  1. Don't fight the love.
  2. Welcome. :) Glad to see you've decided to become more active in our little asylum community.
  3. Damn. Now I'll have to get back to Runespan and build up my stockpile of ess again.
  4. Apparently when I said I was hoping for "another level or two" this weekend, what I really meant was four. [hide=76 Runecrafting] [/hide] [hide=77 Runecrafting] [/hide] [hide=78 Runecrafting] [/hide] [hide=79 Runecrafting] [/hide] Not bad for 6 days of hanging out in Runespan. ;) I got over a million RC xp this week. Let's see it I can do it again! This morning, I was driving to my first job when some idiot in a BMW pulled right out in front of me. I had no time to stop and crashed right into his driver side door. We were both okay, but both vehicles were cracked up pretty good. Fortunately, the officer who responded decided that he was at fault (and he was, I had the right of way) and even gave him a ticket for it! But now the front of my nice new truck (which I've had for about six months) is all smashed in, the tire is flat and the radiator is leaking. On top of that I'll be without a vehicle for work for who knows how long. Here's what it looks like: [hide] [/hide] :( Oh yeah, today was also the day that my ex-girlfriend came to pick up her dog and the rest of her stuff so when I got home I had one less dog to greet me, a few less pieces of furniture and a lot less cookware. Mondays. :wall:

Here's what my poor truck looks like. :( (had to wait until I got home to upload it) Hard to believe the side of a BMW 325 did that.
  6. Congratulations, Ari!
  7. It was a good script when they used it for Dances With Wolves. Watched Battleship yesterday and it was much better than I thought it was going to be. Some funny bits and lots of stuff going boom. My kind of movie.

Exactly. Like my boss says, it's steel and plastic and why we have insurance.
  9. Dag. Here it's $10.75.

This morning some idiot in a BMW tried to pull out through traffic and in front of my truck. Everyone's ok, but the front of my nice new truck (I've had it less than 6 months) is smashed in, the tire is flat and there's a leak in the radiator. Now I'm waiting at the body shop for someone to pick me up and I'll be without a vehicle for work for God knows how long. At least the officer declared it his fault. She even wrote him a ticket for it. To top it all off, today's the day my ex girlfriend is coming over to pick up her dog and what's left of her stuff. So how's your Monday going?

It's a hard thing to get over. I've been battling with it my entire life. It's that control freak part of me going "ohmygodwhatdoidowheredoigoisthistherightfork...". I've slowly been getting better at it as I get older. The trick seems to be remembering that most other people are just as nervous as you are, so don't worry. Relax and try to enjoy yourself. Just remember that you are Star, and you are awesome. :)
  12. That must be after taxes.

I also now use a butter knife to separate frozen hamburgers after slicing my thumb open with a paring knife. I guess it's more common than I realized.
  14. Just the "the Stuffed" title as far as I can see. Almost as bad as the year the reward was a turkey logo for the herald capes. <_<
  15. Why wasn't Tip.It included in the scavenger hunt? :-s And why can we only hunt the turkeys at specific times of the day, and only on specific worlds?
  16. Congratulations! =D>

I once had a work-issued Samsung phone that I dropped in gasoline...twice. Both times I fished it out, pulled the battery and left it on the heating vent in my truck for the rest of the day and it worked fine. It finally died when I dropped it and broke the display.
  18. Congratulations, Stones Boy!
  19. Congrats on killing Nomad! Good luck with the caves.
  20. I'm a petroleum mechanic. Which is just a fancy way of saying that I repair, maintain, install, kick, curse and generally MacGyver gas pumps and their related control systems into working.
  21. Runespan has been going great! I've gained three more levels so far and I should hit another one later tonight. [hide=73 Runecrafting] [/hide] [hide=74 Runecrafting] [/hide] [hide=75 Runecrafting] [/hide] I don't know how much time I'll have over the weekend, but I'm hoping I can get another level or two.
  22. People who have no idea how their own freaking products work. Notably, design engineers and software programmers, who seem to know less than I do about something they spent months creating and I've had all of a few hours to look at. I actually had the following conversation with an engineer a couple of weeks ago: "It's doing X." "That's impossible. It can't do X." "I'm telling you it is. I'm watching it do it right now." "Nope. You obviously don't understand anything about these pumps." "Excuse me?" "Have somebody more experienced look at it and call me back." I've been doing this for nearly 12 years. <_< And when I finally figured the problem out... "The wiring setup was causing interference I fixed X by doing Y." "No, that's impossible. There's no way it was causing interference. We tested it before putting them in the field." "But it's working properly now. You might want to look into it." "You don't know what you're talking about." ...and on and on like that. This morning there was a technical release from that company describing not only this very problem, BUT RECOMMENDED MY SOLUTION TO FIX IT! The thing that really gets me is that he probably makes at least twice as much as I do. :wall:
