  1. Fixed. ;) Played 2003-2005. Stopped for four years. While the graphics are much nicer, and the game is quite a bit different than what it once was... FOUR YEARS, and Jagex has proven to be the same piece of [cabbage], if not worse than it was once upon a time.
  2. Overpowered weapons became a problem a long time ago. Pkers have no problems with dragon claws, godswords, or dark bows, but now that gaining an advantage requires a skill, all hell breaks loose. As far that issue goes, either they need some type of damage decreasing equipment, damage decreasing skill (because clearly defense does not this), or like you said, a second HP stat would be nice. But I guarantee that if released, whiny lower levels and whiny pkers will complain yet again. But forget about the overpowered issue and again... This update wasn't about implementing higher hits. It was about giving high levels an advantage, which they rightfully deserve. "Players felt they had to train a skill to compete with those who DO train, so we nerfed it..."
  3. They could always do both. I'd say the monster drop armor should also be a tad bit better as well, since it would likely be harder to obtain.
  4. For those who initially saw the quote above, it's really: "players felt they had to increase their Herblore level to be able to make these potions, before they could effectively fight players of a similar combat level to themselves". Sorry about the getting caught up in this confusion. Word gets passed around, people gossip, and you read things that you need to validate for yourself. :wall:
  5. Either that or horses will only a require a level 30 quest to acquire, to satisfy the low levels.
  6. ^ And they could have followed up herblore potions with new untradeable high level armor that actually reduced the amount of damage you took. But those probably wouldn't be allowed in PVP anyway because all of the 1 def pures would complain about not being able to 1hit spec people.
  7. Jagex really dropped the bomb on this one. I almost feel insulted over what they did. Yesterday they were getting a ton of: "Thank you Jagex, you heard our wishes" or... "0mgz! n0 dis pots R unfir!!11 i r 2 pur 2 train n e thing but STRRRR11!!1 but i 76k alll day ne way" And unbelievably they chose the latter. I am really at a loss of words here. I have only a few days of members left and Jagex had better change something back. They could have done many other things things such as a minimum combat level to use the potions, or allowed some type of sample extreme potions to be sold that only lasted say 30 seconds. I myself was looking forward to training herblore and farming along with it, but Jagex just completely took away the incentive for me. Jagex in summary 1) Does nothing about the merchant clans 2) Does nothing about the 76k trick 3) Listens to those who are a part of 1&2 as evidenced by this recent nerf :shame:
  8. I really hope this is one of many updates to come. PVP and high combat in general could become extremely diversified if you start doing with with other skills.
  9. Um... I would accept a tenth of that in a instant. I don't have any RL friends that play anymore, so moving on would not be difficult. I'd take the money and play some real world grand exchange with it.
  10. Right now middle of the day... 38 Lowest, 325 highest. World 26 members PVP is 40 for me. It's also odd how Ohio and Pennsylvania servers are giving me better pings than Texas and California servers, when they are 2000 miles away.
  11. Alright I was already completely wrong about the Earth Runes. They're already at what I said above, and will likely push above tomorrow as it's still extremely slow trying to buy for max on GE. Going to update my original post. Now seems to be the time to just load up while everything is still "cheap".
  12. Are you both saying that monster drops can fill in for the unlimited supply of previously? Even for a common drop like fire runes? I don't go kill fire giants or dust devils for 6 straight hours to get a decent amount of fire runes, nor do I slay, but I'd find it very hard to believe that monster drops could fill in for the unlimited supply.
  13. Fire runes are junk? I thought the reason they were so cheap was because of the unlimited stock selling them at 9ea before? And now shops sell them at 17ea? And that's just the initial price too, so the source of fires will have to be from rune crafters.
  14. Does anyone have any speculation as to what the future prices of runes will be, now that unlimited stock has been removed? As of today death runes can only really be bought at max (356gp) and other runes are also difficult to buy. If I had to take a guess on the prices in the long term, I'd go with... Fires: 10-12ea Airs: 16-18ea Earth: 25-27ea Water: 27-30ea Chaos: No idea Cosmic: 220-230ea Nature: 250-270ea Death: 350-400ea Blood: 500-600ea Soul: 600-700ea Astral: No idea
  15. I was messing around with Movie Maker and ended up making a short SD vs HD video, since the others I've seen are crappy in quality.
