  1. Damn, man. I thought for sure you weren't going to make 99 Craft before the 20th. Early congrats!

I got up early today and was on the road by 6:30am because I had to go way out of town for a job and wanted to make sure I was back in time to pick up my kids. Then my ex called around 8:30 to remind me that they were going to her brother's for dinner and I was picking them up late. :wall: Oh well, now I have a bit of extra time to do a couple of more jobs this afternoon. Not enough sleep, but extra overtime so I guess that's okay.
  3. I actually laughed reading about the Christmas event for the stray dog. Looks like an excellent year to come. Hopefully the Next Gen update won't bump the hardware req's up too much. I already can't run RS in anything but absolute minimum as it is. I wish they had been clearer on which of these will available to everyone and which will be members only (although, some are pretty obvious). Will non-mems be able to level up gear? Have access to either of the new skills? Do the God Statues D&D? "All" doesn't tell us much. And they had been so careful about being clear on this kind of thing ever since the Veteran's Cape debacle.
  4. Always good to see another TFS'er join. Welcome. :) Congrats on 1000 total.
  5. Congrats. Feels good the first time you destroy the mothership, doesn't it? :)

I've spent the day starting up new pumps, and now that everything is good to go (on time for once) the whole thing has come to a grinding halt while I wait for some mouth breather at Shell to call me back so I can have him dial into the system and reset the control files so the new pumps will go online. It's now been an hour since I last spoke to someone who assured me they would call me back "in 10 minutes". :wall: Screw it, I'm just going to call them again. Maybe this time I'll speak to someone who's parents weren't siblings. <_< (I don't have a lot of success with their so-called "help" desk) Why not just leave earlier?
  7. He's dead. That makes it even scarier. :ohnoes:
  8. What else is power for, if not to be abused used? :P
  9. I don't like the new look as much, but it's definitely less laggy for me now.
  10. My brain is an antelope and there's orange in your pyjamas for Tuesday.
  11. Ironically, McDonald's has one of the best management training programs around.

If Stephen Hawking can find a way to type, I'm sure you can too. :P
  13. Thanks, Med. |^_^| So, slight change of plans blog fans. I will not be diving into this week's Dungeoneering updates as originally planned. TFS's monthly skilling competition has started, and this month's skill is Runecrafting so I'll be spending the next fortnight in the semi-afk bliss known as Runespan! I was able to power my way through the last couple hundred thousand xp on Sunday (over 4k bars in a day!) and made it to 91 Magic and 92 Smithing before abandoning my position in G.E. for more technicolor surroundings. [hide=91 Magic] [/hide] [hide=92 Smithing] [/hide] I also managed to squeeze some more flipping in and now have over 145M in cold hard cash. \:D/ Pretty soon I'll be able to spend my days Scrooge McDuck'ing it up in my very own personal money vault. Oh, flipping will also be put on hold for the next little while as I really don't want to be running back and forth between the 'Span and the G.E.. Yes, I'm just that lazy. :P Last night's 'Spanning was very productive and I gained two more levels. [hide=71 Runecrafting] [/hide] [hide=72 Runecrafting] [/hide] Now let's see how many more I can get.
  14. Is there really much discussion value in this? Seems more like it should be in the questionnaires section. On topic - I'm so lazy, I've been playing for 7 years and only have one 99.
  15. If your sanity had truly stabilized, you wouldn't be going back to agility. :P
  16. Except it's members only. What about us poor non mems? :(
  17. "No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!"
  18. Aerosmith?!? Live?!? Text based words cannot describe the jealousy I'm feeling right now. :P
  19. Welcome to TIF! :) Only been playing 6 months? Noob. :P Sounds like you're getting the hang of it though. Don't be shy to ask any questions you might have. We have an entire section dedicated to answering each others questions. That is a most excellent way to celebrate one's arrival. Btw - there is an anime discussion thread in the Off Topic section. There's quite a few of us who are fans.

It wasn't so funny when it happened, but it's a great story. ;)
  21. Good luck to you all. Being part of the Tip.It team is a blast.
  22. That's only...let's see...carry the two...328k Craft xp a day! :o Better start cuing up the theme songs to every montage movie ever. :P
  23. That's ultimately the real problem, isn't it? I mean, how long have we had IP theft issues and how long has it taken the legal system to start to combat it (other than when the recording industry and multinational corporations pressure them into dealing with their specific problems)? It's like the people in charge have no idea what this is all about and so they're burying their heads in the sand until the problem becomes so rampant that they have no choice but to deal with it without fully realizing what it is they're dealing with. It's not unlike how print media, newspapers in particular, ignored the internet for two decades until it was almost too late.
  24. I have that problem with dreams about my ex-wife every so often. Sometimes they're nightmares, and sometimes they're very enjoyable ( ;)). Either way, they're always disturbing when I remember them in the morning.

Today, my boys and I had our annual discussion about Remembrance Day and why it's so important to not only remember those who fought for us, but to be thankful that we truly have no idea what war is really like. The last people in my family to go to war were my grandparents, along with several their brothers and sisters (yes "several", they both had very big families), in World War II. Even though my grandparents never saw combat (my grandfather was the navigator on a plane that took advance recon photos of areas they were not yet fighting in, and my grandmother was nurse at a recovery hospital for wounded soldiers), they were never willing to speak much about it, at least not to me anyway. Although, they were always happy to share the story of how they met at a dance while there, kept in contact until they were both shipped home and were married shortly after. What little I do know of their time overseas came from my mother and uncle which came from stories they were told by their aunts and uncles. My uncle was the source of this story (my mother felt was I was too young at the time to hear it): when one of my great-uncles, who was an infantryman, came home he locked himself in his room for 6 months refusing to speak to anyone and had to have meals brought to him. When he finally came out, the first place he went was to church. He spent more and more time there and eventually became a Minister. No one in the family knows where he was deployed, or what he saw when he was over there. From all accounts, he never once spoke of the war or what occurred there. I've heard similar stories of soldiers returning, but many did not end as well as his. I'm glad the church helped him make peace with his past. Unfortunately, as he lived very far away, the only time I ever met him was when he presided over my grandfather's funeral (my grandfather died of Parkinson's when I was 11). War is something that those who have never experienced it cannot understand. Frankly, it is something I hope that my children will always remain ignorant of.
