rune defender-rune defender in 2 drops. Just my luck.
  13. I disagree. How many players have, by now, worked out that magic and mellee can be used together? What about those melleers who use black dragonhide to avoid some scary ancient freezing them to death? And what about the use of Ancient Magicks while popping shots off with a rune crossbow? No-one should be restricted in their style of combat, and frankly, a little ingenuity never hurt anyone. Should I be terrified of an ancient and know that I'm going to die, or make the game more fun by pulling out a dds, dragonhide, and seeing who can win? Let's evlove in our style of combat.
  14. That's lovely, but does my lack of questpoints somemehow visually impair me? Does completing While Guthix Sleeps somehow educate my eyes, so that I can finally tell that the dragon plate isn't actually as ugly as what I first took it to be? The dragon chain looks far better in my opinion. And I'll stick to my 320-odd-thousand GP Torag's plate, thank you very much.
  15. What do you mean, "need"? What do you mean, "deserve?"- do members now have to pick up the extra costs for free users spending their time doing very little? Buy members, stop complaining, have a nice life and enjoy the game.
  16. You'll need to alch them, they don't sell.
  17. I think Jagex needs more support for clans in the ways highlighted on this thread. Unique armour? Give me a break. But it would easily be possible to create an item for wear not during clan wars- for instance, a jacket and some trousers in the colour of your clan. Not difficult and would be great for the game.
  18. What do F2Pers actually deserve? Nothing. The game is designed, according to Jagex, to have 100-ish hours of gameplay before becoming a member. Are you asking Jagex to give up their revanue when you all add nothing to it?
  19. It's already been stated that there would be a fair amount of immature behaviour should this thing come into effect. I've seen it myself when a J-mod, Mod Oswald I think it was, stood in Varrock Square to talk about Stealing Creations. I managed to have a fair conversation with him despite the curse of level 40s in adamant with no idea of how to spell anything in the English language, but it was certainly annoying to have the bunch of low-levelled players conducting macho banter about having level 146 mains... What I'd dearly like to see is a method of sending Jagex a message through the Game Website; either I'm blind or such a thing does not exist. There are better ideas for contacting J-mods than using the ClanChat function.
  20. Roaches are fine, but I prefer ankou. They're more likely to give a good profit as roaches depend upon drops of rune items.
  21. I'd like to iron out my combat skills..... at 102 cb, range and mage under 70 is frankly embarrassing. I'd also like to work hard on skills and quests, hopefully getting the Quest cape, and a Saradomin sword would be nice too.
  22. I do remember hearing a story about someone who obtained a fury for 500k..... I believe it can be done.
  23. I think that before you even start on your 26-40 goal, be prepared to go a lot further with summoning. at 40, the strongest creature is still the bronze mino, at level 50 combat. I have 57 summoning and I'm still not seeing it pay off incredibly yet, though the Terrorbird is nice. Just be prepared for those levels to be a waste of time.
