Extremes
Extremes...... Extremes..... hmm, to get or not to get which is the question really. After reading what Aeil said about extremes in DemonicSushi's topic I'm back considering getting them again <.< It's really annoying me because I'll go through phases where I'm all "oh they're pointless" but then someone will say something and I'll be all "emg I wants". Anyways, are they REALLY worth it? And I mean REAAAAAAALY worth it. Yes? No? Maybe? And I currently have a DFS in my bank and another ~35m in cash and assets that I can afford to sell totalling I'd say what? 60-70M? Is this enough to get me to whatever level I need for things like extremes? Or the level I need to greenmans ale them? Thanks.

steel dragons
I found that whip is comparable to LBS on steels. And with your str and att being that high you'd probably have better results with the whip. I tried LBS for ages on tasks and then started using the whip. on LBS I'd average a full tort and bank before I needed to renew, with whip I can do 2 trips with the 1 tort. But s'up to you. And Zaaps, why so hating? :P They're actually a fun and decent task in Kuras dungeon. Oh and Pulli, as Aeil said, you can't tank them. The only way you can do that is with Extremes, 99 Def, Uni, and Soul Split. I watch people struggle doing it with anything less when I'm on tasks.

Should I Sell Claws ???
Also just to add into this about herblore being better. I think that as Aeil illustrated it would be better for you to get extremes. They ARE more useful than claws. Sure claws you spec. However with extremes you hit higher, more often and what not. And claw are NOT better than herb in most cases ;) You will speed up your tasks more using extremes than claws. Skills > Weapons. Skills last forever ;) weapons..... well, they don't.

Semi afk Training
Ah I forgot the ring as I generally wear RoL. Anyways, I'd actually say Fire Cape > SW Cape in this situation. Sure the cape would conserve prayer; but with an altar above you it doesn't take too long to pray. The attack and strength bonus come in more handy against these due to this. If you had to use prayer pots then for sure use SW cape. Overkill here where fire cape basically has one of it's only uses left.

Should I Sell Claws ???
Thanks very much for the opinions :) here are my answers. 1) I VERY RARELY get dragon tasks because I use Summona as my Slayer Master. Therefore Dragon Claws are most of the time a faster way of using my spec bar 2) On tasks that i struggle i simply bring a super set and my Bunyip. I do sometimes wish that i had more defence though so that i could tank black demons and such. 3) I generally make about 50-100k. but it is not about income it is about gettin rid of junk that won't sell on ge :) So wadya think ? 1) Sseil covered this pretty well. D claws uses seem to primarily lay with boss hunting and PKing where you need a high offensive weapon, whereas they're overkill in slayer. Seeing as you use summona too that goes in favour of selling the claws purely for the fact that you don't use kuradals dungeon. Therefore another aspect of them being used for slayer is lost. From what i mostly hear, and alot of what I've read in this task it seems that claws are only useful for slayer in Kura's dungeon mostly due to the +40 damage on all 4 specs. Therefore DDS on any other slayer master is efficient enough. 2) The extra defence of the DFS is good. You might find that you fall in love with the shield like the many people who do buy it too. Also there are +2 extra strength bonus. It could be a bit better with yours levels than a defender maybe. Sure you lose the attack bonus's but you gain perhaps one of the best tanking shields in the games by substituting the defender for DFS. 3) So therefore you aren't gaining or losing anything then technically. But all junk eventually sells on GE...... apart from rune darts I get as drops from steels and irons <.< but it just takes time and patience. Ok. I feel like saving up for a Dfs would be wiser than selling Claws for them. Since i do not require a high defence bonus at the immediate present. go for it. sounds like a plan.

