2nd September 2009 - Shops, RuneTek5, Autocasting, Patches
This is an awesome update is all I can say. Overall everything is    Can somebody explain what they did with shops though? I don't understand it. I get that the items are now set for a specific player, but what good is this for items that can't be bought in shops? Sorry for my ignorance, but I really didn't understand the GE update. Everything else is amazing, especially the magic update.

Tip.It Times: 23 Aug 2009
For the WoW article: I actually bought WoW about a week ago after watching the trailer for "Cataclysm". I'm a player who enjoys PvM, so WoW is pretty awesome for me. High levels get high level content on a regular basis, which is why I've been so disappointed with Runescape lately. I've reached some pretty high levels on my RS character, for what? Godwars is too easy IMO and the Corp beast is about the only end game (if you REALLY want to call it end game...) content we have. Most skills are unfinished, giving us nothing to work for but capes or ranks. It makes the game feel like a beta version. World of Warcraft is amazing, simply put. Their combat system is well thought out, skills tie together, you actually have stuff to work towards at high levels, better group support and great customer service to top it off (getting hacked or items lost to a glitch back, imagine that!). As for the Wake Up article or whatever it was called: I've really lost my faith in Jagex. Just as they try to reach out to the community, their game is suffering a streak of useful, but boring updates. As useful as any update can be, it doesn't give us anything new or exciting as a new dungeon. November has usually been their "big update" month, so I can only hope that we get something decent during November. As the article said, I won't be holding my breath, I'll actually probably be on WoW :P

WoW cataclysm and RuneScape
[hide=] Keldagrim. Tirannwn. (Lletya) Tree Gnome Stronghold, Tree Gnome Village. Well if you actually read what I posted you would see that I was suggesting new areas with new races specific to those new areas. therefor, I would like to see new races that are area specific. The dwarfs, elves and gnomes were examples. :D Well we're pretty much screwed on high level content. juglyx can't release high level content because they've hit the ceiling (for the most part). Adding better things to the game would, as people have said, be end game. They didn't plan that well in the early days of runescape and now its hard release things without screwing up the balance. like weapons with out accompanying armour to defend against the new weapons. for skill content lets take a look at smithing. The tables have been set from day one. What takes 99 smithing to make only requires 40 defense/attack to wear/weild. So smithing can't really be updated that much farther they have level 99 content that only yields items that are low level. High level content cant be released because they cant go any higher. and with that being true, while they continue to keep the game the same, more and more people reach the "high level" mark, which increases the demand for high level content. what I would really like to see is a new continent with increased skill caps OR with different skill sets (like spellbooks for skills). This would have to be fine tuned of course but there are many ways to go about this. -content exclusive items (ores, fish, trees, weapons, armour) -new items that can be used anywhere but with a balanced item-level progression -with skill cap increase we could make dragon items. level 100 for 1 bar dragon items, 101 for 2 bar etc. -tons of other stuff. lyl, spiroff <3 [/hide] I think you're right on with saying they've hit the ceiling. RS as I see it has been one massive fail for the most part that happens to be enjoyable to play. Think about it, the game feels like it's under beta construction more than it does actually finished. Most skills are left off at 75-80, quests are left at cliffhangers for years and we get updates smothered in bugs. Don't get me wrong I love RS but I think Jagex has put themselves in a major corner when it comes to high level content. Godswords as it is can hit into the 70's, and they are a level 75 weapon. If they were to release a 90 or 99 weapon, at the current power scale they would hit well over 99. What's jagex to do about that? The combat triangle is seriously out of balance, but they can never seem to get it to balance equally. The lack of armor variation is sickening, and the more I think about it the more I want to come back in 2 years and see how they've improved. The reason I decided to buy WoW is that when I watched that trailer, something about it made me excited, for a game I don't even play. I wanted to see the entire, massive World of Warcraft torn apart and graphically re worked, because that right there is exciting, epic content. Not Rag and Bone man 2 mega errand boy wishlist for a crap reward kind of content.

WoW cataclysm and RuneScape
I saw the trailer today and went out and bought all the WoW games and a time card. Not even kidding, and I'll explain why. Being a high level (136 combat and moderate skill levels) I feel like there is no support for high level content in the game, and haven't had any since around the time of While Guthix Sleeps. WoW is based on high level content. I feel like WoW does everything Runescape fails to do, and more. Take their customer support for example. My RL friend got hacked and lost his items, they were replaced in full by Blizzard. Looking at the Cataclysm expansion I can't wait to buy it. All they're making is high level content, not just noob 10 minute quests or little bug fixes, this is BIG stuff they're releasing. Godwars in RS is a joke, and almost the only high level PvM in the game. I'll keep my eye on Runescape and don't get me wrong on this post, I'm not saying Jagex needs to put out an update like this, because I really doubt they have the resources to. They're different games, but WoW comes out on top in my eyes after seeing that trailer.

Lol it's the holy wrench. I can't remember what quest it's from, but it makes you restore more prayer points whenever you sip a prayer pot.

20th August 2009 - RuneScape Q&A Player Support
[hide=] To me, it sounds like his question is: will you try to put a stop to AFK training? It appears that he is not directly asking for a affirmation/confirmation of the rules, but simply if they will be putting a stop to it, (his calling it a "problem" would hint at him knowing it was most likely against the rules). I don't need clarification because I don't really care. If people want to make this a rampant problem, it will only make the process for fixing it faster. So in short, he didn't answer the question ;) Coming after "many think that it is ok, since you don't stop them from doing it," I'm sure you can see how it could be interpreted as a request for clarification, regardless of the original intent. [/hide] No, I don't. He never asks for clarification. It's a statement, "many players think it's ok since you don't stop them from doing it". This is a true statement, but he follows up his background chat with his actual question, which is a yes or no question, that wasn't answered and that's the problem I had when I first posted on the topic. They answered his question with a statement that somewhat relates to the topic of AFK training, but not the actual question

I want to hear more than what I can look up on the rules page. Answers like this give NO new value to the reader Yes, we know it's against the rules. Are you going to try to stop AFK training? Well, we don't know because they didn't answer that. With as many questions as there were, they could have picked better ones than they did I'm sure.

Ah, this is just a big hint for the next new skill. A lot like agility, this skill will be called "bullet dodging" with the addition of guns to runescape. These guys are obviously 99 already  /Sarcasm

Summoning Familiars for Training
I'm going for 99 slayer, and with the recent familiar update I was thinking that on tasks I cannon I could bring a familiar for even faster xp. I'm 88 summoning, but I'm using a hydra atm for the range xp. I don't know if it's even worth it or if I should go with the rune minotaur. So I guess the question is what familiar should I use in the chaos tunnels and cannoning tasks to maximize speed?

10th August 2009 - Fur 'n' Seek (and Patch Notes)
No, they're aren't. They said they are not changing the exp reward and nothing else. It wasn't meant to be a D&D. I'm... confused. The way you worded that's a bit funny. Are you saying that they're not changing the experience and the thing drops nothing else or that all they've said is that they're not changing the experience? Either way, that sucks. Yes, I did word it poorly. They are not changing the exp reward nor are you going to rewarded anything else. It's just a thing to kill once a week. :wall: It just sucks. It took me four hours that day, and 4 tries of killing Bork to complete it

Yeah I really don't understand your wording there. They aren't changing the minimal XP you get from doing it weekly after the quest? Well, that's expected. But what I was thinking was maybe they would throw in something special for the 2nd time you kill it after the quest (a drop or something) and keep it out of the knowledge base until tonight, considering that wish list was ridiculous for such a crummy reward. Oh well I guess not

Has anyone killed the creature for this week yet? Maybe there are some other rewards we aren't aware of

The choice to choose a race in Runescape
I believe the topic was discussing the effects adding races could have on the game, and the possible outcomes. And I quote: That's what we were discussing, maybe you ought to get back on topic ;)

The choice to choose a race in Runescape
The biggest issue i see is the work on new items for each race. The result will we worth the work if you ask me. For those who say Runescape is not WoW and Runescape stands out because it's only 1 form. Tell me, if Runescape is supposed to be about human race why not just take all the bosses in-game: General Graardor, Commander Zilyana, Corporeal Beasts, KBD, KQ etc...and replace them with human "monsters" and see how much fun that would be. Like i suggested Michaael, the ability of the races will only be a SMALL bonus and i updated the hide tags and modified the abilities so that it will have smaller effect on the game. It also will cost you 100,000 GP every time you change a race. So i think if Jagex can manage to make this work, i suggest that they go for it. I think it's an awesome idea. They would just have a lot of work on their plate with emotes and armors. It's definitely doable though

The choice to choose a race in Runescape
If they can graphically overhaul the entire game, they could easily accommodate races. The question is if it's a realistic expectation, and whether or not it would upset the balance of the game.

The choice to choose a race in Runescape
Icyene's are said to have tempered the godsword and been an enemy to the vampire race. Maybe their ability could be to attack slightly faster with a godsword or deal more damage to vampire players?

The choice to choose a race in Runescape
Yeah, I like that idea. If it's only a cosmetic change it doesn't really matter, but I really like the abilities idea

The choice to choose a race in Runescape
It would be cool, but I really don't like the idea of being able to change into whatever, whenever. The ability to change your race once would be cool, but only if each race had very outlined features that were equally balanced. Like somebody said above me, we don't want people just choosing once race and leaving the other ones, or only using one race for one specific task. If there were different quest lines and outcomes determined by race, I think it could have a place in Runescape. But the whole idea of "well im done with magic so it's time to turn from an Elf to a Dwarf and go mine" really doesn't appeal to me. Just one transformation, with the opportunity to turn back to human once a month or something wouldn't be too bad, but multi race changing is a bit too much for me. Edit: If I did get to choose a race it would be an Icyene. They seem like an awesome race :
