Loves power and influence over People
Zierro, you're missing the point of what I'm trying to say and I'm sorry that I cannot express it better for both you and everyone else reading this. Perhaps it is simply that love, as an intangible, cannot be put into nice little categories that everyone can recognize and identify with. In my experience, there seem to be differing degrees of love and everyone experiences them in their own way. I truly hope that you will one day experience the same love for your children that I have for mine. Perhaps it is something that cannot be properly explained, but needs to be experienced for one to fully understand. I wasn't trying to make obligations out to be anything horrible. They are something we all have to contend with. I was merely trying to explain the difference between a willing sacrifice (ie: something done of your own will without the influence of outside forces) and an obligatory relinquishing of time/money/self/etc... (ie: something done, again, of your own will but with outside influences).

Why female players are underepresented in RuneScape?
 What is it with all of the ignorance towards women today? Women play "simple" games like Minesweeper? Are you kidding me? The whole lot of you need to just take your oppressive , misogynistic ways back to the 1800's and buy yourselves a nice wife and some slaves you can whip. :x

members right? Unless he's referring to iron throwing knives, which are members, I think he might have meant iron daggers.

Dutch, like me, is F2P. Unfortunately, we can't make cannonballs.

To break even with Smithing
Not if you bought any of the materials. If you actually smith the bars you will make much more Xp but only half the money you would just selling the bars.

Not everyone on a ship is a military trained combat veteran you know. Despite what you may have seen in movies, most sailors are simply that: sailors. It's their job. Do you have to go to work with a gun? Yes, there is the risk of being attacked by pirates. I could get mugged walking to the store, does that mean I should carry a gun? Besides, not every country allows their sailors to carry weapons. I read once that the Russian government hasn't allowed either their navy or merchant marine sailors to carry small arms since the mutiny on the battleship Potemkin in 1905. Officers, yes, but not the rank-and-file seamen.

What? :-s Have you been reading this thread at all? It isn't 20 years ago you know. There are just as many computer literate girls as guys. I doubt that. But the learning capability is the same I suppose. You "suppose"?????? ...I can hardly believe the ignorance of that statement. I didn't realize that we had suddenly gone back in time a hundred years. Of course women and men have the same capability for learning, be it computers or anything else.

Loves power and influence over People
Or out of the fear of being charged with child neglect. And an obligation doesn't necessarily need a tangible agreement to be considered an obligation. Here's a nice definition: something (as a formal contract, a promise, or the demands of conscience or custom) that obligates one to a course of action Your conscience can make you obligated to do something and so can customs. For example, some parents sacrifice for their children only because that's what they see everyone else doing - it's a custom. Some parents do it because they don't want to feel like a bad person - your conscience speaking. Doing something out of fear of being arrested is hardly an expression of love. When you love someone, you do things for them because you *want* to not because the state dictates you *have* to. Doing something out of the dictates of conscience or custom is, once again, doing it because you feel you have to not because you want to. Yes, many people pay their child support and see their kids every other weekend only because that's what the agreement with their ex says they have to do. These people only do the absolute minimum they can do without getting into trouble. That's hardly doing something out of love for their children, and it's definitely not sacrificing. People do not sacrifice out of some sense of conscience or custom either. If those are the only driving forces, they also do as little as possible. If the only reason you do something is because someone else told you to, then they do only what they have to. Who said "family"? BlueLancer and I were referring to the unconditional love you have for your children. The love you have for your family members is definitely not the same as the love you have for your spouse, and even that is different from the love you feel for your children. Love is not an "obligation". If it feels that way, then you've done something wrong. From your statements, I assume that you have no children of your own. I have two wonderful children that I would, and have, gladly give up anything for. The love of a child is unconditional. Anyone who does anything for their children out of obligation or custom does not love them. They simply think it makes them a better person to do what everyone else thinks is right.