Full Dragon or Barrows
I couldn't say it better :) I never liked dragon anyway, and barrows is cheaper than d plate/chain + it has way better def (torag plate & legs has highest melee def) If you repair at your playerowned house it's cheapest. I do it everytime my armor reaches 25. The higher your smithing level, the cheaper the repairs are! :) Good luck! Agreed =] Also, Dharoks Pl8 + Legs, Torag Pl8 + Legs have the same defence. Verac Skirt and Torag/Dh legs have same defence with the exception V skirt has 0 negative mage def to the -4 of torag legs and t legs have 92 range defence to V skirt's 84. Don't forget the V skirt has +4 prayer bonus which is 1 less than prosy legs.

Whats better, full void or full aramadyal?
This. And as you said you're not planning on cannoning or chinning then there's no point in void really. Go with the armadyl. However I strongly recommend that if you go along the slayer route that you do invest in a cannon as it can boost your ranged XP by quite alot.

Semi afk Training
I'd argue that Armoured Zombies are better. (though, I won't actually argue... I'm too lazy) :^_^: You might be too lazy :P I'm not. A-Z's for sure are much better to AFK-train on. You hardly need to take notice of the screen. Too many times with 99 defence recently I find that a yip can't keep up with damage I take from daggonoths because of this constitution update <.< But anyways I'm not here to rant. Armoured zombies: 1) Best melee exp in game generally if you're lucky and find a non-crowded world. 2) AFK-able with an altar in easy reach and a safespot for logging out in. 3) Good charms. The blues these drop are insane. I found that I was getting about 2 blues for 1 charm of different colour. 4) Drops are noted therefore all you need is placeholders. With piety, pure set and yip you can survive down there in just prosy easily and that therefore negates the need for food. With mage I'd say go with the idea of the metal dragons. Maybe even do abyssal demons perhaps. Armoured zombies setup: Helm: Neitz Cape: Fire/SW/Skill (t) Body: Prosy/Bandos Legs: Prosy/Bandos Boots: Dragon Ammy: Salve(e)/Fury/glory Gloves: Barrows Weapon: Whip/SS Shield: Defender/DFS Quiver: 1 Mithril arrow Bunyip summoned Invo: DBA + Restore Pot/Super strength Super Attack 1 of each noted plank they drop (I forget which, but methinks it's normal, oak and teak) 1 coin Games neck (banking) 1 of each charm Maybe some cheap food if you find after the first few trips you get hit a bit. Pray Piety obviously, and also put on double HP restore prayer if you find you're getting hit. Pick up most herbs they drop, and you'll find that with 1 or 2 specs/sips of pot you'll be banking with the herbs, planks, charms collected etc. I made 17m from this over about 5 weeks maybe more :) wasn't too bad, but I missed the slayer exp.

Should I Sell Claws ???
This complicates the situation. 1) I do not have spec restore O_O 2) I am wondering wether my dfs will just gather dust in my bank like you said, because of Rune Defender 3) Dragon Claws are amazing because i can lend them for all the junk i gather from tasks... you can't lend a dfs =/ What are your opinions, following the statements i made? My opinions are thus: 1) Do you then feel that D claws are still better than a DDS? Or do you think that on tasks why bother banking it for another spec weapon? (specifically talking about dragon tasks here where you can't use D claws, there may be others). 2) Are you going to use the rune defender all the time? Are there any tasks you struggle on and need the extra defence and also what is the rate of dragon tasks you get given/kill in your own time? 3) How much income can you generally make off lending D claws then?

Should I Sell Claws ???
You do realize that rune defender is MUCH better for slayer... right? Okay so after reading your posts i realised that the main debate is this: Are Claws better than DDS in most situations? Is DFS better than Rune Defender in most situations? The answer to these two questions is probably the key to which one is worth more buying. Thanks for the huge amount of help i really appreciate it :) If you can't make spec restores IMO go with the DDS for slayer. The only real situations where I'd say claws are better may be Kuradals dungeon without them; however spec restores make them worthwhile to have. DFS is only better for tanking tasks you know you'll take alot of damage on. The defence bonus's are epic. I'd even hazard a guess to say that DFS > Rune defender for boss hunting mostly. But then again people then say Spectral SS > DFS for boss hunting. So referring to my other post - which will you use more? DFS and tank tasks and do dragon tasks etc? Or claws which you'll only be able to use every 5 mins? To me DFS seems superior until you get spec restores. However, that's only my opinion. (yes i realised I have contradicted myself from my other post before)

