Idk, Warhammer hasn't really stood out and made me want it yet. Maybe i'm just getting tired of switching MMO's because they end up sucking. Being made by EA this is not giving me high hopes. I truly dislike EA, i think they make horrible games now and havn't actively played an EA game since 2002 with Medal of Honor Allied Assault. This game looks VERY much like WoW to me. Maybe a few cherries in the basket to make it stand out more, but to me its WoW 2.0. Whoopie. If anything i'd play it because it has a lower monthy fee then every other game out there.

U.S. has a much higher rate of murders than Canada, and guess what, in Canada there's no death penalty. Ironic isn't it? I can't tell if you picked up on the sarcasm oozing from my post. In any case, I agree with your point. Retribution works in cycles, hence why it should not be the primary aim of a sentence. Which brings me to meol's question. The aims of prison should always be vindication (in order to make society safe) and rehabilitation (in order to ensure society remains safe once their time in prison is over). We can get as right-wing and militant about this as we like, but retribution simply does not work as an effective deterrent - the proof for this statement is in the stats me and sbrideau2000 have mentioned - and doesn't reform a man for his post-prison life. A lot of these guys in there are career criminals. That is their safe house, they can't be introduced back into society. They have adapted to prison life and thrive there. Thats why you have repeat offenders. I've been in there first hand, working for County law enforcement. A lot, most, of these people cannot or will not be rehabilitated. Some even get into fights just to be able to have their parole pushed back because they don't want to leave! You can throw time and money at rehabilitation programs all you want, but you might as well be throwing a ball to a dead dog. Juvenile systems? Sure put the rehabilitation programs there, theres usually a chance. But in state and county prisons, eh waste. Why rehabilitate those that commit crimes like rape, murder, child molestation? Do you seriously think they can turn around and walk on the street? Either way they are going to be in prison for most of the rest of their life. So why spend time rehabilitating cases that would actually death with the death penalty as an option? That'd be like turning a fighting dog loose again just because it had a couple obedience classes. The only criminals you have the chance of turning around are juveniles and petty crime adults. The only way i see rehabilitation working is first breaking up the prison lifestyle. Breaking up the gangs, the race wars, the groups. The guys up top are feeding the newer guys what they want them to do, it makes our job harder trying to rehabilitate because their head is filled with lies and one man's wishes. They have no chance once they've become involved in this. But in a lot of cases, to survive you have to get involved. Its a no win situation. Get rid of this, and rehabilitate. Until then, don't waste your time. :lol: :lol: :lol: Using being fat to get out of being put to death by lethal injection, fail. To give rapists, killers, and child molesters a way out. The main purpose of jail time is to give the accused another path of crime and corruption, both of which happens in jails and prisons across America. Not to mention extortion. Its just another avenue of approach.

I like that idea. The fire might take some of the fat off too, would make for much leaner cuts of meat when they get it in the kitchen.

Yes but if we have gun control and gun restrictions....LOL just kidding. ;) I say just use another means to execute, whoopie. Problem is Ohio is in a bind. Their only method of execution is Lethal Injection so its either go or no go. They'll probably end up going for it reguardless. All of them stall of course. The appeals process and process leading up to the execution can take years, thats why inmates sit on death row so long. Court systems are to backed up. We just had some electric chair executions recently in South Carolina. One in 2008 and one in 2004. First ones since 1996. 9 states offer Electric Chair 5 states offer Gas Chamber 2 states offer Hanging 2 states offer Firing Squad (These 2 only use Firing Squad if Injection is found to be unconstitutional or impractical) All have Lethal Injection as an option as well. Most states with these "primitive" forms of execution only authorize them if the accused is convicted before a certain date.

Yeah... that has a little something to do with warcraft copying the warhammer style so many years ago when they made warcraft 1. WAR is going to be further away from WoW then Age of Conan was, to be honest. It's a completely different focus and the game developers shun the people on their team from playing WoW as to not get "corrupted" by its ideas. Yeah but i mean just watching early videos on youtube and stuff it looked like wow save a few little things. Graphically wise at least. Eh i gotta do some reading. I wish i could make my own MMO.

I'm in the same boat many of you are in. I probably won't be playing much longer myself. Same reasons. I constantly disconnect, have graphical bugs, major server lag [bleep]es especially in town, etc. Like said above, the concept is amazing, the execution is now poor. We'll have to see what the future brings. I will not be going to Warhammer, doesn't seem like my kind of game. I'll have to find something new

Jesus freaking christ, where do YOU live? Guns HAVE to be at point blank range? Measure rooms in your house, your probably going to see an average of 10-12 feet across the room. Let me set up the scenario for you since you seem very dense. A suspect is across the room/down the hall creeping around your house, you walk into the room and he turns around....are you face to face? Nope. Multiple feet between you, not close enough for mace to do any good. This could go in a parking lot as well. You can see a guy running at you point a gun...what are you going to do spray mace and hope the wind blows in your favor? Sniping refers to shooting from a concealed place, in which no one can do anything about.

