Rest in peace, Mason of Much Death. My fortress has been abandoned after I tried making a volcano-dump "Sacrifice to Armok" platform. When I finally dropped the thing with 7 macaques, a dragon, and some useless migrant that had walked there, it crashed the game. Oh well, time to gen a new world and find another volcano. Oh, and the uber-baby died of thirst from her wounds in fighting the groundhog. The fort never had any water, so....

Project Breed-the-wild-animals has failed. Miserably. On the plus side, I have figured out that the baby of one of my military dwarves is amazing. SHE BASHED IN A GROUNDHOG'S SKULL.

I think my next fort is going to be a "solo-hermit" fort. That is, one guy who does everything. I just need a creative way to kill off the other 6...

I read the last few pages of this thread, and my face slowly went from "Hallelujah! I can read Earth's posts without a headache now!" to "What the...." and a headache. On the topic of off-topic, I learned today how to make cake in the microwave. It actually tasted pretty good, although it needed a little butter, a bit more sugar, and maybe a bit of cinnamon. Will be experimenting some more with it tomorrow, will give you guys the recipe for the best one.

Why did you make rewards for a forum-based activity have similar applications to about half of the rewards quests give - that is, aesthetics? If you're trying to integrate the forums more into the game and/or community, why don't you try to clean up the forums a bit first? Currently, the RSOF is full of trolls and whatnot. What would you do to help prevent this, and will you try to prevent it before further integrating the forums into the game? Because if there's a spiffy bit of aesthetic equipment out there, I'd rather not have to brave the land of trolls to try and get it, let alone getting help in figure out a puzzle.

I honestly think the merger debate should stay between the Falador Librarians, Rusco players, and those who desire to merge stuff. Because since all those threads are seriously dead, so they wouldn't affect most of the Tavern at all. As for the censor, I am apathetic towards that also. I don't swear, so it doesn't affect me that way, and I hear enough swearing that I have grown accustomed to ignoring it. I am slowly becoming the king of apathy.

Given his magic system, and that he basically channels energy from his surroundings into an object, then releases it in a weaponized or otherwise useful fashion... MAGIC HOUSE. HELL YES. The peasant quarter will be sent into winter for MONTHS. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAA... Wait, when does the session start?

Or, you could make a big sphere of dirt, put a couple enchantments on it so that it throws fire in varying directions when moved, and then set it up to roll down in front of your entryway if intruders step on a tripwire. Imagine coming home to find that your security system has made you some fresh intruder pancake! Yumm..... intruder pancake...

I meant it as more of a "Theros is out adventuring, and don't try to break into his house or death by magical traps will befall you" sort of thing. Edit: One more thing about Theros's magic system. He typically uses the environment around him to charge spells, e.g. drains heat around him to charge fire spells, drains a water source to charge water spells, etc. So if he becomes an accomplished blood mage, things could get very ugly, very rapidly, as he'd need a whole host of people/creatures to charge his spells from. Also, spells drained from something of magical origin should typically become more powerful.

With Theros's magic system also may come another advantage.... Magically Imbued Traps of DEATH. That is, some type of magical trigger besides a living caster. As though having an Indiana Jones boulder raining down on your head wasn't bad enough... imagine one that spits PURPLE FLAMING FIREBALLS OF DOOM. Of course, it'd take a long time to be able to do something like that, but...