I'm kind of amazed that the U.S. Navy and the SEAL team CO had to stones to issue the kill order...maybe I've just gotten used to the apathy and inability to take action of the Canadian government. That's not to say the Canadian soldiers wouldn't do it (my dad's best friend was member of our Airborne unit before it was disbanded...badass is an understatement), but our powers that be just don't have the stomach for that sort of thing anymore. I'm glad that it came to a successful (for the hostages at least) resolution. As much as I am an advocate of peaceful negotiation, I also realize that not everyone is as willing to solve things peacefully. Sometimes you just have to kick [wagon] and take names. Hoo yah!

Mining Rune
Getting a full load in an hour is easy. I can get a full load in about 30 minutes in the Light Temple (full being the 22 spaces I have free when I'm mining there). So, I would say that if you use the Light Temple, about 12 hours. I've heard of similar rates at the wildy. Either way it's insane money. Wilderness could be faster because less time is spent hopping worlds. I know I can get 45 ores in an hour if I went for max efficiency; a more realistic figure would be around 40 for normal conditions. That's 624k an hour for normal conditions, 702k an hour for max efficiency. Wilderness could be faster, but the amount of time it would take to bank and the chance of dying to revenants with a full inventory of runite makes it much less attractive. Unfortunately for F2P, wilderness mining is the only option. I can average a load an hour there, but I've had it take as little as 35 minutes (I got *really* lucky on that one :D )

Loves power and influence over People
I see that as more of an obligation. I find it more amazing how two strangers can meet and fall in love. An obligation is something you do because you have agreed to. You pay your mortgage out of obligation, you sacrifice for your children out of love.

HAPPY EASTER!
Great minds think alike and/or experimental mind control drugs being tested by the government. Great minds may think alike, but fools seldom differ. I spent the last two days cleaning my house because my mother is coming for dinner tonight. Yes, my house was that much of a mess. I'm a single guy who lives alone. Martha Stewart I ain't. Happy Zombie Jesus day everyone! you so stole that from me. Which part? I thought the only thing I took from another post was "Zombie Jesus Day". I apologize if I unknowingly stole something from you.

Loves power and influence over People
I once gave up smoking for a girlfriend. We were together for almost two years after that, and when we broke up I was so depressed that I went back to it stronger than ever (from a half pack a day when I quit to a full pack after we split up). That wasn't her fault of course, it was my own lack of will power, but it illustrates how strong emotions like love, can influence your life for better and for worse. Trapical, maybe you should rename the thread "Love's power and influence over people" if you don't want to give people the wrong impression.

Skiller Stats
Power mining is vary hard to do in F2P I agree... but i still manage a way to get 17k xp an hr on iron ore.. which is really slow... If you can get a spot on a nearly full world (1900+ people), and if you can one-hit the iron of course, you can get twice that much Xp...and, from what I've read, that's still only half of what you can get mining granite. :wall:

Skiller Stats
Definitely Mining. It's difficult to raise to a high level for both members and F2P, but it's twice as hard for F2P due to a lower number of powermining locations (which are always crowded) and no access to granite.

Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
LEVEL 87 BABY! :twss: AND THE HITS JUST KEEP ON COMING! [hide=Happy Easter to me!][/hide]I almost made it last night. At midnight I only had 30k Xp to go but I was exhausted and knew that the kids would get me up early today so I decided to go to bed. I made a sprint to the end in about 45 minutes this morning as I got really lucky and found that the Rimmington mine on world 1 was practically empty despite the world being full. I guess everyone was doing the Easter event. I figure it will take me most of the week to get to 88, but I'll be crossing the 4 million Xp mark later tonight! \ I probably won't be able to get on anymore today until after the kids go to bed because my mother is coming for dinner tonight and I need to spend the rest of the day cleaning the disaster area that is my kitchen. Hey, I'm a single guy who lives alone...Martha Stewart I ain't. Thanks. It *is* pretty tedious at times, especially since iron only gives about half the Xp/hour of granite (from what I've been reading). Still, it gives me something mindless to do when I've had a long day at work and a long term goal to work towards that helps keep me interested in the game. I usually play for a couple of weeks, stop for a while (that's why I missed the Thanksgiving event) and then come back for a couple of more weeks. I figure that by the time I reach 99, it will have been the longest continuous stretch I've ever played RuneScape. Oh well, no more procrastinating...I've got a kitchen to clean! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