Should I Sell Claws ???
I'd say keep the claws. DFS's are epic and I love mine alot; however now it's starting to gather dust in my bank I'm growing unsure of it's uses. I do love it to bits though and got it when they were 17m all those months back in July. Claws are very nice for PvM and boss hunting and such ONLY if you have spec restores; otherwise, DDS is perfect or you could be wasting valuable inventory space. Therefore it boils down to this - which will you use more? Will you actually change your whip and defender to claws every 5 mins to spec? Will you actually use the spec? Or will you rather a shield that will let you tank tasks you may struggle on more easily? The only other real thing that goes in the DFS favour is that it's hawt <3: And claws are like a failed wolverine impression. Anyways, make your decision on which you'll use more. Not what we say >.><.< you were born with A. A brian. B. A mind in the brain. C. Free will to make your own choices. Therefore do what you wish :)

Abyssal Demons
Slay. End of. Really. It is much more useful to get your slayer higher than 85. I promised myself I'd camp till I'm 90 melees. Am I camping? No, I now want 90 slayer, and demons bore me.

best ranged gear
Don't forget if you're slaying then go with the full slayer helm. But these guys have it right. Money to burn = Armadyl best bet. Time to burn = Void. Nothing = what you have.

Fishing to 99
Some people think about doing Cavefish too. I have tried them and have found the exp/hr to rival that of monks, sometimes coming higher, sometimes lower, depending how lucky you are with rock creatures and stuff. It may seem longer but it's less fish to catch per level? Also the gp compared to the monkfish is much better. So for a roughly the same exp rate and good gp go for it if you feel like it. But yea, Qeltar is good with figures so that's your monkfish hours sorted. However, bladewing is correct in saying Barbarian fishing is the quickest and best method reaching ~55K/hr I hear. Then again as Lowc says - monkfish till rockfish will help max gp. But then you could Monkfish till Cave till Rock and max gp even more! :D Your choice. Happy fishing.

What weapon to use for kalphite slayer tasks?
They hate it because of the crappy charms and drops. The only Kalphite that seems to be worth killing is the queen. The only reason I haven't blocked them is because I rarely get them assigned, and I NEED the range exp. Cannoning the soldiers is easy enough though. I make ~5K from that task is picking up the coin drops and that's about it. No high level slayer master should give tasks that only make ~5K xD OT: Whip + Defender + Cannon, if you're doing the task. However only do it if you're desperate for any exp. otherwise Cpt has illustrated the most effective weapon on them.

FireCape Setup help
I seem to remember that the advice was not to suicide with mage pray on. More along the lines of keeping Mage pray on and only switching to range pray when Jad stomps the ground. Effectively reducing the amount of stress and clicking, and lack of life, too. Thanks for correcting me :) I only thought she said mage pray. Anyways, go with the above edit by mega :D

FireCape Setup help
I got my cape with 85 defence and 75 range :P I took only a total of ~30-40 damage going through the waves so yea :D with 99 defence the waves will be a walk in the park for you. anyways your setup seems to be awesome and sounds alright; however I welfared mine :P MSB + Rune arrows ftw! I was actually only aiming for the ketzeks. But ya, good luck with it! The only problem is jad and the switching; however, a little sneaky, if not a tad suicidal tip, from Lala (the mod on here, or atleast I think she's a mod); but pray mage on jad and just hope to god that his range attack doesn't hurt as badly. Not saying this is advised; but it could be tried? And then again think of all those people who're now proving you don't need protect prayers for him now :) But keep going matey and don't get discouraged! I wana see that fire cape!

I agree with this. In another sense this to me feels like another week of wasted membership..... Oh well, those robes are good.

