  1. A gift from the Almighty Himself! That would explain why baths are so awesome. :D So are the followers of Zaros lying, or just confused? :P All these guides have been excellent reading. Thanks to 999134 for putting you guys up to this.
  2. Specifically, when your weapon is sheathed you will display your total skill level and when your weapon is drawn your combat level is displayed.
  3. Time for my first real EoC update, and it's a big one so here we go. Lessers are definitely the way to go for Ranged. I've been there for two days, and gotten levels galore! So let's get the pictures out of the way, and then talk about it, shall we? [hide=59 Constitution] [/hide] [hide=42 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=43 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=44 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=45 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=46 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=47 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=48 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=49 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=50 Ranged] [/hide] Goodness, a lot of stuff unlocks at level 50. But did you notice how much of it was F2P? ;) Not to brag or anything, but I did all of that in just one night! I started with Warped Bats in the Lumbridge Catacombs just to get a feel for it and then decided to see how Lessers would go. And, as you can see, go they did. I used a Maple shortbow with Mithril arrows and I bought a sheildbow, mostly out of curiosity to see how they compared, but turned out to be a very lucky choice as the Rejuvenate ability allowed me to keep fighting as long as I liked without needing food. I was also using Accursed Urns to collect the ashes, which was really nice as I didn't have to worry about picking them up and then spend time scattering them. I also used my Explorer's ring to high alch the drops, and quickly got a good feel for what was worth picking up and what wasn't. I was enjoying it so much, that last night I bought Magic short and shield bows, Rune arrows and a blue d'hide coif to complete my ensemble, and went back to get even more levels: [hide=51 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=60 Constitution] [/hide] [hide=52 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=53 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=54 Ranged] [/hide] [hide=63 Prayer] [/hide] [hide=55 Ranged] [/hide] Hmm...55 has a similar unlock pattern to 50. Oh well, at least I can now use a Gravite shortbow should I desire. I think I'll keep with Ranged until 60. It's loads of fun, but I'm sure my clanmates are getting a bit tired of my constant leveling. Besides, I've been neglecting my superheating and really must get back to it. Especially now that I have a shiny new elemental staff that I can change the active element in at will. What? Did I not mention? I did the new Rune Mysteries quest last night as well. Snagged myself a new title too, "the Red", which goes nicely with my TFS cape and the black and red armor I tend to run around in. |^_^| The reworked quest is very well done, even if it doesn't make any real mention of the essence mine or how one gets to it, and the new Wizard's Tower is very impressive. It really gives a feeling of size and scale now. Grandeur, even. It might be even more impressive than the reworked Al Kharid. I'd have been even more impressed though if it hadn't kept freezing on "Loading 50%" every time I changed locations or had to view a cutscene (which, during the quest, happens a lot btw) and required reloading the game. It really shouldn't take over 2 hours to do a beginner level quest classified as "short". :wall: At least I didn't miss any of it. Every time the game locked up and had to be reloaded, it started me exactly where I had stopped so I still got to see all the cutscenes, which was nice. Okay, I've rambled long enough here. Don't worry though, I spent so much time making this post I didn't have time to do anything today but log in for my daily SoF spin. So I shan't be deluging you with long winded posts full of level ups tomorrow. However, I make no promises about the end of the weekend. :P Until next time, blog lovers!
  4. Time for my first post-EoC update as well.

Today I came home to a rather bad smell that turned out to be my dog's way of saying I came home too late. :? I can't really blame her, but it's not the most pleasant of welcome homes.
  6. Should make a buggy w/ a ride on mower engine, and equip some sort of plow, OR a ride on mower with a spitter on the back for snow. eh? eh? Or just do what I did and have kids. It's a long term plan that's only just recently started to come to fruition, but I didn't have children to still have to out and cut the grass or shovel snow.
  7. Will that still work in the EoC?
  8. decebal is right. I was ranging Lessers for about 3 hours last night and only lost 100 or so arrows. And that's without pre-targeting (I'm too used to just clicking when I attack a creature :P).
  9. Welcome to TIF! ;) Glad to see you didn't let your medical issues stop you from (eventually) finishing school.
  10. Methinks you meant to post that in the "things that annoy you" thread, highlanders. ;)
  11. Thanks for the tip but, unfortunately, RS will only run for me in OpenGL mode. Both software and DirectX modes simply cause it to crash. :(
  12. It really depends on the company. I've seen the proper people get promoted, and I've seen truly talented people be passed over for someone less qualified because they were either deemed too valuable to promote (yes, there is such a thing as being too good at your job), or the other person was just better at playing the office politics. Yes, managers have people they report to, but as long as their department is performing at an acceptable level the higher ups tend to leave them alone. And going over your boss's head to complain won't get you anything but a label as a troublemaker which then leads to them finding any excuse at all to get rid of you (I've seen that happen as well). After all, your boss's job is to deal with you so his boss really isn't interested in your complaints.
  13. Yes, twice. And if I have to watch that damn Windows 8 ad again I'm going to shoot myself (I really hate that song). Edit: I got in, finally. Now to finish this before it tries to load anything else. Edit 2: scratch that...I didn't even make it out of the room with the rune guardian. :wall:
  14. I can't even get it to load the tower basement. I'm on my fourth try (and this will be the second in safe mode) and it still won't load past 50%. :wall: I better not have to start this whole thing over again.
  15. Ceremonial swords can be a [bleep], can't they? The best I've ever done is 95%.

Today I got stuck on a site after they pulled my driver (yes, I've been referring to the other tech I'm riding with as my chauffeur just to bug him ) for an emergency that took longer than expected. While waiting, I chatted up a very pretty redhead with gorgeous green eyes who was waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up. This was really out of character for me, as normally I can't string together two sentences at a time the first time I meet a pretty girl. Although, it has been some time since I last tried. Maybe I really have become a cocky sob. :P
  17. Lessers are now weak to ranged, specifically bolts. I'm pretty sure our options for crossbows are still pretty limited, so the best setup would be: Blue d'hide coif Blue d'hide top, bottom and vembraces. Batwing boots Power amulet Explorer's Ring (optional, it gives a +2 Prayer boost and allows you to high alch drops) Magic shieldbow and/or shortbow Rune arrows. Adjust appropriately if you don't have 50 Ranged for the magic bow and rune arrows. I killed them yesterday from 42-50 using a maple bow and mithril arrows, swapping to a maple shieldbow when I needed to use rejuvenate. The magic shieldbow has lower attack than the shortbow, but allows you to use rejuvenate so you don't need to bring food. Edit: btw - you can gain defense xp using ranged. I honestly don't know if we could before, it's been years since I trained combat outside of daemonheim.

And people would still get it wrong. And they'll still give those people a license, as long as they didn't get too many wrong. Is it any wonder accidents are on the rise?
  19. This all looks great. I can't wait to get home and do the new quest. I can almost hear my poor old laptop crying just looking at pictures of the new tower.
  20. From today's patch notes: Dungeoneering NPCs have been tweaked to hit a bit harder. Dungeoneering skill doors now hit players a bit harder. Good thing you got those DG levels while you could. :P
  21. I just finished reading Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (I know, heavy stuff eh?). The SW parody webcomic Blue Milk Special is almost finished with Empire and I wanted to brush up before they start making fun of it. :P
  22. What are you using to try and view it, jay? Any info you can give them will help point them in right direction.
  23. I heard that it had been removed when they released the EoC.
  24. Wait, you and Tans in a tub? Together? The world is a scary place, Hobbs.