Oh yes my bad. Humane is more fit for a sentence included with deli meats. And ties it to the slaughterhouses where baby cows, sheep, etc are kept in pens they can't stand up in for months on end and continuously prodded with electrical sticks. Then they are taken and slaughtered to make you a great deli sandwich. A good hunter usually practices humane methods even if he doesn't know it. 1 shot 1 kill. A good burglar should have some sort of common sense. Even if you don't leave stuff lying around. Where do people usually keep money, jewelry, valuables. You would be surprised how common hiding places are for valuables. Its easy to smash the front door and be in and out in a matter of minutes. Its not like they house-sit the house overnight while "shopping". ^. Mace won't help at a distance, especially against a gun. Anyone with any sort of training (or on drugs) can withstand a punch after being maced. I fail to see the argument here. Unless its a punch to the groin i seriously doubt its going to render the subject incapable of continuing the attack. Someone said earlier in this thread that guns were the easy choice, or something along those lines. Your right, so why not choose it. Work smarter not harder. Y'all can throw around your nunchucks, ninja stars, mace, and be all kungfu all you want. But when you are thrown into a sudden life and death situation, are all those really going to help? No probably not, save the kungfu and only if you were trained in some sort of martial arts. And then you still have to gain control of the subject to choke them out. Personally though, i'm gonna continue carrying a gun to ASSURE myself protection.

Mace There are MANY people out there that can function after being sprayed. Heck i was trained to. And many police agencies do the same. Whats not to say a regular guy on the street can't? Mace is NOT self defense IMO. Just a resource to buy you a couple of seconds. Alarm System Smash and grab? And you said Burglary. Burglary refers to no one being there at the time. Why should you keep a gun? Because there is a difference between Burglury and Robbery. Robbery happens when someone is home and directly puts you and your kids in danger. If the aggressor is alone, i'd be willing to bet he has a weapon....they want to run the situation and don't count on you having a weapon as well. Even out the odds. Remember that scene from Indiana Jones, where the guy faces off with Indi with all the knives and fancy knife work? And then Indi just shoots him from several feet away? Exactly. What are you going to do with nothing, or maybe a baseball bat from several feet away against a gun? This is you with no gun vs a robber with a gun Oh and Burglary is done knowing no one is home or no one is in the store...they feel less threatened so they won't usually carry a weapon. Your neighborhood is not always what it seems. I live in a fairly high class neighborhood, yet 2 years ago they raided a meth/grow house 2 houses down from me. Just because you don't live in what appears to be "the ghetto" does not mean crime can't and won't find you.

Thats why you never heard politicians promising to withdrawl everyone at once. You just can't do it. Its a slow process. We are there right now because we have a civil duty to the citizens of the nation or Iraq. We can't come home until we further this. Make sure they are stable. So why aren't we withdrawing them "slowly" then? They want us out, they want a timetable, what is so hard to understand about that? It doesn't make any sense that we are still there, we have NO RIGHT to be there... It will come, be patient. I suspect once we get a new president the withdrawals will come. My unit is suspected of being deployed sometime next year...again. Supposedly the mission will be to start moving equipment out. Not 100% yet, but thats the word on the "street". War is hell, people die...thats the nature of war.

What else are we supposed to do once a mission is completed? Kick dirt around until we grow beards? You move on....no [cabbage]. Most of you don't understand the kind of war we are fighting here. Its not a blitzkrieg WWI or WWII type of war. Its house to house, street to street urban combat zone where the local fighters blend in with the surrounding people. Its a perfect example, in this sense to the Vietcong in Vietnam. You don't know who you are fighting on a daily basis, the enemy isn't sitting out there in the open. Its gun and run, they shoot at you and run. Its a daily grind of kicking in doors and getting hit by IEDs. IEDs are a whole other topic, its amazing what kind of [cabbage] you see them made out of. It would blow your mind.....literally and figuratively. Its a endless battle. Most of you think just because we are the strongest military power out there and we have all these huge Abrams tanks that we can just go wreck [cabbage]. I wish that were true. It all comes down to the foot patrol of a human soldier. While we are fighting house to house and street to street we have to build alliances to the locals, gain their trust even though they might be the ones blowing us up tomorrow, and give aid. Troop surge or not, this is a very tough job. You can have all the troops in the military over there but its still going to be a long hard, tedious task. Its working, but at a slow pace because of that ^.

The gun is not what makes these numbers so high. Its the amount of crazy people living in this country. The US has about 4 times the population the UK does. So given that, murder numbers are going to be higher. Makes sense. If you take guns away, it will be just like prohibition. People will want guns even more, and find ways to get guns. So another what if scenario....what if a guy in the UK gets a hold of a gun, are the everyday local municipal police going to run up and beat them with their little sticks? I feel much safer with guns legalized personally. Knowing that i can protect myself at any given time, and that the police can protect me where ever i am. If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Uh, don't insult him based on his grammar. It's perfectly fine considering where he lives. Same concept of police having tazers and putting out all the videos of people being tazed. After seeing that are you going to jump in line for it? It'd be much more appealing to rob the guy not carrying...so in essence the gun is a deterrent.

Swearing has it's place, but in general speaking, you sound a lot more intelligent if you form an argument without using swear words. Don't get me wrong, I love swearing. I play hockey, swearing is encoded in my DNA. I think that is society's way of regulating the right to free speech. I don't judge anyone's intelligence by how many swear words are in a sentence. We are all brainwashed into thinking there is only a right and wrong way of doing things. Break the cycle.