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Response : Wildly? hmmm... *cough*pointstoagazillionnewskillthreads*cough* That's the speculating wildly. However, let me guess, you picked out WILD. And therefore alot of people on RSOF and the trolls on here will be all like: "AMGGGGGGG WILD!!!!! HE SAID WILD!!!! THAT MEANZ TAT OLD WILDY WILL B BAKKKK!!!!!! AMG AMG AMG" Correct?

New Skill Tomorrow??
Just because the USA is on holiday doesn't mean that all the games companies will stand to attention and deliver something. Jagex are British, so therefore they'll base themselves on the British holiday's not American IMO, otherwise most people will just think they're selling out and becoming an Americanised British company and I'd really hate that to happen. This is the last week of school/college/uni for pretty much everyone in the UK so therefore after next week will be prime time; however the Easter event will come then. TBF I'd say they'll co-ordinate it with the end of term for everyone, which is ~end of june usually. It's probably a much safer bet to release it then when they'll receive an influx of kids and adults playing more. My 2 cents: Wait till June and see. It's not that hard, and it's not too far away.

New Skill Tomorrow??
I only read the title...... Is what MMG said....... therefore..... we have 2-3 more months before starting to get hyper for it. I will read your finds and adjust my reply accordingly. 1. yes we did have mod Fnord say that the xp weekend would be before the new skill came out the the weekend would be a way for members to train and "toughen up". However, it does not mean anything for the release of the skill. They did screw up the system, and if they did it on purpose why release a new skill when people "have missed out" on exp? They'll probably do another before the new skill. 2. Mod Emilee was on holiday (or *shudders* vacation for those Americans amongst us) However you do address that later. 3. It is not needed for the new skill in any way. You read what the mods said and they said it was mostly for new players being able to hit more and stop being discouraged. Also allows them to re-work the combat triangle and some skills. Add new potions, armours, weapons and the like. This will come before the new skill as otherwise why release constitution that might need additional updates like armour etc before the new skill? 4. You're inferring too much. it's just like when those infernal mods said "it'll be released in a month with atleast 28 days" and everyone on here and RSOF went hyper for a day thinking it would be in February before remembering after their haste that all months on the calendar have 28 days. And again look at above post. they need to re-work the cb triangle, add new weapons and armour they promised etc before the new skill 5. Again too many conclusions jumped to :wall: Just because F2P get an update doesn't mean the new skill :wall: The update was to be an introduction to F2P to counter the major loss of tutorial island. What better way to get new players involved than to put them into a tutorial where they basically just do a bit of skilling and then send them towards a quest that teaches them combat? Thus killing THREE birds with one stone! 6. Could be anything to do with fishing. Could be new ways to catch new food. You just don't know yet. Why the hell would they talk about an already established and epic skill before releasing the new one. Jagex are British yes, but they do atleast have some common sense like the rest of us Brits! Fishing guild rework has been in the pipeline for ages. 7. Kudos seems to me to pretty much mostly be a member based thing as don't forget you need to do things like find artefacts and crap like that and tell stories and do quests to get kudos. Most of which F2P can't do. So therefore I doubt it's related to the new skill unless they decide to release pretty much everything members to F2P to let them get kudos. Pointless Point ftw? 8. Um...... so..... from april to october people stay in more? Yeah?........ ummm, y'know..... does anyone ever look up into that great big blue thing and look at the great massive flaming ball of gases? yes? That's the sun. it comes out between mostly april and october and then goes away during winter. The thing when the sun comes out is called - SUMMER. People go out during summer. 9. This is perhaps the only credible point I can't come back on. =D> Congratulate yourself. 10. And just because a Jmod doesn't log in doesn't mean the new bloody skill will come out :wall: They don't live in jagex. it is their job to develop stuff and create content not just play the game. Now..... If it wasn't for my insomnia I wouldn't have written this..... but still..... thanks for helping me kill half an hour and your post