  16. I would hate to lay on my death bed one day and look back to see 10 years of my life wasted on accomplishing 200M in every skill.
  17. There's an argument both ways to that. It's like rolling through a stop sign at 2mph - illegal, but does it hurt anyone, and is it really enforced? But you do come up with a good idea on a bank system that remember where the items were before you took them out.
  18. Ok after playing for a day here are my impressions... RT5: Not much is changed on HD, a few touches here and there, but something does seem better about it. And SD being full screen, while it looks ugly as hell, is a nice improvement. However, I most anticipating what is to come, especially bloom lighting and particle effects. 8/10 Magic Update: The hiding of many spells is very useful for positioning spells. The 10% bonuses, I'll take it. And autocasting, yes please! 8/10 Personalized Shops: It's about time. There was once a time when RS has limited stocks, and it should have never been removed. At least Jagex realizing the amount of players today personalized the stocks available. If you have played pre-infinite stock, stop [bleep]ing. Finite stock is how it should, and a real economy should be. Boohoo Jagex makes one thing more difficult instead of easier and all of a sudden people want to light them at the torch. 7/10 Bugs: Just awful. People losing items through the update, dropping items on accident, lag encountered though getting multiple God capes was nice! 2/10 My experience: HD still runs flawlessly for me. I experience none of this so called lag that others do. Maybe it's time for some of you to get your computers up to 2006 standards at least. What was low end when RS2 first came out in 2004 (the original SD you could call it) is now ancient. It's nice that RS could run on Windows 98 hardware, but that is not, and should not last forever. Overall Update: 6/10 (because of the bugs) Polished Update: 9/10 (after the bugs are fixed)
  19. Was Runetek5 a SD update? I'm not noticing much changed in HD other than the map, and a few extra textures here and there. I thought sky color maybe hinted at a day/night system, but I was wrong. It's kind of a weird update overall IMO. I only started playing again less than 2 months ago, and the game just got different yet again!
  20. I'm debating on 28 vs 45 prayer. At 28 prayer I will have 15% defense and 10% mage/range. At 45 I will have 15% on all three. But it also two extra combat levels. I'm still thinking like a dueler from years ago - keeping combat as low as possible. It may be entirely different with PvP worlds now with the large range of levels that you can or can be attacked by. Also I wasn't aware of the 149 rule but I wasn't really planning on training strength that high. I was thinking of getting something like... Attack: 76/78 Strength: 65/70 Defense: 78/80 HP: 71/73 Magic: 95/99 Range: 95/99 Prayer: 28/45 Cb Lvl: 86/91 What do you think?
  21. I'll be in the market for one around the 1.2M price. I'll be offering some junk though so I better start sorting it out.
  22. Messing around with Photoshop (not very good at it), but here's a concept I came up with for night time in RuneScape! It's incomplete, but you get the idea. I might mess around a bit more with these. It was kind of fun trying to make.
  23. Updated 8/15/2009 Combat: 80 Attack: 76 Strength: 59 Defense: 76 HP: 71 Ranged: 79 Magic: 87 Prayer: 1 Other than the obvious of maxing magic and raising range, my big question here is... should I get any prayer? I'm thinking about Ancients which would require that I get some prayer levels. What do you think? Thanks.
  24. That's what I love about it. No longer do I have to be on for hours at a time to get some good trading done. Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone!
  25. People don't like change I guess. Well, tomorrow I'm going away for 2-3 weeks, so I'll be wasting 13 days of membership. This is another thing Jagex needs to implement - if you don't log in one day, don't count it as a day used. But in the meantime I bought a Santa Hat, so hopefully they go up a bit while I'm gone. Hit a 20M+ net-worth today. It's just too easy with the GE (and no I'm not a part of one of those annoying as hell merchant clans). I didn't make it all in GE, but at least half I'd say I did there. :D
